We quant.fied t.e cort.sol st.ess response of female Richardson's ground squirrels (RGSs) t. handling and physical rest.aint. t.st.ng for: (1) t.e effect. of individual age, t.me of day, and sample lat.ncy; (2) repeat.bilit. wit.in individuals; (3) narrow-sense herit.bilit.; and (4) differences among individuals owing t. pot.nt.al genet.c and/or environment.l effect.. We det.ct.d a posit.ve linear relat.onship bet.een baseline plasma cort.sol (BL-cort.sol) concent.at.on and st.ess-induced plasma cort.sol (SI-cort.sol) concent.at.on t.at.defined each individual's cort.sol st.ess response. BL-cort.sol, SI-cort.sol, and st.ess response did not.differ according t. t.e t.me t.e sample was t.ken, or by subject.age. Cort.sol st.ess response was highly repeat.ble wit.in individuals, had a mot.er-offspring herit.bilit. of = 0.40 ± 0.24 (mean ± SE), full-sibling herit.bilit. of , and half-sibling herit.bilit. of . St.ess responses of sibling groups, immediat.-family groups, and squirrels wit.in a given area did not.differ, whereas t.ose of individuals from more dist.nt.y relat.d mat.ilines did. Our result. highlight.t.e nat.ral variabilit. in HPA axis react.vit. among individuals by quant.fying bot. BL- and SI-cort.sol levels, demonst.at. part.al herit.bilit. of t.e st.ess response t.at.is not.at.ribut.ble t. environment.l variat.on, and suggest.t.at.at.least.part.of an individual's st.ess response can be account.d for by differences in mat.ilineal hist.ry.

Real-world fuel-based emission fact.rs （EFs） from Cat.rpillar 797B diesel heavy haulers when used for oil sands mining operat.ons were measured using an on-hoard port.ble emissions monit.ring syst.m. Average EFs （in g/kg fuel） for 16 separat. t.st. on four t.ucks were 3150 ± 4 for CO2, 2.51 ± 1.30 for CH4, 10.28 ± 3.21 for CO, 0.61 ± 0.32 for non-met.ane hydrocarbons, 55.49 ± 9,75 for NOx （report.d as NO2）, 0.70 ± 0.17 for PM2.s （mass of part.cles wit. aerodynamic diamet.r 〈2.5 μm）, and 0.34 ± 0.05 for black carbon （BC）. Ult.afine part.cle numbers averaged （4.7 ± 4.1 ） × 10^15 part.cleslkg fuel. Fuel-based EFs of NO, NO2, and part.cle numbers were higher during idling, whereas PM2.5 and BC EFs were higher during t.aveling wit.out.a load. A comparison of emissions wit. t.ose report.d by oil sands facilit.es showed large variat.ons, bot. among t.e facilit.es and bet.een t.e report.d emissions and t.e real-world measurement..

Capillary elect.ophoresis coupled t. mass spect.omet.y（CE–MS） was used for t.e analysis of napht.enic acid fract.on compounds（NAFCs） of oil sands process-affect.d wat.r（OSPW）. A st.ndard mixt.re of amine-derivat.zed napht.enic acids is inject.d direct.y ont. t.e CE column and analyzed by CE–MS in less t.an 15 min. t.me of flight.MS analysis（t.FMS）, opt.mized for high molecular weight.ions, showed NAFCs bet.een 250 and 800 m/z. Wit. a quadrupole mass analyzer, only low-molecular weight.NAFCs（bet.een 100 and 450 m/z） are visible under our experiment.l condit.ons. Background: t.is paper describes and displays t.e spinal radiological anat.my and associat.d pat.ology in a Macaca fascicularis and compares it.t. t.e spinal anat.my of humans. Animal models are commonly used in research. As compared t. Macaca mulat.a, t.e anat.my of M. fascicularis is less well described in t.e lit.rat.re. Mat.rials and met.ods: t.e aut.ors anat.mically reconst.uct.d and reviewed t.e defleshed spine of a single adult.M. fascicularis visually, radiographically, and wit. high resolut.on Ct. Result.: 7 cervical, 12 t.oracic, 6 lumbar, 3 sacral, and 16 caudal vert.brae were ident.fied. Similarit.es in t.e spine t. humans were seen as well as differences such as t.e beaked ant.rior arch of C1, t.e ant.rior point.d lower lumbar vert.brae, t.e upward curved t.ansverse processes, and presence of t.ree sacral segment.. Degenerat.ve changes were seen at.mult.ple locat.ons similar t. humans t.ough most.pronounced at.t.-4. Conclusions: t.is paper addresses t.e normal spinal anat.my and degenerat.ve changes in an adult.M. fascicularis and compares it.t. humans.

English speaking background(ESB)at.ending an Aust.alian memory clinic t.at.ext.nsively uses fluorodeoxyglucose posit.on emission t.mography(FDG PEt. in t.e diagnosis of cognit.ve concerns. NESB pat.ent. were less likely t. be diagnosed wit. Alzheimer’s disease(AD)as t.e sole neurodegenerat.ve diagnosis (Fisher exact.t.st. p = 0.08), and NESB pat.ent. wit. dement.a were more likely t. have non-AD dement.a (Fisher exact.t.st. p = 0.06). t.ey experienced sympt.ms 18 mont.s longer before receiving a formal diagnosis (t.46) = 2.2, p = 0.03). Older elderly NESB females were under represent.d in t.ose present.ng t. t.e clinic (Fisher exact.t.st. p = 0.04). t.e clinical work-up of NESB pat.ent. as opposed t. t.ose of ESB relied more heavily on FDG PEt.(Fisher exact.t.st. p = 0.04).
