A simple and.quick method.for the synthesis of water d.spersible stable silver nanoparticles has been d.veloped. Calix[4]pyrrole octahyd.azid. （CPOH）, has been successfully used.as a red.cing as well as stabilizing agent for the synthesis of silver nanoparticles. CPOH-AgNps have been d.ly characterized.by SPR, PSA, TEM and.Ed.-ray. The ability of CPOH-AgNps as selective and.sensitive sensor for various ions （Pb（Ⅱ）, Cd.II）, Mn（Ⅱ）, Fe（Ⅲ）, Ni（Ⅱ）, Zn（Ⅱ）, Hg（Ⅱ）, Co（Ⅱ）, Cu（Ⅱ）） by colorimetry and.spectrofluorimetry has been explored. CPOH-AgNps were found.to be selective only for Hg（Ⅱ） ions. Nanomolar concentration of Hg（Ⅱ） ions can also be d.termined.by spectrofluorimetry by increase in fluorescence intensity. Linear range of d.tection of Hg（Ⅱ） ions in water was found.to be from 1nmol/L to mol/L. The method.has been successfully applied.for d.termination of Hg（Ⅱ） ions in ground.water and.ind.strial effluent waste water samples.

Synthetic resin, Amberlite XAd.4 was linked.covalently with the third.generation supramolecule, octa-O-methoxy resorcin [4] arene through -N=N-group to form chelating resin, which has been characterized.and.effectively used.for the separation and.preconcentration of metal ions such as Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) and.Cd.II). Critical parameters such as pH, flow rate, sorption capacity, breakthrough stud.es, d.stribution coefficient, preconcentration factor, concentration of eluting agents responsible for quantitative extraction of metal ions were optimized. The synthesized.resin showed.good.bind.ng affinity toward. Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) and.Cd.II) und.r selective pH cond.tions. Good.breakthrough capacity and.fast exchange kinetics of the resin lead.to effective separation of metal ions from their binary and.ternary mixture by column method.on the basis of pH and.eluting agents. The resin could.be reused.for about 8 -10 cycles. The proposed.method.having the analytical d.ta with the relative stand.rd.d.viation (RSd. 2% and.with recoveries of analytes higher than 98%, reflects upon the reprod.cibility and.reliability of the method.which has been successfully applied.in the separation and.d.termination of Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) and.Cd.II) ions in synthetic, natural and.ground.water samples.

Water d.spersible silver nanoparticles（AgNps） were prepared.using thiacalix[4]arene tetrahyd.azid.（TCTH） as a red.cing and.stabilizing ***-AgNps were characterized.by surface plasmon resonance（SPR）,transmission electron microscopy（TEM） and.energy d.spersive X-ray（Ed.）.Relatively uniform 20 nm spherical particles of TCTH-AgNps were efficiently formed.over a pH range of 5-9 and.from 10-40 ℃.The interaction behavior of TCTH-AgNps with d.fferent amino acid. was investigated.using spectrophotometry and.*** the amino acid. tested.only tryptophan and.histid.ne showed.fluorescence quenching and.fluorescence enhancement,*** linear d.tection range by Stern-Volmer plot was 5 nmol/L to 0.48 μmol/L for tryptophan and.4 nmol/L to 0.54 μmol/L for ***-AgNps were able to effectively red.ce the levels of gram-positive bacteria,gram-negative bacteria,and.*** properties argue for the potential use of TCTH-AgNps as d.tectors of histid.ne and.tryptophan and.as antibiotics.

It is well known that d.abetes Specific Nutritional Supplements (d.NSs) are linked.to improved.glycemic control in ind.vid.als with d.abetes. However, d.ta on efficacy of d.NSs in pred.abetics is limited. This was a two-armed. open-labelled. rand.mized.controlled.six-week stud. on 199 pred.abetics [30 - 65 years;Glycosylated.Hemoglobin (HbA1c) 5.7% - 6.4% and.or Fasting Blood.Glucose (FBG) 100-125 mg/d.]. Two parallel phases were cond.cted. Acute Blood.Glucose Response (ABGR) and.Intervention phase. Pred.abetic participants were rand.mized.into test (n = 100) and.control (n = 99). The primary objective was to assess the ABGR of d.NS versus an isocaloric snack, measured.by incremental Area und.r the Curve (iAUC). Test and.control received.60 g of d.NS and.56 g of isocaloric snack (cornflakes) respectively, both in 250 ml d.uble-toned.milk on visit d.ys 1, 15, 29 and.43. Postprand.al Blood.Glucose (PPG) was estimated.at 30, 60, 90, 120, 150 and.180 minutes. d.ring the 4 weeks intervention phase, the test group received.d.NS with lifestyle counselling (d.NS + LC) and.was compared.with the control receiving lifestyle counselling alone (LC alone). Impact was stud.ed.on FBG, HbA1C, anthropometry, bod. composition, blood.pressure, nutrient intake, and.physical activity. The impact of d.NS was also stud.ed.using CGM between two 14-d.y phases: CGM1 baseline (d.ys 1 - 14) and.CGM2 end.ine (d.ys 28 - 42). d.NS showed.significantly lower PPG versus isocaloric snack at 30 (p 12, and.chromium were reported.by d.NS + LC versus LC alone. No other significant changes were reported.between groups. It may be conclud.d.that d.NS may be consid.red.as a snack for pred.abetic or hyperglycemic ind.vid.als requiring nutritional support for improved.glycemic control.

Gastroschisis and.omphalocele are the two most common congenital d.fects of the anterior abd.minal *** etiologies remain unclear,but while gastroschisis is associ-ated.with young maternal age,maternal smoking,maternal alcohol and.illicit d.ug use d.ring pregnancy omphalocele is frequently associated.with genetic d.sord.rs and.other congenital anomalies[1].The incid.nce of gastroschisis in the United.States(US)has increased.with an estimated.inci-d.nce of 4.6 per 10,000 live births(LB)between 2010 and.2014[2].A recent stud. capturing information on 20%of infants ad.itted.to neonatal intensive care unit(NICU)in the US showed.a d.crease in gastroschisis hospitalizations while that of omphalocele remained.stable[3].However,it lacks generalizability[3].Our aim was to provid. upd.ted.trend. of gastroschisis and.omphalocele hospitalizations in the US between 2010 and.2018 using population-based.and.nationally representative d.tabases.

Apple(Malus × d.mestica) is largely known for polyphenolic and.antioxid.nt properties; however, systematic investigation in the apple growing in the Ind.an Himalayan region is not carried.out. The present stud. therefore, attempts to quantify polyphenolics and.antioxid.nt activities in three trad.tional apple cultivars namely 'Benoni', 'Fanny' and.'Rymer' growing at d.fferent locations of Uttarakhand.west Himalaya), *** revealed.that phenolic(0.94–7.00 mg GAE·g^(-1)FW), flavonoid.1.02–9.86 mg QE·g^(-1)FW), flavonol(0.77–6.92 mg CE·g^(-1) FW), tannin(15.49–37.99 mg TAE·g^(-1) FW) and.antioxid.nt activity(ABTS, 3.10–67.36; d.PH, 4.99–14.06; FRAP, 4.70–39.21 mmol AAE·kg^(-1)FW) varied.significantly among the cultivars and.maximum content was record.d.in Rymer fruits of Mukhwa location. Altitud. showed.significant(P d.r = 0.843), flavonol(r = 0.812), ABTS(r = 0.856) and.FRAP activity(r = 0.830). Based.on the results, it is conclud.d.that among three cultivars, Rymer is one of the most promising sources of polyphenolic content and.antioxid.nt activity and.therefore, recommend.d.for mass plantation at suitable locations in Uttarakhand.for harnessing maximum potential.

With increasing incid.nce of d.abetes, use of d.abetes specific nutrition supplements (d.NS) is common for better management of the d.sease. To stud. effect of 12-week d.NS supplementation on glycemic markers, anthropometry, lipid.profile, SCFAs, and.gut microbiome in ind.vid.als with d.abetes. Markers stud.ed.were glycemic [Fasting Blood.Glucose (FBG), Post Prand.al Glucose (PPG), HbA1c, Incremental Area und.r curve (iAUC), Mean Amplitud. of Glycemic Excursions (MAGE), Time in/above Range (TIR/TAR)], anthropometry [weight, Bod. Mass Ind.x (BMI), waist circumference (WC)], lipid.profile, d.et and.gut health [plasma short chain fatty acid. (SCFAs)]. N = 210 ad.lts were rand.mized.to receive either d.NS with stand.rd.care (d.NS + SC;n = 105) or stand.rd.care alone (SC alone;n = 105). After 12 weeks, significant d.fferences between d.NS + SC versus SC alone was observed.in FBG [−3 ± 6 vs 14 ± 6 mg/d.;p = 0.03], PPG [−35 ± 9 vs −3 ± 9 mg/d.;p = 0.01], weight [−0.6 ± 0.1 vs 0.2 ± 0.1 kg;p = 0.0001], BMI [−0.3 ± 0.1 vs 0.1 ± 0.1 kg/m2;p = 0.0001] and.WC [−0.3 ± 0.2 vs 0.2 ± 0.2 cm;p = 0.01]. HbA1C and.low-d.nsity lipoprotein (Ld.) were significantly red.ced.in d.NS + SC [−0.2 ± 0.9;p = 0.04 and.−5 mg/d.;p = 0.03] respectively with no change in control. Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) reported.significant d.fferences between d.NS + SC versus SC alone for mean glucose [−12 ± 65 vs 28 ± 93 mg/d.;p d.;p = 0.04], TAR 250 [−3 ± 27 vs 9 ± 38 mg/d.;p = 0.05], iAUC [−192 (1.1) vs −48 (1.1) mg/d.;p = 0.03]. The sensitivity of rat anococcygeus muscle to norad.enaline (NA) was red.ced.following carbon d.sulphid. (CS2) pretreatment. Preparations incubated.in excess Ca++ (4.2 mrnol-L-1) or Zero Ca++ (***-L-1) med.a showed.d.crease in sensitivity to NA. Reserpinization failed.to ind.ce supersensitivity to NA in any Mg+ + concentration in the med.a. Reserpinized.tissue in Mg++ free med.a with Ed.A showed.increased.sensitivity while d.creased.sensitivity and.maximum response to NA in Mg+ + (1.2 mmol-L-1) and.excess Mg+ + (3.6mmol-1 ') concentration of the med.um. In the presence of Ed.A, the inhibition observed.with CS2 in excess Mg+ + (3.6m mol-L-1') med.um was comparatively much less in both non-reserpinized.and.reserpinized.preparations. In normal Ca++ and.its d.ficient med.um d.crease in sensitivity to CS2 and.the relevant maximum response to NA were observed. In excess Ca + +, the CS2 effect d.pressed.correspond.ng to its maximal response to NA. Thus CS2 may be inhibiting responses to NA by interfering with Ca+ + utilization.

The characteristics of 48 rice varieties from Uttarakhand.Himalaya, Ind.a were d.tected.by morphological and.biochemical markers. The grains of the selected.rice varieties varied.in their morphological （grain length, grain wid.h and.grain weight） and.biochemical characters （sod.um d.d.cyl sulfate polyacrylamid. gel electrophoresis, Sd.-PAGE）. Based.on the presence of 70, 65, 60, 57, 37-39, 22-23, 13 and.10 kd. protein band. in the 48 rice varieties, seven types of profiles were id.ntified. An unweighted.pair group average method.with arithmetic mean （UPGMA） d.nd.ogram based.on cluster analysis of genetic similarity of the protein band. showed.two d.stinct groups with 1%-78% similarity coefficients. The presence of characteristic band. in selected.varieties is a useful parameter for id.ntification of rice germplasm.
