Enhancing photovoltaic energy forecasting:a progressive approach using wavelet packet decomposition

Accurate photovoltaic(PV)energy forecasting plays a crucial role in the efficient operation of PV power *** study presents a novel hybrid machine-learning(ML)model that combines Gaussian process regression with wavelet packet decomposition to forecast PV power half an hour *** proposed technique was applied to the PV energy database of a station located in Algeria and its performance was compared to that of traditional forecasting *** evaluations demonstrate the superiority of the proposed approach over conventional ML methods,including Gaussian process regression,extreme learning machines,artificial neural networks and support vector machines,across all *** proposed model exhibits lower normalized root mean square error(nRMSE)(2.116%)and root mean square error(RMSE)(208.233 kW)values,along with a higher coefficient of determination(R^(2))of 99.881%.Furthermore,the exceptional performance of the model is maintained even when tested with various prediction ***,as the forecast horizon extends from 1.5 to 5.5 hours,the prediction accuracy decreases,evident by the increase in the RMSE(710.839 kW)and nRMSE(7.276%),and a decrease in R2(98.462%).Comparative analysis with recent studies reveals that our approach consistently delivers competitive or superior *** study provides empirical evidence supporting the effectiveness of the proposed hybrid ML model,suggesting its potential as a reliable tool for enhancing PV power forecasting accuracy,thereby contributing to more efficient grid management.

Forecasting solar radiation is fundamental to several domains related to renewable energy where several methods have been used to predict daily solar radiation,such as artificial intelligence and hybrid ***,the Gaussian process regression(GPR)algorithm has been used successfully in remote sensing and Earth *** this paper,a wavelet-coupled Gaussian process regression(W-GPR)model was proposed to predict the daily solar radiation received on a horizontal surface in Ghardaia(Algeria).For this purpose,3 years of data(2013-15)have been used in model training while the data of 2016 were used to validate the *** this work,different types of mother wavelets and different combinations of input data were evaluated based on the minimum air temperature,relative humidity and extraterrestrial solar radiation on a horizontal *** results demonstrated the effectiveness of the new hybrid W-GPR model compared with the classical GPR model in terms of root mean square error(RMSE),relative root mean square error(rRMSE),mean absolute error(MAE)and determination coefficient(R^(2)).

A hybrid approach based on complete ensemble empirical mode decomposition with adaptive noise for multi-step-ahead solar radiation forecasting

Accurate measurements of solar radiation are required to ensure that power and energy systems continue to function effectively and *** the other hand,estimating it is extremely challenging due to the non-stationary behaviour and randomness of its *** this research,a novel hybrid forecasting model,namely complete ensemble empirical mode decomposition with adaptive noise-Gaussian process regression(CEEMDAN-GPR),has been developed for daily global solar radiation *** non-stationary global solar radiation series is transformed by CEEMDAN into regular *** that,the GPR model uses these subsets as inputs to perform its *** to the results of this research,the performance of the developed hybrid model is superior to two widely used hybrid models for solar radiation forecasting,namely wavelet-GPR and wavelet packet-GPR,in terms of mean square error,root mean square error,coefficient of determination and relative root mean square error values,which reached 3.23 MJ/m^(2)/day,1.80 MJ/m^(2)/day,95.56%,and 8.80%,respectively(for one-step forward forecasting).The proposed hybrid model can be used to ensure the safe and reliable operation of the electricity system.

2D Pauli Equation with Hulthén Potential in the Presence of Aharonov-Bohm Effect

The 2D Pauli equation with Hulthen potential for spin-1/2 particle in the presence of Aharonov-Bohm （AB） field is solved analytically, on the assumption that an effective approximation is used for the centrifugal term. Singular and regular solutions of the problem are obtained. It is shown that the AB field lifts the degeneracy of the energy levels. The range of the flux parameter for which singular solutions are allowed is modified compared to the pure AB case. When the screening parameter vanishes, it is shown that the obtained energy spectrum becomes the same as that of the Aharonov-Bohm Coulomb problem.

Bound States Energies of a Harmonic Oscillator Perturbed by Point Interactions

We determine explicitly the exact transcendental bound states energies equation for a one-dimensional harmonic oscillator perturbed by a single and a double point interactions via Green's function techniques using both momentum and position space representations. The even and odd solutions of the problem are discussed. The corresponding limiting cases are recovered. For the harmonic oscillator with a point interaction in more than one dimension,divergent series appear. We use to remove this divergence an exponential regulator and we obtain a transcendental equation for the energy bound states. The results obtained here are consistent with other investigations using different methods.

The P40 Cutting Tool Wear Modelization Machining Fk20MnCr5

This work presents an experimental study to describe a wear zone in the P40 cutting tools used during a dry lathing. Mechanics of cutting has been presented to investigate the effects of edge geometry of the cutting tool carbide cutting insert. In the field of the metals cutting, the wear of the cutting tools leads to a degradation of the cutting zone and work. It is thus important to study the evolution of the cutting criteria allowing to follow the tool degradation during a manufacturing operations and thus to decide whether to replace the tool or not. Three parameters: cutting speed, cutting feed and cutting depth are considered to modelize the tool wear. An experimental device, particularly, a work-piece in Fk20MnCr5 material was cutted on a conventional lath for shaping, a high resolution sensor (HRS), had been used for measuring wear zone. The rela- tionship between “the cutting speed, the depth of cut, the feed rate” are analysed and modelled. In order to deduce this shape the spline method to modelize the wear zone has been used and a mathematical model has been proposed.

Improvement Properties of the Cutting Tools Using Technical Plasma Treatment

In spite of the considerable progress made in the domain of the sciences of materials, cutting tools subjected to an intense abrasive wear and a very high temperature of edge. They record during their use an reduced working life. The operations of machining on lathe are regularly stopped for replacing these tools, which influences enormously the production process. Indeed, the search the new materials of substitution, remain a domain very coveted, owing to the fact, it belongs to one stake very significant industrial, in particular, in the mechanical domain and its varied sectors. The recourse to the thermal treatments traditional, limiting in an interval, reduces the wear and the excessive consumption of these cutting tools, but the principal concern of the experts and researchers, in the domain of the mechanical engineering, remain posed. The goal of this study is the introduction of the technique of plasmas, as physical phenomenon, for making material of coating at base of titanium nitrides doped at iron, at the different concentrations. To this objective, one magnetron sputtering with plasma was used for the realization of the coatings deposed on the active parts of the cutting tools. During the experimentation, it was noted that the cutting tools which are treated by plasma, subjected to the machining operations on lathe and the hardness tests, presents one improvement of their hardness and a remarkable increase in their lifespan.
