Bi-revealed utilities in a defaultable universe: A new point of view on consumption

This paper investigates the inverse problem of bi-revealed utilities in a defaultable universe,defined as a standard universe(represented by a filtration F)perturbed by an exogenous defaultable time τ.We assume that the standard universe does not take into account the possibility of the default,thus τ adds an additional source of *** defaultable universe is represented by the filtration G up to time τ(τ included),where G stands for the progressive enlargement of F by *** basic assumption in force is that τ avoids F-stopping *** bi-revealed problem consists in recovering a consistent dynamic utility from the observable characteristic of an *** general results on bi-revealed utilities,first given in a general and abstract framework,are translated in the defaultable G-universe and then are interpreted in the *** decomposition of G-adapted processes X^(G) provides an interpretation of a Gcharacteristic X^(G)_(τ) stopped at τ as a reserve *** to the characterization of G-martingales stopped at τ in terms of F-martingales,we establish a correspondence between G-bi-revealed utilities from characteristic and F-bi-revealed pair of utilities from characteristic and *** a financial framework,characteristic can be interpreted as wealth and reserves as *** result sheds a new light on the consumption in utility criterion:the consumption process can be interpreted as a certain quantity of wealth,or reserves,that are accumulated for the financing of losses at the default time.

Yttria Tetragonal Zirconia Biomaterials:Kinetic Investigation

The low temperature aging behavior of polycrystalline tetragonal zirconia was investigated to explore the effects on phase transformation occurring during the process. XRD analysis was conducted for the phase identification and the tetragonal to monoclinic phase transformation was determined. The aging of tetragonal zirconia polycrystals doped with 3 mol% Y203 triggers tetragonal to monoclinic phase transformation on the surface of the specimen only, while the penetration inside the bulk of the specimen is very limited. A slight decrease in the mechanical properties was also observed after aging for 40 h. The transformation kinetics show a nucleation and growth mechanism on the specimen surface to be dominant in the low temperature aging in water environment.

Strength and Wear Behavior of mg Alloy AE42 Reinforced with Carbon Short Fibers

In addition to the advantage of the lightweight of magnesium alloys, magnesium composites have moderate strength and elastic modulus. The proposed application of magnesium composites as diesel truck pistons makes it necessary to assess their wear performance. Little research data have been discussed on wear behavior of mg alloy AE42 matrix and its composites. Thus, this paper reports wear behavior of magnesium alloy AE42(mg–Al–mn—RE; rare earth) and its composite AE42-C, which contains 23 vol% of randomly oriented carbon short fibers. materials characterization, including density measurements, hardness testing, microstructures investigation, and compression testing at temperatures of 25, 150,and 300 °C, were conducted. Wear tests were performed under various loads and sliding distances. Wear mechanisms were also proposed based on the examination of worn surfaces using optical microscopy and scanning electron microscopy equipped with EDX(energy-dispersive X-ray spectrometry) analysis system. The hardness of AE42-23 vol% C composite is twice the hardness of the mg matrix alloy AE42. Significant improvements to yield stress and compressive strength at temperatures of 25, 150, and 300 °C of the composite versus the AE42 alloy are achieved. Wear resistance of the composite is improved considerably versus that of the mg alloy AE42 at the various sliding distances. Smearing of graphite on the worn surface produces a lubricating film that delays change from mild to severe wear of the composite, especially at high loads. EDX analysis of the worn surface shows oxidation of the matrix alloy at higher wear loads, and this mechanism decreases in the presence of carbon fibers under the same loads. Abrasive wear, oxidation, and plastic deformation are the dominant wear mechanisms for the alloy matrix AE42, whereas mainly abrasive wear is the wear mechanism of AE42-23 vol% C composite under the proposed testing conditions.

Background Cerebral cavernous malformations(CCms)frequently manifest with *** radiosurgery(SRS)has been employed for CCm not suitable for *** effect on reducing haemorrhage risk is still *** aim of this study was to expand on the safety and efficacy of SRS for haemorrhagic *** This retrospective multicentric study included CCm with at least one haemorrhage treated with single-session *** annual haemorrhagic rate(AHR)was calculated before and after *** event analysis and Cox regression were used to evaluate factors associated with *** radiation effects(AREs)and occurrence of new neurological deficits were *** The study included 381 patients (median age:37.5 years(Q1–Q3:25.8–51.9))with 414 *** AHR from diagnosis to SRS excluding the first haemorrhage was 11.08 per 100 CCm-years and was reduced to 2.7 per 100 CCm-years after *** recurrent event analysis,SRS,HR 0.27(95%CI 0.17 to 0.44),pmorrhage,and the presence of developmental venous anomaly(DVA)with an increased risk,HR 1.60(95%CI 1.07 to 2.40),p=*** cumulative risk of first haemorrhage after SRS was 9.4%(95%CI 6%to 12.6%)at 5 years and 15.6%(95%CI%9 to 21.8%)at 10 *** doses>13 Gy,HR 2.27(95%CI 1.20 to 4.32),p=0.012 and the presence of DVA,HR 2.08(95%CI 1.00 to 4.31),p=0.049 were factors associated with higher probability of post-SRS ***-SRS haemorrhage was symptomatic in 22 out of 381(5.8%)patients,presenting with transient(15/381)or permanent(7/381)neurological *** occurred in 11.1%(46/414)CCm and was responsible for transient neurological deficit in 3.9%(15/381)of the patients and permanent deficit in 1.1%(4/381)of the *** doses>13 Gy and CCm volume>0.7 cc were associated with increased risk of ARE.

In this study,the sine-Gordon equation method is modified to deal with variable-coefficient systems containing imaginary parts,such as nonlinear Schrödinger *** are of considerable importance in many fields of research,including ocean engineering and *** an example,we apply the modified method to variable-coefficient coupled nonlinear Schrödinger equations and Davey-Stewartson system with variable coefficients,treating them as one-dimensional and two-dimensional systems,*** a result of this application,novel solitary wave solutions are obtained for both ***,some figures are provided to illustrate how the solitary wave propagation is determined by the different values of the variable group velocity dispersion terms,which can be used to model various phenomena.

Effects of high glucose and severe hypoxia on the biological behavior of mesenchymal stem cells at various passages

BACKGROUND mesenchymal stem cells(mSCs)have been extensively studied for therapeutic potential,due to their regenerative and immunomodulatory *** passage and stress factors may affect the biological characteristics of mSCs,but the details of these effects have not been recognized *** To investigate the effects of stress factors(high glucose and severe hypoxia)on the biological characteristics of mSCs at different passages,in order to optimize the therapeutic applications of *** In this study,we investigated the impact of two stress conditions;severe hypoxia and high glucose on human adipose-tissue derived mSCs(hAD-mSCs)at passages 6(P6),P8,and ***,senescence and apoptosis were evaluated measuring WST-1,senescence-associated beta-galactosidase,and annexin V,*** Cells at P6 showed decreased proliferation and increased apoptosis under conditions of high glucose and hypoxia compared to control,while the extent of senescence did not change significantly under stress *** P8 hAD-mSCs cultured in stress conditions had a significant decrease in proliferation and apoptosis and a significant increase in senescence compared to counterpart cells at *** cultured in high glucose at P10 had lower proliferation and higher senescence than their counterparts in the previous passage,while no change in apoptosis was *** the other hand,mSCs cultured under hypoxia showed decreased senescence,increased apoptosis and no significant change in proliferation when compared to the same conditions at *** These results indicate that stress factors had distinct effects on the biological processes of mSCs at different passages,and suggest that senescence may be a protective mechanism for mSCs to survive under stress conditions at higher passage numbers.

ellipsometric configurations using a phase retarder and a rotating polarizer and analyzer at any speed ratio

In this paper, we propose an ellipsometer using a phase retarder and rotating polarizer and analyzer at a speed ratio I：N. Different ellipsometric configurations are presented by assuming N = 1, 2, and 3. moreover, two values of the offset angle of the retarder are considered for each ellipsometric configuration. The m.eller formalism is employed to extract the Stokes parameters, from which the intensity received by the detector is obtained. The optical properties of c-Si are calculated using all configurations. A comparison between different configurations is carried out considering the effect of the noise on the results and the uncertainties in the ellipsometric parameters as functions of the uncertainties of the Fourier coefficients. It is found that the alignment of the phase retarder has a crucial impact on the results and the ellipsometric configuration with speed ratio 1：1 is preferred over the other configurations.

Supply chain 4.0 refers to the fourth industrial revolution’s supply chain management systems,which integrate the supply chain’s manufacturing operations,information technology,and telecommunication *** supply chain 4.0 aims to improve supply chains’production systems and profitability,it is subject to different operational and disruptive *** risks are a big challenge in the cycle of supply chain 4.0 for controlling the demand and supply operations to produce and deliver products across IT *** paper proposes a voting classifier to identify the operational risks in the supply chain 4.0 based on a Sine Cosine Dynamic Group(SCDG)*** and exploitation mechanisms of the basic Sine Cosine Algorithm(CSA)are adjusted and controlled by two groups of agents that can be changed dynamically during the *** and internal features were collected and analyzed from different data sources of service level agreements and transaction data from various KSA firms to validate the proposed algorithm’s efficiency.A balanced accuracy of 0.989 and a mean Square Error(mSE)of 0.0476 were achieved compared with other optimization-based classifier techniques.A one-way analysis of variance(ANOVA)and Wilcoxon rank-sum tests were performed to show the superiority of the proposed SCDG ***,the experimental results indicate the effectiveness of the proposed SCDG algorithm-based voting classifier.

Using BlazePose on Spatial Temporal Graph Convolutional Networks for Action Recognition

The ever-growing available visual data(i.e.,uploaded videos and pictures by internet users)has attracted the research community’s attention in the computer vision ***,finding efficient solutions to extract knowledge from these sources is ***,the BlazePose system has been released for skeleton extraction from images oriented to mobile *** this skeleton graph representation in place,a Spatial-Temporal Graph Convolutional Network can be implemented to predict the *** hypothesize that just by changing the skeleton input data for a different set of joints that offers more information about the action of interest,it is possible to increase the performance of the Spatial-Temporal Graph Convolutional Network for HAR ***,in this study,we present the first implementation of the BlazePose skeleton topology upon this architecture for action ***,we propose the Enhanced-BlazePose topology that can achieve better results than its ***,we propose different skeleton detection thresholds that can improve the accuracy performance even *** reached a top-1 accuracy performance of 40.1%on the Kinetics *** the NTU-RGB+D dataset,we achieved 87.59%and 92.1%accuracy for Cross-Subject and Cross-View evaluation criteria,respectively.

Assessment of thermal comfort in the traditional and contemporary houses in Byblos:A comparative study

This paper presents a comparative study on the thermal comfort of traditional and contemporary houses in Byblos,*** climate change affecting indoor environments and potentially leading to increased energy consumption,achieving optimal thermal comfort is a crucial issue for building *** study analyzes several environmental parameters and conducts an occupancy survey to assess thermal comfort in both types of *** questionnaire used in the survey consists of 46 questions divided into three parts:“Who are you?”,“The environment of your house?”,and“Architectural characteristics of the house.”The results show that traditional houses perform better than contemporary ones in terms of thermal comfort,due to their use of natural and passive ***,both types of houses have room for improvement in terms of energy *** study provides insights into potential solutions for improving indoor thermal comfort while reducing energy consumption in traditional and contemporary houses.
