Naringin exists in a wide range of Chinese herbal medicine and has proven to possess several pharmacological properties.In this study,PC12,HepG2 cells,and female Drosophila melanogaster were used to investigate the antioxidative and anti-aging effects of naringin and explore the underlying mechanisms.The results showed that naringin inhibited H_(2)O_(2)-induced decline in cell viability and decreased,the content of reactive oxygen species in cells.Meanwhile,naringin prolonged the lifespan of flies,enhanced the abilities of climbing and the resistance to stress,improved the activities of antioxidant enzymes,and decreased malondialdehyde content.Naringin also improved intestinal barrier dysfunction and reduced abnormal proliferation of intestinal stem cells.Moreover,naringin down-regulated the mRNA expressions of inr,chico,pi 3k,and akt-1,and up-regulated the mRNA expressions of dilp2,dilp3,dilp5,and foxo,thereby activating autophagy-related genes and increasing the number of lysosomes.Furthermore,the mutant stocks assays and computer molecular simulation results further indicated that naringin delayed aging by inhibiting the insulin signaling(IIS)pathway and activating the autophagy pathway,which was consistent with the result of network pharmacological predictions.

Background The ongoing Coronavirus disease of 2019(COVID-19)pandemic has hit Brazil hard in period of different dominant variants.Different COIVD-19 variants have swept through the region,resulting that the total number of cases in Brazil is the third highest in the world.This study is aimed at investigating the regional heterogeneity of in-hospital mortality of COVID-19 in Brazil and the effects of vaccination and social inequality.Methods We fitted a multivariate mixed-effects Cox model to a national database of inpatient data in Brazil who were admitted for COVID-19 from February 27,2020 to March 15,2022.The in-hospital mortality risks of vaccinated and unvaccinated patients were compared,with adjustment for age,state,ethnicity,education and comorbidities.And the effects of variables to in-hospital mortality were also compared.Stratified analysis was conducted across different age groups and vaccine types.Results By fitting the multivariate mixed-effects Cox model,we concluded that age was the most important risk factor for death.With regards to educational level,illiterate patients(hazard ratio:1.63,95%CI:1.56–1.70)had a higher risk than those with a university or college degree.Some common comorbidities were more dangerous for hospitalized patients,such as liver disease(HR:1.46,95%CI:1.34–1.59)and immunosuppression(HR:1.32,95%CI:1.26–1.40).In addition,the states involving Sergipe(HR:1.75,95%CI:1.46–2.11),Roraima(HR:1.65,95%CI:1.43–1.92),Maranhão(HR:1.57,95%CI:1.38–1.79),Acre(HR:1.44,95%CI:1.12–1.86),and Rondônia(HR:1.26,95%CI:1.10–1.44)in the north and the northeast region tended to have higher hazard ratios than other area.In terms of vaccine protection,vaccination did not significantly reduce mortality among hospitalized patients.Sinovac and AstraZeneca offered different protection in different regions,and no vaccine provided high protection in all regions.Conclusion The study revealed the regional heterogeneity of in-hospital mortality of Covid-19 in Brazil and the effects of vaccination and social inequa

Caries is considered to be the most prevalent non-communicable disease in humans, mainly deriving from acidogenic bacterial biofilm and resulting in the demineralization and decomposition of hard dental tissue. Herein, a composite responsive foam brace loaded with magnesium organic framework (MPC) is designed for caries prevention and tooth remineralization. MPC can intelligently release organic antibacterial molecules (gallic acid) and mineralized ions (Mg2+, Ca2+ and PO43􀀀 ) under acidic conditions (pH < 5.5) of biofilm infection, regulating pH and killing bacteria. Additionally, due to the excellent photothermal conversion efficiency, MPC can further enhance the destruction of bacterial biofilm by inhibiting virulence genes and destroying bacterial adhesion under near-infrared light irradiation (808 nm). More importantly, MPC can not only reverse the cariogenic environment at both pH and microbial levels, but also promote self-healing of demineralized teeth in terms of both the micro-structure and mechanical properties.

Apoptosis is very important for the maintenance of cellular homeostasis and is closely related to the occurrence and treatment of many diseases.Mitochondria in cells play a crucial role in programmed cell death and redox processes.Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide(NAD(P)H)is the primary producer of energy in mitochondria,changing NAD(P)H can directly reflect the physiological state of mitochondria.Therefore,NAD(P)H can be used to evaluate metabolic response.In this paper,we propose a noninvasive detection method that uses two-photon fluorescence lifetime imaging microscopy(TP-FLIM)to characterize apoptosis by observing the binding kinetics of cellular endogenous NAD(P)H.The result shows that the average fluorescence lifetime of NAD(P)H and the fluorescence lifetime of protein-bound NAD(P)H will be affected by the changing pH,serum content,and oxygen concentration in the cell culture environment,and by the treatment with reagents such as H2O2 and paclitaxel.Taxol(PTX).This noninvasive detection method realized the dynamic detection of cellular endogenous substances and the assessment of apoptosis.

Designing advanced electrocatalysts for the oxygen evolution reaction（OER） is of great significance owing to its crucial role in facilitating the production of clean hydrogen energy via water splitting.To date,it has been widely accepted that a pre-oxidation process with the in-situ generation of the catalytically active high-valence metal sites is essential for promoting the OER behavior of most transition-metal-based OER catalysts,or more felicitously speaking,pre-catalysts.Hence,exploring such pre-catalysts with high pre-oxidation reactivity is of high promise.Herein,we proposed the dual elemental modulation in the cationic and anionic sites of the multi-metal Prussian blue analogue（PBA） pre-catalysts,resulting in promoted OER behavior benefitted from the efficient preoxidation ability as well as the multi-metal synergy.Detailed investigations indicate that the Co-containing multimetallic cations and mixed FeⅢCoⅢcyanide anions in NiCuCoⅡ-FeⅢCoⅢPBA（denoted as NiCuCoⅡ-FeⅢCoⅢ） are beneficial to OER catalysis owing to the high intrinsic activity guaranteed by the local Co3+active sites as well as the optimal multi-metal synergy.After the facile pre-oxidation process,additional high-valence Ni,Cu and Fe ions can be in-situ formed and serve as the active sites,thereby resulting in significantly improved OER behavior.For example,the OER current density of NiCuCoⅡ-FeⅢCoⅢexhibits 1.81 times enhancement even after 72 h continuous OER catalysis,and the required overpotential for 10 mA cm-2reduces from 288 mV for the fresh precatalyst to a remarkable record of 251 mV after the pre-oxidation-induced activation,making the optimal PBA-based catalyst a promising candidate for efficient and durable water electrolysis.

Interleukin-26(IL-26),originally called AK155,is one of the cytokines of the IL-10 cytokine family,and its gene is located in human chromosome region 12q15.IL-26 signals through the receptors IL-20R1 and IL-10R2,which form a heterodimer,targets specific cells and induces activation of the JAK-STAT pathway,allowing the rapid phosphorylation of STAT1 and STAT3 and the initiation of their effects.1 This signaling plays an important role in the regulation of host defense and inflammatory diseases.However,whether the role of IL-26 in the progression of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)occurs via autophagy remains unclear.Here,we analyzed the association between IL-26 levels and the clinicopathological characteristics of 115 patients with HCC and found that IL-26 levels were particularly associated with tumor stage and survival.We found that IL-26 levels were associated with the prognosis of HCC patients.Furthermore,we found that increased autophagy by IL-26 was dependent on the JAK-STAT3 signaling pathway,which could result in the inhibition of the migration and invasion abilities of these HCC cells.These findings suggest that the levels of IL-26 may be a useful prognostic marker for HCC patients and may offer insights into the clinical application of IL-26 in the future.

Thin NASICON Electrolyte to Realize High Energy Density Solid-State Sodium Metal Battery

The solid-state electrolyte in a solid-state battery acts as an electrons'barrier and an ions'bridge between the two electrodes.As solid-state electrolyte does not store the mobile ions,it is necessary to achieve a thin solid-state electrolyte to reduce the internal resistance and enhance the energy density.In this work,a thin NASICON solid-state electrolyte,with a stoichiometry of Na_(3)Zr_(2)Si_(2)PO_(12),is fabricated by the tape-casting method and its thickness can be easily controlled by the gap between substrate and scraper.The areal-specific resistance and the flexural strength increase with the electrolyte thickness.A solid-state sodium metal battery with 86 pm thick Na_(3)Zr_(2)Si_(2)PO_(12)exhibits a reversible specific capacity of 73-78 mAh g^(-1)with a redox potential of 3.4 V at 0.2 C.This work presents the importance of electrolyte thickness to reduce internal resistance and achieve a high energy density for sodium batteries.

[目的]本文旨在探究硝化作用强度对强化生物除磷(EBPR)工艺运行效果的影响。[方法]采用厌氧-好氧型序批式生物反应器(SBR)驯化得到EBPR污泥,将进水氨氮浓度提高至48 mg·L^(-1),比较无硝化抑制剂和添加硝化抑制剂2种条件下EBPR系统中硝化作用强度及除磷效率的变化,分析硝化作用强度对EBPR工艺运行效果的影响。在系统运行各阶段均取1个周期,测定混合液中磷酸根、氨氮、硝氮、亚硝氮质量浓度以及EBPR污泥中糖原、聚羟基烷酸(PHA)含量的周期变化,分析硝化作用强度对聚磷菌代谢的影响。[结果]在进水氨氮浓度提高至48 mg·L^(-1)且无硝化抑制剂的情况下,硝化作用强度逐渐增强,17 d后硝化反应速率上升至1.45~1.80 mg·h^(-1)·g^(-1),系统出现了好氧磷释放现象,导致除磷效率大幅下降,同时出现糖原的降解量与合成量显著上升、PHA的合成量与降解量显著下降等代谢异常现象;再次加入硝化抑制剂,系统的除磷功能在24 h内恢复正常。[结论]EBPR工艺运行效果与硝化作用强度密切相关,当硝化反应速率上升到一定程度时可引起好氧磷释放现象,导致EBPR工艺除磷效率大幅下降。

针对可再生能源不确定性导致电力系统消纳能力不足的问题,提出一种基于条件生成对抗网络与迁移学习融合的风电集群功率超短期预测方法。首先,分析了风电集群功率预测样本模式的不均衡性以及导致的神经网络预测误差偏移现象;其次,构建了条件生成对抗网络修复不均衡问题;最后,采用迁移学习结合时间卷积网络构建了风电集群功率超短期预测模型。测试结果表明,所提方法能够显著提高风电集群功率超短期预测精度。
