Suites of g.anitic and metamorphic rocks form a perfect g.olog.cal environment in which to investig.te the source of metals related to g.ld *** the East Province of Cameroon,the source of metals-related g.ld(g.ade~4.6 g.t)that occurs within metamorphic and g.anitic rocks remains *** host rocks were subjected to XRF and ICP-MS whole-rock g.ochemistry and BSE/EDS mineral analyses to investig.te the source(s)of metals related to g.ld in the ***,chalcopyrite-pyrite and mag.etite-ilmenite are the main sulfi des and oxides of g.anites,*** low-g.ade metamorphic rocks are sulfi de-rich consisting.of arsenopyrite,chalcopyrite,pyrite,and sphalerite,and oxides include mag.etite,ilmenite,hematite,and ***,ni,Co,Sb,Sc,and Zn concentrations depleted in hig.-g.ade metamorphic rocks and g.anites compared to low-g.ade metamorphic *** well,Bi,Cd,Co,Cu,ni,Sb,V,W,and Zn concentrations decrease with increasing.temperatures from low-g.ade rocks to hig.-g.ade rocks and *** suite of depleted elements in hig.-g.ade rocks and g.anites is almost identical to those enriched in g.ld *** conclude that metals(Bi,Cd,Co,Cu,ni,Sb,and Zn)related to g.ld mineralization in the East Province of Cameroon likely orig.nated from metal-rich low-g.ade metamorphic rocks during.prog.ade metamorphic processes prior to partial melting.

Backg.ound:We aimed to evaluate whether larg. prostate size,small lesion volume,or long.lesion distance from the ultrasound probe tip would decrease cancer detection in transrectal mag.etic resonance imag.ng.MRI)–targ.ted *** and methods:Patients who underwent MRI-targ.ted biopsy at our institution between May 2017 and Aug.st 2019 were enrolled in a prospective *** to 5 cores were obtained from≥2 prostate imag.ng.reporting.and data system v2 lesions.A multivariable model was created that included needle distance to the lesion,prostate specific antig.n,prostate imag.ng.reporting.and data system,lesion volume,and prostate ***:A total of 377 patients with 533 lesions underwent a biopsy during.the study period.A total of 233(44%)lesions were positive for prostate cancer,and 173(32%)lesions had clinically sig.ificant prostate *** mean needle distance to the lesion was 11.7mm(interquartile rang.,7.6–15.5mm).The likelihood of obtaining.a positive core on biopsy decreased as the distance fromthe ultrasound probe increased for all prostate cancers and clinically sig.ificant prostate cancer(p=0.018 and p=0.004,respectively).Every 10mmfrom the rectum,there was an 8%–10%decrease in the rate of cancer ***,as the prostate volume increased,the odds of obtaining.a positive core also decreased(p=0.039).There was no sig.ificant association between the lesion size and amount of cancer obtained on ***:Our data showed that transrectal MRI-targ.ted biopsy cancer detection modestly decreased the lesion from the ultrasound probe and with a larg. prostate volume but could not prove that lesion volume was a sig.ificant predictor of the amount of cancer detected.

Backg.ound: Knee osteoarthritis is a frequent, debilitating. and deg.nerative condition. It is the most common operative indication for surg.cal arthroscopy. Hypothesis: Arthroscopy allows painless treatment of knee osteoarthritis and functional recovery. Patients and Methods: Our study was conducted in a private medical center in the city of Brazzaville in Cong., during.the period from September 2020 to February 2023. It was prospective and based on patients with mechanical knee pain caused by osteoarthritis. A mobile arthroscopy device was used. The IKDC and KOOS scores allowed the evaluation of the treatment. Results: Our work involved 15 men and 7 women, with an averag. ag. of 39.9 years. Knee osteoarthritis was classified as type 2 according.to Ahlbäck in 26 cases (70.27%) and type 3 in 11 cases (29.73%). In 7 patients, arthroscopy revealed lesions not visualized on MRI. Joint lavag. was performed in all cases, synovial debridement in 17 cases (45.94%), and extraction of cartilag.nous foreig. bodies in 10 cases (27.03%). 20 patients were very satisfied with the surg.ry and 2 moderately satisfied. The EVA, subjective IKDC and KOOS scores were acceptable on a long.term follow-up. Discussion: Arthroscopy is a modern surg.cal technique for the manag.ment of intra-articular lesions of the knee. It relieves pain and stabilizes the deg.nerative process. A mobile arthroscopy device used here was preferred because of the low cost of installation and production.
