The multi-step phosphorelay （MSP） system defines a key signal transduction pathway in plants and many eukaryotes. In this system, external stimuli first lead to the activation of a histidine kinase, followed by transfer of a phosphoryl group from the receiver domain of the kinase （HKRD） to downstream, cytosolic phosphotransfer proteins （HPs）. In order to establish the determinants of specificity for this signaling relay system, we have solved the first crystal structure of a plant HKRD, AHK5RD, in complex with one of its cognate HPs, AHP1. AHP1 binds AHK5RD via a prominent hydrogen bond docking ridge and a hydrophobic patch. These features are conserved among all AHP proteins, but differ significantly from other structurally characterized prokaryotic and eukaryotic HPs. Surface plasmon resonance experiments show that AHK5RD binds to AHP1-3 with similar, micromolar affinity, consistent with the transient nature of this signaling complex. Our correlation of structural and functional data provide the first insight, at the atomic level as well as with quantitative affinity data, into the molecular recognition events governing the MSP in plants.

This paper proposes a data-driven hybrid model for forecasting the battery power voltage of transportation robots by combining a wavelet method and a bidirectional deep-learning *** the proposed model,the on-board battery power data is measured and transmitted.A WPD(wavelet packet decomposition)algorithm is employed to decompose the original collected non-stationary series into several relatively more stable *** each subseries,a deep learning–based predictor–bidirectional long short-term memory(BiLSTM)–is constructed to forecast the battery power voltage from one step to three steps *** experiments verify the effectiveness and generalization ability of the proposed hybrid forecasting model,which shows the highest forecasting *** obtained forecasting results can be used to decide whether the robot can complete the given task or needs to be recharged,providing effective support for the safe use of transportation robots.

Comparative Study of Biogas Production from Jackfruit Waste, Banana Peels, and Pineapple Peels Co-Digested with Cow Dung

Only 42% of Uganda’s population has access to electricity. The population continues to use firewood and charcoal as a source of energy, which leads to depletion of forests thus to climate change. The purpose of this study was to assess the potential of biogas production from jackfruit waste, banana peels, and pineapple peels when co-digested with cow dung as an alternative energy source. Substrates for each waste were co-digested with varying proportions (0%, 25%, and 50%) of cow dung using laboratory-scale 250 mL anaerobic digestors. The total biogas generation for jackfruit waste, banana peels, and pineapple peels after 30 days of anaerobic digestion was 82.3, 189, and 262 mL, respectively. When jack fruit waste, pineapple peels and banana peels were co-digested with 25% cow dung, the total amount of biogas produced increased by a factor of two and three, respectively. However, 50% of cow dung only significantly (p ≤ 0.05) improved for jack fruit waste by two folds. Therefore, the results indicated that jackfruit waste, banana and pineapple peels can be used for biogas production to augment energy supply. .

EUS is the most sensitive imaging procedure for the detection of small solid pancreatic masses and is accurate in determining vascular invasion of the portal venous system. Even compared to the new CT-techniques EUS provides excellent results in preoperative staging of solid pancreatic tumors. Compared to helical CT-techniques EUS is less accurate in detecting tumor involvement of superior mesenteric artery. EUS staging and EUS-guided FNA can be performed in a single-step procedure, to establish the diagnosis of cancer. There is no known negative impact of tumor cell seeding due to EUS-FNA. Without FNA EUS and additional methods are not able to reliably distinguish between inflammatory and malignant masses.

Humus forms, especially the occurrence and the thickness of the horizon of humified residues(OH), provide valuable information on site *** mountain forest soils, humus forms show a high spatial variability and data on their spatial patterns is often scarce. Our aim was to test the applicability of various vegetation features as proxy for OH *** coniferous forests dominated by Picea abies(L.) H. Karst. and Larix decidua Mill. were studied in the Province of Trento, Italian Alps,between ca. 900 and 2200 m a.s.l. Braun-Blanquet vegetation relevés and OH thickness were recorded at152 plots. The vegetation parameters, tested for their suitability as indicators of OH thickness,encompassed mean Landolt indicator values of the herb layer(both unweighted and cover-weighted means) as well as parameters of vegetation structure(cover values of plant species groups) calculated from the relevés. To our knowledge, the predictive power of Landolt indicator values(LIVs) for humus forms had not been tested before. Correlations between OH thickness and mean LIVs were strongest for the soil reaction value, but indicator values for humus,nutrients, temperature and light were also significantly correlated with OH thickness. Generally,weighting with species cover reduced the indicator quality of mean LIVs for OH thickness. The strongest relationships between OH thickness and vegetation structure existed in the following indicators: the cover of forbs(excluding graminoids and ferns) and the cover of Ericaceae in the herb layer. Regression models predicting OH thickness based on vegetation structure had almost as much predictive power as models based on LIVs. We conclude that LIVs analysis can produce fairly reliable information regarding the thickness of the OH horizon and, thus,the humus form. If no relevé data are readily available,a field estimation of the cover values of certain easily distinguishable herb layer species groups is much faster than a vegetation

目的本研究旨在了解患者对护士关怀行为的感知及关联因素。方法在埃塞俄比亚3所转诊医院进行横断面研究。连续抽取652例患者(应答率98.8%),应用阿姆哈拉语版关怀行为量表-16(Caring Behav-iors Inventory-16,CBI-16)和患者满意度量表(Patient Satisfaction Instrument,PSI)进行调查。其中,CBI-16包含4个分量表:支持保证、知识技能、尊重和联系。使用多元线性回归分析确定与患者感知关怀行为相关联的社会人口学因素和临床相关因素。结果患者对护士关怀行为的感知程度较高,总平均分为4.86(SD=0.72)分,其中支持保证分量表得分最高。多元回归分析显示,部分社会人口统计学变量和临床相关因素与患者对关怀行为的感知(总平均分)存在关联。40~49岁(B=-0.19,P=0.012)和单身(B=-0.13,P=0.03)的患者CBI-16得分较低。受教育程度较高(B=0.35,P=0.001)、外科患者(B=0.11,P=0.027)、在过去8 h与护士相处时间较多(B=0.16,P<0.001)的患者对关怀行为的感知程度更高。CBI-16得分与PSI得分呈正相关(r=0.62,P<0.001)。结论埃塞俄比亚住院患者对护士关怀行为的总体感知程度较高,尤其是身体护理方面,但对情感关怀的感知程度较低。本研究认为,年龄40~49岁的单身患者更需要被关怀。患者与护士相处的时间对于患者感知护士关怀行为有重要影响。
