Vertical graphene nanosheetsmodiBed Al current collectors for high-performance sodium-ion batteries

Rechargeable sodium-ion batteries(SIBs)are promising candidates for large-scale energy storage owing to their excellent high-power ***,Al-based current collectorsat both anodes and cathodes of SIBs,which widely influence the power properties of a variety of electrodes in SIBs,have rarely been ***,we demonstrate that vertical graphene nanosheets grown on commercial Al foil by the plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition(PECVD)method,form a robust connection with the carbon-based conductive network of the electrode,thereby significantly reducing the electrode current collector interfacial *** sodium vanadium phosphate(NVP)anodes with vertical graphenenanosheetmodified Al foil(G-AI)current collectors,the interfacial resistance between the electrode and current collector is reduced 20-fold compared with that in the case of Al *** G-AI current collector reduces the polarization and improves the rate capability compared with that of Al current collectors within both cathodes and anodes of *** a high rate of 5 C,the capacity retention of NVP cathode with G-AI current collector is 74%,which is much higher than that with AI foil(22%).We believe that the obtained results support the prospect for the widespread use of G-AI current collectors in the further improvement of high-power profiles of SIBs.

Adaptive Evolution of the Ventral Scale Microornamentations among Three Snake Species

Research on the ecological effect of microronamentations on the scale surface in reptiles has been carried out over the past few *** is found that the microornamentation pattern in reptiles is related to their *** study examined the wettability on scale surface,as well as the differences in microornamentation on ventral scales from the mid-body region in three snake species,Hypsiscopus plumbea(aquatic),Oocatochus rufodorsata(semi-aquatic) and Elaphe carinata(terricolous).Moreover,the scale specimens were metallized and analyzed using scanning electron *** results showed that there are microornamentations on the ventral scale surfaces of the tested species,which showed interspecific *** be specific,the aquatic snake shows the narrow,fine and regular denticulations which are connected to reduce friction and dirt *** contrast,the terrestrial snake acquired the wider and shorter denticulation which would render more friction during locomotion but it shows greater water resistance to improve the capacity of dirt shedding and compensate for the disadvantage of short and wide ***,the denticulation characteristics of the semi-aquatic snake fell in between those of aquatic and terrestrial ***,it is deduced in this study that the ventral scale microornamentations in snakes contribute to ecological adaptation to their preferential microhabitats.

Dual elemental modulation in cationic and anionic sites of the multi-metal Prussian blue analogue pre-catalysts for promoted oxygen evolution reaction

Designing advanced electrocatalysts for the oxygen evolution reaction（OER） is of great significance owing to its crucial role in facilitating the production of clean hydrogen energy via water *** date,it has been widely accepted that a pre-oxidation process with the in-situ generation of the catalytically active high-valence metal sites is essential for promoting the OER behavior of most transition-metal-based OER catalysts,or more felicitously speaking,***,exploring such pre-catalysts with high pre-oxidation reactivity is of high ***,we proposed the dual elemental modulation in the cationic and anionic sites of the multi-metal Prussian blue analogue（PBA） pre-catalysts,resulting in promoted OER behavior benefitted from the efficient preoxidation ability as well as the multi-metal *** investigations indicate that the Co-containing multimetallic cations and mixed FeⅢCoⅢcyanide anions in NiCuCoⅡ-FeⅢCoⅢPBA（denoted as NiCuCoⅡ-FeⅢCoⅢ） are beneficial to OER catalysis owing to the high intrinsic activity guaranteed by the local Co3+active sites as well as the optimal multi-metal *** the facile pre-oxidation process,additional high-valence Ni,Cu and Fe ions can be in-situ formed and serve as the active sites,thereby resulting in significantly improved OER *** example,the OER current density of NiCuCoⅡ-FeⅢCoⅢexhibits 1.81 times enhancement even after 72 h continuous OER catalysis,and the required overpotential for 10 mA cm-2reduces from 288 mV for the fresh precatalyst to a remarkable record of 251 mV after the pre-oxidation-induced activation,making the optimal PBA-based catalyst a promising candidate for efficient and durable water electrolysis.

Trace Element Compositions of Pyrite from the Shuangwang Gold Breccias,Western Qinling Orogen,China:Implications for Deep Ore Prediction

The Shuangwang gold deposit, located in the Fengxian-Taibai fore-arc basin in the western Qinling Orogen of Central China, has yielded over 70 tons of gold. It is an orogenic gold deposit occurring in an NW-trending breccia belt. Most of the ores are hydrothermal breccia type containing fragments of adjacent strata cemented by ankerite and pyrite. Pyrite is the most abundant metallic mineral and the major gold-bearing mineral in the ores. A total of 58 pyrite samples from main ore bodies of the Shuangwang gold deposit have been analysed for 44 trace elements by HR-ICP-MS. Sb, Ba, Cu, Pb, Zn, Bi, Mo, Co are selected as indicator elements to investigate the potential usefulness of trace elements in pyrite as an indicator in gold exploration. The results show that the supra-ore halo elements Sb and Ba, which may have been more active than other near-ore halo elements and sub-ore halo elements, are best to characterize the shape of ore bodies. Five target areas are pointed out for deep ore exploration based on a comprehensive study of supra-ore, near-ore and sub-ore halos. This study provides evidence that trace elements in pyrite can be used to depict the deep extension of ore bodies and to vector towards undiscovered ore bodies.

Regional heterogeneity of in-hospital mortality of COVID-19 in Brazil

The collective Unmanned Weapon System-of-Systems(UWSOS)network represents a fundamental element in modern warfare,characterized by a diverse array of unmanned combat platforms interconnected through hetero-geneous network *** its strategic importance,the UWSOS network is highly susceptible to hostile infiltrations,which significantly impede its battlefield recovery *** methods to enhance network resilience predominantly focus on basic graph relationships,neglecting the crucial higher-order dependencies among nodes necessary for capturing multi-hop meta-paths within the *** address these limitations,we propose the Enhanced-Resilience Multi-Layer Attention Graph Convolutional Network(E-MAGCN),designed to augment the adaptability of *** approach employs BERT for extracting semantic insights from nodes and edges,thereby refining feature representations by leveraging various node and edge ***,E-MAGCN integrates a regularization-based multi-layer attention mechanism and a semantic node fusion algo-rithm within the Graph Convolutional Network(GCN)*** extensive simulation experiments,our model demonstrates an enhancement in resilience performance ranging from 1.2% to 7% over existing algorithms.
