Objective To determine the efficiency of selenium and/or vitamin E to alleviate lung oxidative damage induced by dimethoate, an organophosphorus compound. Methods Adult Wistar rats were exposed during 30 days either to dimethoate （0.2 g/L of drinking water）, dimethoate＋selenium （0.5 mg/kg of diet）, dimethoate＋vitamin E （100 mg/kg of diet）, or dimethoate＋selenium＋vitamin E. Results Exposure to dimethoate caused oxidative stress in lung evidenced by an increase of malondialdehyde, protein carbonyl groups and advanced oxidation protein products. An increase in glutathione peroxidase, superoxide dismutase, catalase and a decrease in acetylcholinesterase and butyrylcholinesterase activities, glutathione, non-protein thiols and vitamins C levels were observed. Histopathological changes in lung tissue were noted as emphysema, hemorrhages and hemosiderin deposits. Co-administration of selenium or vitamin E to the diet of dimethoate treated rats ameliorated the biochemical parameters as well as histological impairments. The joint effect of these elements was more powerful in antagonizing dimethoate-induced lung oxidative damage. Conclusion We concluded that selenium and vitamin E ameliorated the toxic effects of this pesticide in lung tissue suggesting their role as potential antioxidants.

Objective The current study aimed to elucidate the effect of vanillin on behavioral changes, oxidative stress, and histopathological changes induced by potassium bromate （KBrO3）, an environmental pollutant, in the cerebellum of adult *** The animals were divided into four groups： group 1 served as a control, group 2 received KBrO3, group 3 received KBrO3 and vanillin, and group 4 received only vanillin. We then measured behavioral changes, oxidative stress, and molecular and histological changes in the *** We observed significant behavioral changes in KBrO3-exposed mice. When investigating redox homeostasis in the cerebellum, we found that mice treated with KBrO3 had increased lipid peroxidation and protein oxidation in the cerebellum. These effects were accompanied by decreased Na＋-K＋ and Mg2＋ ATPase activity and antioxidant enzyme gene expression when compared to the control group. Additionally, there was a significant increase in cytokine gene expression in KBrO3-treated mice. Microscopy revealed that KBrO3 intoxication resulted in numerous degenerative changes in the cerebellum that were substantially ameliorated by vanillin supplementation. Co-administration of vanillin blocked the biochemical and molecular anomalies induced by *** Our results demonstrate that vanillin is a potential therapeutic agent for oxidative stress associated with neurodegenerative diseases.

Olive mills wastewater(OMW) exhibit substantial contaminated properties due to their content of phenolic constituents and organic substances. The purpose of this work was the investigation of the efficiency of clay materials for the adsorption of phenolic compounds, which are contained in ***, thermal activation of the clay took place in order to improve phenolic compounds uptake and afterwards, desorption process was studied. The adsorbent was characterized using XRD, XRF and BET surface area analyses. The adsorption efficiency of phenolic compounds by raw and calcined clay at 600 °C was 77.61% and 84.21%, respectively at acidic p H. The values of Gibbs free energy indicated that adsorption process is spontaneous and beneficial at higher temperatures. Alkaline medium was propitious for phenolic compounds desorption. The obtained results showed that natural clay could be used as a low-cost adsorbent for OMW treatment.

Advancements in uncrewed aircrafts and communications technologies have led to a wave of interest and investment in unmanned aircraft systems(UASs)and urban air mobility(UAM)vehicles over the past *** support this emerging aviation application,concepts for UAS/UAM traffic management(UTM)systems have been *** characterizing and predicting the microscale weather conditions,winds in particular,will be critical to safe and efficient operations of the small UASs/UAM aircrafts within the *** study implements a reduced order data assimilation approach to reduce discrepancies between the predicted urban wind speed with computational fluid dynamics(CFD)Reynolds-averaged Navier Stokes(RANS)model with real-world,limited and sparse *** developed data assimilation system is *** observations are simulated using a large eddy simulation(LES).The data assimilation approach is based on the time-independent variational framework and uses space reduction to reduce the memory cost of the *** approach leads to error reduction throughout the simulated domain and the reconstructed field is different than the initial guess by ingesting wind speeds at sensor locations and hence taking into account flow unsteadiness in a time when only the mean flow quantities are *** locations where wind sensors can be installed are discussed in terms of their impact on the resulting wind *** is shown that near-wall locations,near turbulence generation areas with high wind speeds have the highest *** the model error with its principal mode provides a better agreement with the truth and the hazardous areas for UAS navigation increases by more than 10%as wind hazards resulting from buildings wakes are better simulated through this process.

Let {S t H, t ≥ 0） be a linear combination of a Brownian motion and an independent sub-fractional Brownian motion with Hurst index 0 〈 H 〈 1. Its main properties are studied. They suggest that SH lies between the sub-fractional Brownian motion and the mixed fractional Brownian motion. We also determine the values of H for which SH is not a semi-martingale.

Determination and Analysis of Optical Constant of Annealed Sn_2Sb_2S_5 Thin Films

The effects of annealing on structural, optical and electrical properties of Sn2Sb2S5 thin films were studied. Sn2Sb2S5 thin films were deposited on no-heated glass substrates by single source vacuum evaporation method. The as- deposited films were annealed in air for 1 h at 100, 200 and 300 ℃. XRD study shows that annealed films are crystallized according to the preferential orientation （602）. Optical measurements show that the thin films have relatively high absorption coefficients in the range of 10s-106 cm-1 in the energy range of 2-3.25 eV. It is also found that Sn2Sb2S5 exhibit two optical direct transitions. The models of Wemple-DiDomenico and Spitzer-Fan were applied for the analysis of the dispersion of the refractive index and the determination of the optical and dielectric constants. The electrical resistivity measurements are recorded, and two activation energy values are determined. The layers annealed at 200 and 300 ℃ exhibit a resistive hysteresis behavior. The properties reported here offer perspective to Sn2SbES5 for its application in many advanced technologies.

Britholites with the general formula Ca10-xLnx（PO4）6-x（SiO4）xF2, （0≤x≤6） are considered to be promising matrices for the confinement of the by-products in the nuclear industry. A thermodynamic study showed that the stability of these compounds de-creased as the substitution rate increased. The present work was an attempt to gain more information about the structural changes in-duced by the substitution, in order to understand the observed stability decrease. The samples were successfully synthesized as a sin-gle-phase apatite by a solid-state reaction between 1200 and 1400 °C. The structural refinement indicated that the La3＋ions preferen-tially occupied the 6（h） sites. A progressive shift of F-along the c-axis outside its ideal position occurred as a result of the substitution increase. This might be the cause of the observed stability decrease, especially as the energies of the La-O, La-F and Si-O bonds are higher than those of Ca-O, Ca-F and P-O. The distribution of La3＋ between the two non-equivalent sites was confirmed by the charge distribution method.

This research includes optimization of aggregate production of the stone crushing plant using fuzzy *** investigation includes onsite aggregate testing and fuzzy logic *** modelling is a type of computerized reasoning used to simulate the real plant *** this work,a lot of agent degree information for crushers were reproduced using fuzzy *** logic was then used to shape the information after a crusher *** logic is created to improve the final product gradation for the *** for utilizing the created fuzzy model is sketched out and could be utilized as a part of a representative preparing program or for informative *** the tonnages anticipated by fuzzy,it is evident that the program does great in predicting the final product tonnage with an average of 13.7 % for just four samples.
