Molluscicidal effect of green synthesized silver nanoparticles using Azadirachta indica on Biomphalaria alexandrina snails and Schistosoma mansoni cercariae

This exploratory research aims to evaluate indoor environmental quality in the classrooms of three school buildings in Southern Manitoba,Canada,and to evaluate the well-being of these schools’teachers as it pertains to their perception of their classrooms’indoor *** schools include a middle-aged,conventional school;a new,non-green school;and a new,green school certified using the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design rating *** methodology involved using a mobile instrument cart to conduct snapshot measurements of thermal comfort,indoor air quality,lighting and acoustics in classrooms and an occupant survey to evaluate teachers’long-term satisfaction with their classrooms’indoor environmental *** results showed that the new,green and new,non-green schools’classrooms performed better than the conventional,middle-aged school’s classrooms with respect to some aspects of thermal comfort and indoor air quality *** in the new,green school and in the new,non-green school were more satisfied than teachers in the conventional,middle-aged school with their classrooms’overall indoor environmental quality,lighting quality and indoor air ***,the new,green and new-non green school classrooms’performance were very comparable with the new,green school’s classrooms performing statistically significantly better with respect to relative ***,none of the differences in teachers’satisfaction ratings between the new,green and new,non-green school were statistically significant.

Machine learning and data-driven prediction of pore pressure from geophysical logs:A case study for the Mangahewa gas field,New Zealand

Pore pressure is an essential parameter for establishing reservoir conditions,geological interpretation and drilling *** pressure prediction depends on information from various geophysical logs,seismic,and direct down-hole pressure ***,a level of uncertainty accompanies the prediction of pore pressure because insufficient information is usually recorded in many *** machine learning(ML)algorithms can decrease the level of uncertainty of pore pressure prediction uncertainty in cases where available information is *** this research,several ML techniques are applied to predict pore pressure through the over-pressured Eocene reservoir section penetrated by four wells in the Mangahewa gas field,New *** predictions substantially outperform,in terms of prediction performance,those generated using a multiple linear regression(MLR)*** geophysical logs used as input variables are sonic,temperature and density logs,and some direct pore pressure measurements were available at the reservoir level to calibrate the predictions.A total of 25,935 data records involving six well-log input variables were evaluated across the four *** ML methods achieved credible levels of pore pressure prediction *** most accurate models for predicting pore pressure in individual wells on a supervised basis are decision tree(DT),adaboost(ADA),random forest(RF)and transparent open box(TOB).The DT achieved root mean square error(RMSE)ranging from 0.25 psi to 14.71 psi for the four *** trained models were less accurate when deployed on a semi-supervised basis to predict pore pressure in the other *** two wells(Mangahewa-03 and Mangahewa-06),semi-supervised prediction achieved acceptable prediction performance of RMSE of 130—140 psi;while for the other wells,semi-supervised prediction performance was reduced to RMSE>300 *** results suggest that these models can be used to predict pore pressure in nearby locat

Linear and nonlinear dust acoustic(DA)waves have been investigated in an opposite polarity dusty plasma comprising negatively and positively charged dust grains,Maxwellian electrons and ions,including the generalized polarization force *** properties of linear DA waves have been significantly altered by the dual dust polarity and polarization *** amplitude DA solitons have been discussed in the framework of the Sagdeev potential *** results show that both rarefactive and compressive solitons can exist in such a dusty *** basic features of the Sagdeev potential have been examined under the effect of the polarization force parameter R,the ratio of the charge number of the positive dust to that of the negative dust Z,and the Mach number *** results show that these parameters play a significant role in determining the region of existence of large amplitude DA solitons.

Structural analysis by Rietveld refinement of calcium and lanthanum phosphosilicate apatites

Britholites with the general formula Ca10-xLnx（PO4）6-x（SiO4）xF2, （0≤x≤6） are considered to be promising matrices for the confinement of the by-products in the nuclear industry. A thermodynamic study showed that the stability of these compounds de-creased as the substitution rate increased. The present work was an attempt to gain more information about the structural changes in-duced by the substitution, in order to understand the observed stability decrease. The samples were successfully synthesized as a sin-gle-phase apatite by a solid-state reaction between 1200 and 1400 °C. The structural refinement indicated that the La3＋ions preferen-tially occupied the 6（h） sites. A progressive shift of F-along the c-axis outside its ideal position occurred as a result of the substitution increase. This might be the cause of the observed stability decrease, especially as the energies of the La-O, La-F and Si-O bonds are higher than those of Ca-O, Ca-F and P-O. The distribution of La3＋ between the two non-equivalent sites was confirmed by the charge distribution method.

The Wireless Sensor Networks(WSNs)are characterized by their widespread deployment due to low cost,but the WSNs are vulnerable to various types of *** defend against the attacks,an effective security solution is ***,the limits of these networks’battery-based energy to the sensor are the most critical impediments to selecting cryptographic ***,finding a suitable algorithm that achieves the least energy consumption in data encryption and decryption and providing a highly protected system for data remains the fundamental *** this research,the main objective is to obtain data security during transmission by proposing a robust and low-power encryption algorithm,in addition,to examining security algorithms such as ECC and MD5 based on previous *** this research,the Energy Saving and Securing Data algorithm(ESSD)algorithm is introduced,which provides the Message Digest 5(MD5)computation simplicity by modifying the Elliptic Curve Cryptography(ECC)under the primary condition of power *** three algorithms,ECC,MD5,and ESSD,are applied to Low Energy Adaptive Clustering hierarchy(LEACh)and Threshold-sensitive Energy Efficient Sensor Network Protocol(TEEN)hierarchical routing algorithms which are considered the most widely used in *** results of security methods under the LEACh protocol show that all nodes are dead at 456,496,and 496,respectively,to ECC,MD5,and *** results of security methods under the TEEN protocol show that the test ends at 3743,4815,and 4889,respectively,to ECC,MD5,and *** on these results,the ESSD outperforms better in terms of increased security and less power *** addition,it is advantageous when applied to TEEN protocol.

The core reactions for fuel cells,rechargeable metal-air batteries,and hydrogen fuel production are the oxygen reduction reaction(ORR),oxygen evolution reaction(OER),and hydrogen evolution reaction(hER),which are heavily dependent on the efficiency of *** attempts have previously been devoted in non-noble electrocatalysts born out of metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)for ORR,OER,and hER applications,due to the following advantageous reasons:(i)The significant porosity eases the electrolyte diffusion;(ii)the supreme catalyst-electrolyte contact area enhances the diffusion efficiency;and(iii)the electronic conductivity can be extensively increased owing to the unique construction block subunits for MOFs-derived ***,the recent progress of MOFs-derived electrocatalysts including synthesis protocols,design engineering,DFT calculations roles,and energy applications is discussed and *** can be concluded that the elevated ORR,OER,and hER performances are attributed to an advantageously well-designed high-porosity structure,significant surface area,and plentiful active ***,the perspectives of MOF-derived electrocatalysts for the ORR,OER,and hER are presented.

Ab initio study of structural,electronic,thermo-elastic and optical properties of Pt3Zr intermetallic compound

Structural,elastic,electronic and optical properties of the Pt3Zr intermetallic compound are investigated using first principles calculations based on the density functional theory(DFT)within the generalized gradient approximation(GGA)and the local density approximation(LDA).The Pt3Zr compound is predicted to be of cubic L12 and hexagonal D024 *** calculated equilibrium ground-state properties(lattice parameters a and c,bulk modulus B and its pressure derivative B',formation enthalpy Δh)of the Pt3Zr compound,for both cubic and hexagonal phases,show good agreement with the experimental results and other theoretical *** constants(C11,C12,C13,C33,C44,and C55)are *** predicted elastic properties such as Young's modulus E and shear modulus Gh,Poisson ratioν,anisotropic ratio A,Kleinman parameter ξ,Cauchy pressure(C12-C44),ratios B/C44 and B/G,and Vickers hardness hv indicate the stiffness,hardness and ductility of the *** characteristic parameters such as Debye temperature θD and melting temperature Tm are *** properties such as density of states(DOS)and electronic specific heat γ are also *** calculated results reveal that the Fermi level is on the psedogap for the D024 structure and on the antibonding side for the L12 *** optical property functions(real partε1(ω)and imaginary part ε2(ω)of dielectric function),optical conductivity σ(ω),refraction index n(ω),reflectivity R(ω),absorption α(ω)and extinction coefficients k(ω)and loss function L(ω)are also investigated for the first time for Pt3Zr in a large gamme of energy from 0 to 70 eV.

A peer-to-peer logic environment to validate flashing yellow arrow decision support system

Measuring acoustic emission(AE)of partial discharge(PD)phenomena can be adopted to estimate the condition of power ***,the environmental noise encountered with AE of PD measurements negatively affects the accuracy of PD localisation and ***,efficient signal denoising techniques are required for noise suppression and hence,better detection *** study deals with white noise and it is a continuation of a previously published work that deals with random *** published work addresses the random noise suppression using a method named,power spectral subtraction denoising(PSSD).This study applies PSSD to the PD signals contaminated with white noise and uses a novel scheme of noise power spectrum density *** types of AE signals are examined including signals produced by corona,surface,parallel,and void *** and real data demonstrate the superiority of the proposed method over the wavelet shrinkage denoising method as it can more effectively eliminate white noise and preserve signals of low signal-to-noise ratio.
