Enhancing Students’ Learning about Healthy Living through Community Participation

Introduction: The Health Enhancement Module (HEM) is taught as a core curriculum for all medical students at Monash University since 2002. In 2012 we moved the year three content of the program into a community setting, calling it the Health Enhancement Carnival (HEC). At the carnival, our undergraduates interacted with school students, their teachers, and their parents, involving them in a mix of discussions, poster presentations, and video presentations. In this paper we present our experience with the HEC. Specifically, we looked at the following two measures: how did the HEC influence the knowledge, attitude, and practice of healthy living among medical students? And, what were the learning experiences of the students during the HEC? Methods: Five themes (exercise, food, healthy sleep, workplace stress and ageing) were divided among students. They were asked to develop those themes with the help of posters, power point presentations, community talks as well as video presentations. The carnival was held in the setting of two nearby children’s schools. Students were evaluated by a panel of examiners with regards to learning objectives as well as preparation and presentation. As part of evaluation, we developed 2 questionnaires. The HEP Healthy Living Questionnaire provided feedback on how the program had improved students’ knowledge, attitudes, and practice of healthy living. The HEP Learning Style Questionnaire covered twelve areas, including collegiality, environment, leadership, community interaction and other facets of learning style. Analyses were performed using the IBM SPSS Statistics version 20 software in the Clinical School Johor Bahru. Results: 1) Influence of HEC on the knowledge, attitude, and practice of healthy living among medical students. From the interviews, the judges gave the students mean ratings of 4.0/5. In the era of the Internet of Things(IoT),the proliferation of connected devices has raised security concerns,increasing the risk of intrusions into diverse *** the convenience and efficiency offered by IoT technology,the growing number of IoT devices escalates the likelihood of attacks,emphasizing the need for robust security tools to automatically detect and explain *** paper introduces a deep learning methodology for detecting and classifying distributed denial of service(DDoS)attacks,addressing a significant security concern within IoT *** effective procedure of deep transfer learning is applied to utilize deep learning backbones,which is then evaluated on two benchmarking datasets of DDoS attacks in terms of accuracy and time *** leveraging several deep architectures,the study conducts thorough binary and multiclass experiments,each varying in the complexity of classifying attack types and demonstrating real-world ***,this study employs an explainable artificial intelligence(XAI)AI technique to elucidate the contribution of extracted features in the process of attack *** experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method,achieving a recall of 99.39%by the XAI bidirectional long short-term memory(XAI-BiLSTM)model.

采用水热法原位合成了P⁃Al/NaX催化剂,然后通过浸渍NaOH对其进行酸碱性调控,并探究了它在甲苯甲醇侧链烷基化反应中的催化性能。结合X射线衍射(XRD)、X射线光电子能谱(XPS)、N_(2)吸附-脱附等表征及催化活性数据发现,原位负载P、Al后,合成的磷铝硅酸盐(Na_(13)Al_(24)Si_(13)P_(11)O_(96)·H_(2)O)结构展现出较好的甲苯甲醇侧链烷基催化活性;随着NaOH负载量的增加,乙苯和苯乙烯的选择性呈先上升后下降的趋势,当负载质量分数为9%的NaOH时,苯乙烯选择性为45.84%,乙苯和苯乙烯的收率之和达到63.08%。这可能是由于NaOH的负载有利于催化剂表面碱性的提高和酸性的降低,而高的强碱性位和弱酸性位数量有利于甲苯甲醇侧链烷基化反应的进行。

Pedestrian detection and tracking are vital elements of today’s surveillance systems,which make daily life safe for ***,human detection and visualization have become essential inventions in the field of computer ***,developing a surveillance system with multiple object recognition and tracking,especially in low light and night-time,is still ***,we propose a novel system based on machine learning and image processing to provide an efficient surveillance system for pedestrian detection and tracking at *** particular,we propose a system that tackles a two-fold problem by detecting multiple pedestrians in infrared(IR)images using machine learning and tracking them using particle ***,a random forest classifier is adopted for image segmentation to identify pedestrians in an *** result of detection is investigated by particle filter to solve pedestrian *** the extensive experiment,our system shows 93%segmentation accuracy using a random forest algorithm that demonstrates high accuracy for background and roof ***,the system achieved a detection accuracy of 90%usingmultiple templatematching techniques and 81%accuracy for pedestrian ***,our system can identify that the detected object is a ***,our system provided the best results compared to the state-ofart systems,which proves the effectiveness of the techniques used for image segmentation,classification,and *** presented method is applicable for human detection/tracking,crowd analysis,and monitoring pedestrians in IR video surveillance.

Direct Shoot Regeneration from Callus of <i>Melicope lunu-ankenda</i>

Melicope lunu-ankenda is commonly used in traditional medicine. The conventional propagation method for this species is inefficient due to low propagation rate and its lengthy period to maturity. In addition, insufficient planting materials often pose a problem for the plantation sector. The tissue culture technique is best alternative to overcome the problems. The callus induction and direct shoot regeneration protocols for M. lunu-ankenda were established. Callus was successfully initiated from leaves explants cultured in MS medium added with 2,4-D at concentrations 0.5 to 5.0 mg/L singly or in combination with NAA at concentrations 1.0 to 10 mg/L. Shoot was regenerated from callus in phytohormone-free medium, BAP at concentrations 0.5 - 5.0 mg/L singly or in combination of BAP with NAA or 2,4-D at concentration 0.5 and 1.0 mg/L, respectively. BAP at 1.0 mg/L induced the highest shoot regeneration rate (80%) and number of plantlet per calli. The established methods might be used for production of phytochemicals and plantlets in large scale.

An Efficient Stacked Ensemble Model for Heart Disease Detection and Classification

Cardiac disease is a chronic condition that impairs the heart’s *** includes conditions such as coronary artery disease,heart failure,arrhythmias,and valvular heart *** conditions can lead to serious complications and even be life-threatening if not detected and managed in *** have utilized Machine Learning(ML)and Deep Learning(DL)to identify heart abnormalities swiftly and *** approaches have been applied to predict and treat heart disease utilizing ML and *** paper proposes a Machine and Deep Learning-based Stacked Model(MDLSM)to predict heart disease *** approaches such as eXtreme Gradient Boosting(XGB),Random Forest(RF),Naive Bayes(NB),Decision Tree(DT),and KNearest Neighbor(KNN),along with two DL models:Deep Neural Network(DNN)and Fine Tuned Deep Neural Network(FT-DNN)are used to detect heart *** models rely on electronic medical data that increases the likelihood of correctly identifying and diagnosing heart ***-known evaluation measures(i.e.,accuracy,precision,recall,F1-score,confusion matrix,and area under the Receiver Operating Characteristic(ROC)curve)are employed to check the efficacy of the proposed *** reveal that the MDLSM achieves 94.14%prediction accuracy,which is 8.30%better than the results from the baseline experiments recommending our proposed approach for identifying and diagnosing heart disease.
