＜正＞Increases in ambient aerosol concentrations are associated with adverse health effects such as respiratory irritation and changes in pulmonary function. To test hypotheses regarding effects of atmospheric aerosols, it is essential to measure the atmospheric aerosol properties accurately and efficiently. since atmospheric aerosols are contributed by multiple sources of aerosol with a wide range of particle diameters, it is important to measure atmospheric aerosols from a few nanometers to several microns in particle diameter. The Wide-Range Particle spectrometer （WPsTM） is a recently introduced commercial aerosol instrument with the unique capability to measure size distributions of aerosols over a diameter range of 0.01 to 10 μm （Liu et al. 2005）. A scanning Mobility spectrometer （sMs） comprised of a Differential Mobility Analyzer （DMA） and a Condensation Particle Counter （CPC） is used to measure particles from 0.01 to 0.5 μm and a Laser Particle spectrometer （LPs） is used to measure particles from 0.35 to 10 μm. These components are small enough to fit within a single portable cabinet （-25 kg） with all accompanying control hardware and electronics. No external pumps are required and power consumption is only 150 W. The WPs was tested in the field for semi-continuous atmospheric sampling during extended periods of time as a way to measure the time-evolution of the atmospheric aerosol size distribution in an urban setting. Results from these measurements show that the WPs works well in various ambient conditions with temperature ranging from 11 ℃ to 35 ℃ and relative humidity ranging from 10% to 70%. Detailed diurnal profiles and nucleation events of atmospheric aerosol size distributions were observed using the WPs in these measurements. With its relatively small size, light weight, low power consumption, and user friendliness, the WPs can perform unprecedented aerosol size distribution measurements in a wide particle diameter range （10 nm - 10,000 nm）. Porous flower-like snO_(2)/CdsnO_(3) microstructures self-assembled by uniform nanosheets were synthesized using a hydrothermal process followed by calcination,and the sensing performance was measured when a gas sensor,based on such microstructures,was exposed to various volatile organic compound(VOC)*** response value was found to reach as high as 100.1 when the snO_(2)/CdsnO_(3) sensor was used to detect 100 ppm formaldehyde gas,much larger than those of other tested VOC gases,indicating the high gas sensitivity possessed by this sensor especially in the detection of formaldehyde ***,the response/recovery process was fast with the response time and recovery time of only 13 and 21 s,*** excellent gas sensing performance derive from the advantages of snO_(2)/CdsnO_(3),such as abundant n-n heterojunctions built at the interface,high available specific surface area,abundant porosity,large pore size,and rich reactive oxygen species,as well as joint effects arising from snO_(2) and CdsnO_(3),suggesting that such porous flower-like snO_(2)/CdsnO_(3) microstructures composed of nanosheets have a high potential for developing gas sensors.

MoP nanoparticles encapsulated in N-doped carbon nanotubes as sulfur host for advanced lithium-sulfur batteries

Robotic-assisted retroperitoneal lymph node dissection for stage II testicular cancer

Investigation of the nutritional and functional roles of a combinational use of xylanase and β-glucanase on intestinal health and growth of nursery pigs

Background Xylanase and β-glucanase combination(XG) hydrolyzes soluble non-starch polysaccharides that are anti-nutritional compounds. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of increasing levels of XG on intestinal health and growth performance of nursery *** Forty pigs(6.5 ± 0.4 kg) were assigned to 5 dietary treatments and fed for 35 d in 3 phases(11, 9, and 15 d, respectively). Basal diets mainly included corn, soybean meal, and corn distiller's dried grains with solubles, contained phytase(750 FTU/kg), and were supplemented with 5 levels of XG at(1) 0,(2) 280 TXU/kg xylanase and 125 TGU/kg β-glucanase,(3) 560 and 250,(4) 840 and 375, or(5) 1,120 and 500, respectively. Growth performance was measured. On d 35, all pigs were euthanized and jejunal mucosa, jejunal digesta, jejunal tissues, and ileal digesta were collected to determine the effects of increasing XG levels and XG intake on intestinal *** Increasing XG intake tended to quadratically decrease(P = 0.059) viscosity of jejunal digesta(min: 1.74 m Pa·s at 751/335(TXU/TGU)/kg).
