The deep c.ment mixing(Dc.)is used to improve the c.pac.ty and reduc. the settlement of the soft ground by forming c.mented c.ay *** investigation on the mec.anic.l behaviour of the Dc. samples is limited to either laboratory-prepared samples or in-situ samples under unc.nfined *** this study,a series of drained and undrained triaxial shearing tests was performed on the in-situ c.red Dc. samples with high c.ment c.ntent to assess their mec.anic.l *** is found that the drainage c.ndition affec.s signific.ntly the stiffness,peak and residual strengths of the Dc. samples,whic. is mainly due to the state of exc.ss pore water pressure at different strain levels,*** positive before the peak deviatoric.stress and negative after the peak deviatoric.stress,in the undrained *** slope of the failure envelope c.anges obviously with the c.nfining pressures,being steeper at lower stress levels and flatter at higher stress *** strength parameters,effec.ive c.hesion and fric.ion angle obtained from lower stress levels(c.0 andφ′0)are 400 kPa and 58°,respec.ively,whic. are deemed to be true for design in most Dc. applic.tions where the in-situ stress levels are normally at lower values of 50-200 ***,the c.mputed tomography(c.)sc.nning system was adopted to visualize the internal struc.ures of Dc. *** is found that the c.ay poc.ets existing inside the Dc. samples due to uneven mixing affec. markedly their stress-strain behaviour,whic. is one of the main reasons for the high variability of the Dc. samples.

The deformation mec.anisms and dynamic.rec.ystallization(DRX)behavior of spec.fic.lly grown bic.ystals with a symmetric.90°and 90°tilt grain boundary,respec.ively,were investigated under deformation in plane strain c.mpression at 200℃and 400℃.The mic.ostruc.ures were analyzed by panoramic.optic.l mic.osc.py and large-area elec.ron bac.sc.tter diffrac.ion(EBSD)orientation *** analysis employed a metic.lous approac. utilizing hundreds of individual,small EBSD maps with a small step size that were stitc.ed together to provide c.mprehensive ac.ess to orientation and misorientation data on a mac.osc.pic.*** slip primarily governed the early stages of deformation at the two temperatures,and the resulting shear induc.d lattic. rotation around the transverse direc.ion(TD)of the *** existenc. of the grain boundary gave rise to disloc.tion pile-up in its vic.nity,leading to muc. larger TD-lattic. rotations within the boundary region c.mpared to the *** inc.easing temperature,the deformation was generally more uniform towards the bulk due to enhanc.d disloc.tion mobility and more uniform stress *** rec.ystallization at 200℃was initiated in{1011}-c.mpression twins at strains of 40%and *** 400℃,DRX c.nsumed the entire grain boundary region and gradually replac.d the deformed mic.ostruc.ure with progressing *** rec.ystallized grains displayed c.arac.eristic.orientations,suc. that their c.axes were perpendic.lar to the TD and additionally sc.ttered between 0°and 60°from the loading *** rec.ystallized grains displayed mutual rotations of up to 30°around the c.axes of the initial grains,forming a disc.rnible basal fiber texture c.mponent,prominently visible in the{1120}pole *** is noteworthy that the deformation and DRX behaviors of the two analyzed bic.ystals exhibited marginal variations in response to strain and deformation temperature.
