This paper describes severe plastic deformation(SPD)procedures,which are utilized to form an ultrafine-grained structure in metallic *** the SPD process,a solid material sample is subjected to very high loads without a significant change in sample *** the present work,the high-pressure torsion(HPT)process,as one of the SPD techniques,which achieves a high degree of deformation and ensures refinement of the microstructure,will be discussed in more *** that grain size control is accepted as a method to obtain materials with desired characteristics,an overview of the properties of ultrafine-grained titanium-based biomaterials to be used in medicine is ***,particular attention is dedicated to the influences of HPT process parameters,primarily hydrostatic pressure,and number of revolutions during torsion,on the grain size and physical and mechanical characteristics(modulus of elasticity,microhardness,and tensile properties),corrosion resistance,and biocompatibility of the titanium-based biomaterials.A review of the literature indicates that titanium-based materials obtained by the SPD process show improved mechanical and physical properties without losing biocompatibility and corrosion resistance,which suggests that these methods of obtaining implants are something that should be further developed in the future.

We consider the problem of viscosity solution of integro-partial differential equation( IPDE in short) with one obstacle via the solution of reflected backward stochastic dif ferential equations(RBSDE in short) with jumps. We show the existence and uniqueness of a continuous viscosity solution of equation with non local terms, if the generator is not monotonous and Levy's measure is infinite.

A Novel Three-Staged Generative Model for Skeletonizing Chinese Characters with Versatile Styles

Skeletons of characters provide vital information to support a variety of tasks,e.g.,optical character recogni-tion,image restoration,stroke segmentation and extraction,and style learning and ***,automatically skele-tonizing Chinese characters poses a steep computational challenge due to the large volume of Chinese characters and their versatile styles,for which traditional image analysis approaches are error-prone and *** deep learning based approach requires a heavy amount of manual labeling efforts,which imposes serious limitations on the precision,robust-ness,scalability and generalizability of an algorithm to solve a specific *** tackle the above challenge,this paper introduces a novel three-staged deep generative model developed as an image-to-image translation approach,which signifi-cantly reduces the model's demand for labeled training *** new model is built upon an improved G-net,an en-hanced X-net,and a newly proposed *** compellingly demonstrated by comprehensive experimental results,the new model is able to iteratively extract skeletons of Chinese characters in versatile styles with a high quality,which noticeably outperforms two state-of-the-art peer deep learning methods and a classical thinning algorithm in terms of F-measure,Hausdorff distance,and average Hausdorff distance.

Cenozoic ultrahigh-temperature metamorphism in pelitic granulites from the Mogok metamorphic belt, Myanmar

Ultrahigh-temperature(UHT)metamorphism is critical for understanding the most extreme thermal evolution of continental ***,UHT metamorphism predominantly occurred in the Precambrian and is rarely observed in the modern ***,we report the discovery of~25 Ma UHT granulites from the Mogok metamorphic belt(MMB)in Myanmar via a combined study of petrology and *** studied pelitic granulites well preserve a peak mineral assemblage of garnet+sillimanite+plagioclase(antiperthite)+K-feldspar+quartz+Ti-rich biotite+rutile+***(P)-temperature(T)pseudosections and conventional geothermobarometry data only constrain the P-T conditions of the peak stage tometer and X_(Grs) isopleth in the pseudosections yield peak P-T conditions of~12 kbar and>900°*** situ SIMS and LAICP-MS U-Pb dating and trace element analyses show that both metamorphic zircon cores and rims have flat heavy rare earth element(HREE)patterns with negative Eu *** metamorphic zircon rims show the lowest HREE contents and yield ^(206)Pb/^(238)U ages of 24.9±0.5 and 25.4±0.6 Ma,respectively,representing the timing of UHT *** results indicate that the central MMB underwent~25 Ma UHT metamorphism,which is possibly induced by continental rifting along the thinned orogenic *** data,as well as reported Cenozoic UHT events,further suggest that UHT metamorphism can be produced in the modern plate tectonic regime by lithospheric extension.

Current experience and future directions of completely NOTES colorectal resection

Clinical implementation and widespread application of natural orifice translumenal surgery(NOTES) has been limited by the lack of specialized endoscopic equipment,which has prevented the ability to perform complex procedures including colorectal *** to other types of translumenal access,transanal NOTES using transanal endoscopic microsurgery(TEM) prov ides a stable platform for endolumenal and direct translumenal access to the peritoneal cavity,and specifically to the colon and *** NOTES transanal rectosigmoid resection using TEM,with or without transgastric endoscopic assistance,was demonstrated to be feasible and safe in a swine survival *** same technique was successfully replicated in human cadavers using commercially available TEM,with endoscopic and laparoscopic *** approach also permitted complete rectal mobilization with total mesorectal excision to be performed completely *** in the swine model,transgastric and/or transanal endoscopic assistance extended the length of proximal colon mobilized and overcame some of the difficulties with TEM dissection including limited endoscopic visualization and maladapted *** extensive laboratory experience with NOTES transanal rectosigmoid resection served as the basis for the first human NOTES transanal rectal cancer excision using TEM and laparoscopic *** on this early clinical experience,NOTES transanal approach using TEM holds significant promise as a safe and substantially less morbid alternative to conventional colorectal resection in the management of benign and malignant colorectal *** patient selection and substantial improvement in NOTES instrumentation are critical to optimize this approach prior to widespread clinical application,and may ultimately permit completely NOTES transanal colorectal resection.

Study on the Safety and Prevention Technology of Coal Mining under the River in Xingyuan Coal Mine

Coal mining-induced surface subsidence poses significant ecological and infrastructural challenges, necessitating a comprehensive study to ensure safe mining practices, particularly in underwater conditions. This project aims to address the extensive impact of coal mining on the environment, infrastructure, and overall safety, focusing on the Shigong River area above the working face. The study employs qualitative and quantitative analyses, along with on-site engineering measurements, to gather data on crucial parameters such as coal seam characteristics, roof rock lithology, thickness, water resistance, and structural damage degree. The research encompasses a multidisciplinary approach, involving mining, geology, hydrogeology, geophysical exploration, rock mechanics, mine surveying, and computational mathematics. The importance of effective safety measures and prevention techniques is emphasized, laying the foundation for research focused on the Xingyun coal mine. The brief concludes by highlighting the potential economic and social benefits of this project and its contribution to valuable experience for future subsea coal mining.

Magnetoresistivity studies for BiPb-2223 phase added by BaSnO3 nanoparticles

Co-precipitation method and conventional solid-state reaction technique were used to synthesize BaSnO3 nanoparticles and (BaSnO3)x/Bi1.6Pb0.4Sr2Ca2Cu3O10+δ (0≤x≤ 1.50w t％) samples,respectively.X-ray powder diffraction (XRD),scanning electron microscopy (SEM),and electrical resistivity data were used to characterize BiPb-2223 phase added by BaSnO3 *** relative volume fraction and superconducting transition temperature Tc of BiPb-2223 phase were enhanced by increasing BaSnO3 addition up to 0.50 wt％.These parameters were decreased with further increase of *** resistive transition broadening under different applied DC magnetic fields (0.29-4.40kG) was analyzed through thermally activated flux creep (TAFC) model and Ambegaokar-Halperin (AH) *** of the derived flux pinning energy U,critical current density Jc (0) estimated from AH parameter C(B),and upper critical magnetic field Bc2 (0),were recorded by adding BaSnO3 nanoparticles up to 0.50 wt％,beyond which these parameters were *** magnetic field dependence of the flux pinning energy and critical current density decreased as a power-law relation,which indicated the single junction sensitivity between the superconducting grains to the applied magnetic ***,the increase in the applied magnetic field did not affect the electronic thermal conductivity Ke above the superconducting transition temperature and suppressed it below Tc.

Dependency-aware unequal erasure protection codes

Classical unequal erasure protection schemes split data to be protected into classes which are encoded independently. The unequal protection scheme presented in this paper is based on an erasure code which encodes all the data together according to the existing dependencies. A simple algorithm generates dynamically the generator matrix of the erasure code according to the packets streams structure, i.e., the dependencies between the packets, and the rate of the code. This proposed erasure code was applied to a packetized MPEG4 stream transmitted over a packet erasure channel and compared with other classical protection schemes in terms of PSNR and MOS. It is shown that the proposed code allows keeping a high video quality-level in a larger packet loss rate range than the other protection schemes.

Cholera in Guinea: The Implication for Safe Water Sources and Sanitations

Objectives: To lay stress upon the importance of adequate water and sanitation in the prevention of cholera in Guinea. methods: The data on deaths and cases of cholera in Guinea from 2000 to 2011 were downloaded from the WHO Official website. The data on deaths and cases of cholera outbreak which occurred in Guinea from 02 February to 15 October 2012 were collected from the Guinean Ministry of Public Health. The cholera index case is confirmed by a laboratory test. Cholera cases were defined as individuals over one year old who had had watery stools with or without vomiting. Cholera incidence and case fatality rates between different areas of cholera occurrence in the country over time were computed. Results: Over the overall 12-year period (2000-2012), the case fatality rate showed a somewhat sign of slight rising trend when the incidence rates increased rapidly. During the seven consecutive years of cholera outbreaks in Guinea, between 2003 and 2009, the most affected areas were Conakry, Dubreka, Coyah, Boffa, Forécariah, Guékédou, Dalaba and Télimélé. In 2012, Cholera outbreak resulted in an incidence rate of 23.23 per 10,000 population and a case fatality ratio (CFR) of approximately 1.8%. Cases and deaths were reported in 12 prefectures out of 34: Conakry, Coyah, Forecariah, Fria, Boffa, Dubréka, Boké, Mamou, Kindia, Kankan, Kerouané and Dabola. Conclusion: Cholera is an important health problem in Guinea. Any earnest attempts to improve water and sanitation alongside with promotion of good hygienic practices will likely ward off the threat of cholera in the country.
