Traumatic brain inju ry-induced unfavorable outcomes in human patients have independently been associated with dysreg.lated levels of monoamines,especially epinephrine,althoug. few preclinical studies have examined the epinephrine level in the central nervous system after traumatic brain *** has been shown to reg.late the activities of spinal motoneurons as well as increase the heart rate,blood pressure,and blood flow to the hindlimb ***,the purpose of the present study was to determine the impact of repeated blast-induced traumatic brain injury on the epinephrine levels in seve ral function-s pecific central nervous system reg.ons in *** three repeated blast injuries at 3-day intervals,the hippocampus,motor cortex,locus coeruleus,vestibular nuclei,and lumbar spinal cord were harvested at post-injury day eig.t and processed for epinephrine assays using.a hig.-sensitive electrochemical detector cou pled with hig.-performance liquid *** results showed that the epinephrine levels were sig.ificantly decreased in the lumbar spinal cord tissues of blast-induced traumatic brain injury animals compared to the levels detected in ag.-and sex-matched sham *** other function-specific central nervous system reg.ons,althoug. the epinephrine levels were slig.tly altered following.blast-induced tra u matic brain injury,they were not statistically *** results sug.est that blast injury-induced sig.ificant downreg.lation of epinephrine in the lumbar spinal cord could neg.tively impact the motor and cardiovascular *** is the first repo rt to show altered epinephrine levels in the spinal cord following.repetitive mild blast-induced traumatic brain injury.

Backg.ound:Our clinical practice of laparoscopic liver resection(LLR)had achieved better short-term and long.term benefits for patients with hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)over open liver resection(OLR),but the underlying.mechanisms are not *** study was to find out whether systemic inflammation plays an important ***:A total of 103 patients with early-stag. Borehole thermal energ. storag.(BTES)systems have g.rnered sig.ificant attention owing.to their efficacy in storing.thermal energ. for heating.and cooling.*** modeling.is paramount for ensuring.the precise desig. and operation of BTES *** study conducts a sensitivity analysis of BTES modeling.by employing.a comparative investig.tion of five distinct parameters on a wedg.-shaped model,with implications extendable to a cylindrical *** parameters examined included two desig. factors(well spacing.and g.out thermal conductivity),two operational variables(charg.ng.and discharg.ng.rates),and one g.olog.cal attribute(soil thermal conductivity).Finite element simulations were carried out for the sensitivity analysis to evaluate the round-trip efficiency,both on a per-cycle basis and cumulatively over three years of operation,serving.as performance *** results showed varying.deg.ees of sensitivity across different models to chang.s in these *** particular,the round-trip efficiency exhibited a g.eater sensitivity to chang.s in spacing.and volumetric flow ***,this study underscores the importance of considering.the impact of the soil and g.out-material thermal conductivities on the BTES-system performance over *** optimized scenario is modelled and compared with the base case,over a comparative assessment based on a 10-year *** analysis revealed that,at the end of the 10-year period,the optimized BTES model achieved a cycle efficiency of 83.4%.This sensitivity analysis provides valuable insig.ts into the merits and constraints of diverse BTES modeling.methodolog.es,aiding.in the selection of appropriate modeling.tools for BTES system desig. and operation.
