Culturable plant pathogenic fungi associated with sugarcane in southern China

Sugarcane(Saccharum officinarum)is one of the oldest crops cultivated by *** fungal taxa have been reported from this host,although most were not identified beyond genus *** this study,we explored 31 sampling sites in Guangxi and Guangdong Provinces(China),and collected 370 diseased samples from leaves and roots of sugarcane,from which 762 strains were *** preliminary analysis based on internal transcribed spacer(ITS)sequences suggested that these isolates belonged to 143 species in 51 genera,but we could not assign 129 ***,Chaetomium,Curvularia,Phoma and Nigrospora represented the top five most common genera identified,while 27 rare genera comprised only one identified *** this study,we chose above mentioned common genera for in-depth morphological observations and multi-locus analyses,in order to identify these strains to species *** this paper,we described one new genus,32 new species,and reported 19 new records for China and the asexual morph of Chaetomium ***,this is the most comprehensive study with molecular identification and illustration of fungi associated with sugarcane,which greatly improves our understanding of culturable mycota associated with this host.

Phyllosticta species associated with diseases of four commercial Citrus species grown in China are ***,496 Phyllosticta strains were isolated from mandarins(Citrus reticulata),pomeloes(***),oranges(***)and lemons(***)in the main citrus producing regions across China,and 74 strains were selected for phylogenetic *** inferred from the sequences of internal transcribed spacer region(ITS1,5.8S nrdNA and ITS2),partial translation elongation factor 1-alpha(TEF1)and partial actin gene(ACT),showed these representative Phyllosticta isolates clustered in four distinct clades corresponding to three known,and one undescribed *** newly resolved taxon,Phyllosticta citrichinaensis was isolated from leaves and fruits of all four Citrus species and is introduced in this *** taxon caused minor damage,showing irregular spots or *** citriasiana,associated with tan spot of pomeloes,was isolated only from pomeloes,and never from lemons,mandarins and *** citricarpa,the citrus black spot pathogen,which is presently subjected to phytosanitary legislation in the EU and United States,was isolated from lemons,mandarins and oranges,but never from *** isolates of *** clustered in two subclades,one from mandarins,the other from oranges and *** was isolated from all four Citrus species as an endophyte,causing false melanose,or together with *** or ***,cultural and biochemical characters were consistent with the results of phylogenetic *** addition,a specific primer pair Pca8/ITS4 was designed and selected,and its corresponding PCR procedure was developed for the detection of *** in this study.

Self-assembled bright luminescent hierarchical materials from a tripodal benzoate antenna and heptadentate Eu(III) and Tb(III) cyclen complexes

The europium heptadentate coordinatively unsaturated (Eu(III)) and the terbium (Tb(III)) 1,4,7,10-tetraazacyclododecane (cyclen) complexes 1 and 2 were used in conjunction with ligand 3 (1,3,5-benzene-trisethynylbenzoate) to form the supramolecular self-assembly structures 4 and 5;this being investigated in both the solid and the solution state. The resulting self-assemblies gave rise to metal centered emission (both in the solid and solution) upon excitation of 3, confirming its role as a sensitizing antenna. drop-cased examples of ligand 3, and the solid forms of 4 and 5, formed from both organic and mixture of organic-aqueous solutions, were analyzed using Scanning Electron Microscopy, which showed significant changes in morphology;the ligand giving rise to one dimensional structures, while both 4 and 5 formed amorphous materials that were highly dense solid networks containing nanoporous features. The surface area (216 and 119 m2·g^-1 for 4 and 5 respectively) and the ability of these porous materials to capture and store gases such as N2 investigated at 77 K. The self-assembly formation was also investigated in diluted solution by monitoring the various photophysical properties of 3–5. This demonstrated that the most stable structures were that consisting of a single antennae 3 and three complexes of 1 or 2 (e.g., 4 and 5) in solution. By monitoring the excited state lifetimes of the Eu(III) and Tb(III) ions in H2O and d2O respectively, we showed that their hydration states (the q-value) changed from -2 to 0, upon formation of the assemblies, indicating that the three benzoates of 3 coordinated directly to the each of the three lanthanide centers. Finally we demonstrate that this hierarchically porous materials can be used for the sensing of organic solvents as the emission is highly depended on the solvent environment;the lanthanide emission being quenched in the presence of acetonitrile and THF, but greatly enhanced in the presence of methanol.

China＇s macroeconomy is surrounded by increased uncertainties while facing persistent downward pressures entering year 2017. Major external challenges are imposed by the chaotic political climate and disorderly retreat from globalization of the US accompanied with the impending FEd rate hikes, which may trigger a destructive trade war and exert pressures on RMB depreciation and capital flight. Remaining ingrained in major internal challenges are the gridlock risks accumulated from excessive financialization of real estate sector and swelling housing market bubbles amid escalating debt levels, and more fundamentally, the continued off-real-to-virtual movement in the general economy and ascendancy of government over market in resource *** on IAR-CMM model, which takes into account both cyclical and secular factors, the baseline real GdP growth rate is projected to be 6.5% in 2017 （6.13% using more reliable instead of official data）. Counterfactual analyses and policy simulations are also conducted to highlight the convoluted uncertainties surrounding China＇s macroeconomy. Through the lens of these analyses, we identify a root cause of the weak outlook as the persistently distorted economic structure due to procrastination in reforms of the institutions and governance, which not only impairs China＇s growth potential but also limits the power of its recent stimulating policies while exacerbating their side effects. Key to successful economic restructuring in the face of adversely evolving demographics are market-oriented reforms, with well-designed strategies to balance short-term stabilization and long-run development. Such reforms should hold center stage in China＇s transition towards a modern free market economy and regulatory state.

Leaving year 2017 China＇s macroeconomy is continuously characterized by unbalanced and inadequate development. Whereas some aggregate indicators have shown improvement over the year, the cumulative growth rates in consumption and fixed asset investment have continued theirdownward trajectories. Worsening income inequality and resource misallocations, both between secondary and tertiary industries, and within the latter, pose serious challenges, let alone the systemic risk associated with the flourishing shadow banking system, rapid credit growth and debt overhang that weigh on the Chinese economy like the Sword of damocles. This summary report highlights both the status quo and the consequences of the unbalanced and inadequate development embodied in China＇s persistently distorted economic structure, and the role of deepening reforms of the institutions and governance in resolving the problems. Our analyses based on IAR-CMM model provide a unified framework for addressing China＇s short-, medium-, and long-term issues ir~ an internally coherent manner. Looking into year 2018, our benchmark projection of real GdP growth rate is 6.7% （6.41% using more reliable rather than the official data）. Alternative scenario analyses and policy simulations are conducted to reflect various aspects of the economic challenges in the short to long runs. Through the lens of these analyses we conclude that rule-of-law based and market-oriented structural reforms should continue to hold a center stage in China＇s transition from a phase of high-speed but unbalanced growth, to a stage of balanced and adequate high-quality development.
