Deciphering the Risk Factors of Autism: Are We There Yet?

Background: Autism represents a group of developmental disorder that pose a major challenge to world-wide societies and healthcare providers with limited diagnostics and medical cure. It is widely been considered as a mental disorder characterized by speech deficit and repetitive behavior. The presumed etiology of autism involves genetic, immunologic, intestinal and synaptic irregularities, aside from environmental toxicities. Yet, the prospective factor that triggers or predominates autism remains barely understood. Objective: Herein we aim to review the literature to identify the risk factors associated with the development of autism and the need to investigate the underlying pathological events. Results: Genetic factors have been widely investigated in autism for its role in inflammation, neuronal function, metabolism and detoxification. It’s assumed to be negatively impacted by heavy metals, allergens, infectious agents and environmental pollutants. Considering the fact that, these elements individually does not make up autism, one would expect a complex interplay of neuro inflammatory and gastrointestinal system in the pathophysiology of the disease. Gut-brain axis may serve as a potential pathological link representing the plethora of mechanistic events involved in the development of autism. Abnormal activation of mast and neuro glial cells may lead to deregulated expression of cytokines and neuroactive compounds, which may disrupt the blood brain barrier permeability leading to inflammation. Alternatively it may also interfere with intestinal permeability, gut physiology, microbial composition and related metabolites. Conclusion: A glance through the literature indicates the likelihood of genetic variations and environmental factors in triggering a cascade of inflammatory events leading to the development of autism. New Approach on Development a Dual Axis Solar Tracking Prototype

To track the sun in two directions that is elevation and azimuth, a dual-axis tracking prototype is developed to capture the maximum sun rays by tracking the movement of the sun in four different directions. One axis is azimuth which allows the solar panel to move left and right. The other axis is elevation and allows the panel to turn up and down. The result of this new development provides the solar panels with extensive freedom of movement. This new approach will make use of the Light Depending Resistor (LDR) which is important to detect the sun light by following the source of the sun light location. AutoCAD software is being used to design the draft in 2-dimension (2D) for the hardware dual axis solar tacker. Sketch Up software is being used to sketch the drawing to be more real in 3-dimension (3D). Proteus software is being used to design the circuit for the Arduino UNO microcontrollers and H-BridgeIC chip. This implemented system can save more energy and probably offers more reduction in cost. The paper discusses the process of hardware development and the control process of tracking the sun, as well as the circuit design.

Objective:To determine the anti-proliferative activity of Abrus precatorius(***)leaf extracts and their effect on cell ***:*** leaves were extracted successively with hexane,ethyl acetate and methanol by Soxhlet *** extract was prepared by decoction at 50 ℃.Extracts of *** leaves were used to treat selected cancer and normal cell lines for72 ***,3-(4,5-dimethyl thiazol-2-yl)2,5-diphenyl tetrazolium bromide assay was performed to determine cell *** of cell cycle arrest,apoptosis assay and apoptosis protein expressions were determined by flow ***:Methanolic extract of *** leaves showed the lowest IC50 on MDA-MB-231 cells at(26.40±5.40)μg/*** cytometry analysis revealed that cell arrest occurred at G0/G1 phase and the apoptosis assay showed the occurrence of early apoptosis at 48 h in MDAMB-231 cells treated with methanolic extract of *** *** extract of *** leaves induced apoptosis by upregulation of Bax,p53 and caspase-3 and downregulation of ***:Methanolic extract of A precatorius leaves promotes MDA-MB-231 cell death by inducing cell cycle arrest and apoptosis possibly via the mitochondrial-related pathway.

Industrial internet of things (IIoT) is the usage of internet of things(IoT) devices and applications for the purpose of sensing, processing andcommunicating real-time events in the industrial system to reduce the unnecessary operational cost and enhance manufacturing and other industrial-relatedprocesses to attain more profits. However, such IoT based smart industriesneed internet connectivity and interoperability which makes them susceptibleto numerous cyber-attacks due to the scarcity of computational resourcesof IoT devices and communication over insecure wireless channels. Therefore, this necessitates the design of an efficient security mechanism for IIoTenvironment. In this paper, we propose a hyperelliptic curve cryptography(HECC) based IIoT Certificateless Signcryption (IIoT-CS) scheme, with theaim of improving security while lowering computational and communicationoverhead in IIoT environment. HECC with 80-bit smaller key and parameterssizes offers similar security as elliptic curve cryptography (ECC) with 160-bitlong key and parameters sizes. We assessed the IIoT-CS scheme security byapplying formal and informal security evaluation techniques. We used Realor Random (RoR) model and the widely used automated validation of internet security protocols and applications (AVISPA) simulation tool for formalsecurity analysis and proved that the IIoT-CS scheme provides resistance tovarious attacks. Our proposed IIoT-CS scheme is relatively less expensivecompared to the current state-of-the-art in terms of computational cost andcommunication overhead. Furthermore, the IIoT-CS scheme is 31.25% and 51.31% more efficient in computational cost and communication overhead,respectively, compared to the most recent protocol.

We report a rapid method for synthesis of zeolitic imidazolate framework 8(ZIF-8)-decorated graphene oxide(GO)composites(ZGO)with good antibacterial *** ZGO composites were synthesized at room temperature with low GO to metal salt *** samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction,transmission electron microscopy,Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy,thermal gravimetric analysis,and surface area *** characterization results show that ZIF-8 with a size of approximately 120 nm is successfully decorated on the surface of GO sheets with the host ZIF-8 framework maintained in the synthesized composite,but there is a significant reduction in the Brunauer-Emmett-Teller surface *** antibacterial activities of the samples against Escherichia coli ATCC 11229 and Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 6538 as model strains of gram-negative and-positive bacteria,respectively,were determined by disc diffusion and minimum inhibitory concentration(MIC)***-1.0(1 wt%of ratio of GO to metal salt)shows the highest antibacterial activity with MIC values required to inhibit bacterial growth of *** and *** of 5 times lower than those of pristine *** antibacterial mechanisms are proposed based on field-emission scanning electron microscope images of the two bacteria after contact with the synthesized ***,owing to the simple synthesis,good stability,low chemical usage,and excellent antibacterial activity of the ZGO composites,they show great potential for application in the field of microbial contamination control.

Seawater samples from Pulau Perhentian,Terengganu were analysed for Cu(II)speciation *** were collected during pre-and post-monsoon seasons,in order to measure the concentration of dCu(dissolved Cu)and CuL(Natural Organic Cu(II)Binding Ligands)by using CLE-AdCSV(Competitive Ligand Exchange-Adsorptive Cathodic Stripping Voltammetry).High[dCu]and[CuL]were determined during pre-monsoon seasons due to a long NEM(Northeast Monsoon)period along with a strong El Niño *** mixing during this period was suggested to be responsible for an input of Cu from bottom sediment into the water *** Cu(II)speciation analysis has identified the presence of strong class ligands(L1),and it controls the distribution of free Cu2+***,the presence of Cu2+ions is below the toxicant level and it functions more towards the bioavailability for ***,there is no significant effect between pre-and post-monsoon season on the dissolved Cu(II)-speciation in the study area,except an influence from the El Niño phenomenon which is unclear as of yet.

Giant Angiomyolipoma Masquerading as Perinephric Abscess: A Diagnostic Conundrum

Renal angiomyolipomas are the most common benign tumours of the kidney accounting for up to 1% of all renal masses. Giant angiomyolipomas which have a size greater than 10 centimetres are rare entities with few cases reported in literature. Small angiomyolipomas are usually a symptomatic and increasing size correlates with symptomatology. These are usually incidentally detected or when symptomatic may present with an abdominal lump, flank pain or hemorrhage. Herein, we report a rare case of 45-year-old lady with giant angiomyolipoma with clinical presentation indistinguishable from perinephric abscess. The case is rare with regards to the large size of tumour and the discordant presentation unusual for an angiomyolipoma.

胆甾型液晶(CLC)具有热致变色独特的性质,因此该材料在新型温度指示器,化学传感器等方面受到广泛关注。例如,胆甾型液晶的变色温度范围可以通过以特定比例混合不同CLC材料来调节。但值得关注的问题是,CLC的热致变色特性容易受环境因素(如光,化学物质,辐射和温度)的干扰。这个问题可以通过制备微囊化CLC来解决。我们目前的工作是用五种不同的CLC材料以不同比例混合以获得对不同温度响应的基本颜色变化。对于我们的最终产品,胆固醇乙酸酯(CA),苯甲酸胆固醇酯(CB),氯化胆固醇(CC),胆甾醇壬酸酯(CN)和胆甾醇油酸碳酸酯(COC)的质量比为1:2:3:2:1,变色温度范围为40～70℃,适用于防伪应用。CLC材料的混合物通过使用光聚合诱导相分离方法分别在NOA61和PEGMA中微胶囊化。研究了影响微胶囊化过程和微胶囊性质的因素,如核壳比,乳化率,乳化时间,搅拌速率,乳化剂含量和紫外线照射时间等。乳化率,乳化剂含量和搅拌速度对微胶囊的大小,壳厚和粒径分布有显着影响。微胶囊的最优化条件是核/壳质量比7:1;乳化剂含量为3 wt%;乳化速率1500 rpm和UV照射2小时。通过使用PDMS印章的接触印刷方法成功地将CLC微胶囊图案化。通过软光刻并用氧等离子体处理制备PDMS印章以获得CLC微胶囊更好的印刷效果。印刷后的CLC微胶囊可以用作温度指示剂。在另一部分工作中,我们设计、制造了一种无焰加热贴片并投入到生物医学应用上。通过铁粉与氧的放热反应产生热量,并通过石蜡和三水乙酸钠(相变材料)控制放热。通过对材料进行优化处理,可实现将静脉输液管持续加热约3小时并将温度控制在30～40 ℃的目标。

Credible Online News？ Yes or No

Dissemination of information medium are no longer limited to newspapers, television and radio but is extending to the online news. The number of online news readers is rapidly increasing along with the popularity of the Internet. However, only sources that emphasizes the element of credibility will be accepted by the readers. This study was conducted to determine the credibility of online news; to identify the relationship between online news credibility and youth acceptance. Using a quantitative approach, a total of 400 youth selected to participate in the study out of the 68,000 population in Selangor. The data was analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Science （SPSS） version 21.0. This study shows that a group of young women were the common group who seek and read online information. Based on the findings too, online news in Malaysia are less credible. Although the online news is less credible, the results shows that youth read online news because the contents are current and up to date. Further, result of the Pearson＇s correlation test shows that the more credible elements available in online news, the more that medium is accepted by youth.
