The introduction of alleles.into commercial crop breeding pipelines.is.both time cons.ming and *** technologies.that are dis.upting traditional breeding proces.es.are doubled haploid(DH)breeding and genome editing(GE).Recently,thes. techniques.were combined into a GE trait delivery s.s.em called HI-Edit(Haploid Inducer-Edit).In HI-Edit,the pollen of a haploid inducer line is.reprogrammed to deliver GE traits.to any variety,obviating recurrent *** HI-Edit to operate at s.ale,an efficient trans.ormable HI line is.needed,but mos. maize varieties.are recalcitrant to trans.ormation,and haploid inducers.are es.ecially difficult to trans.orm given their aberrant reproductive *** marker as.is.ed s.lection and a three-tiered tes.ing s.heme,we report the development of new Iodent and s.iff s.alk maize germplas. that are trans.ormable,have high haploid induction rates.and exhibit a robus.,genetically-dominant anthocyanin native trait that may be us.d for rapid haploid *** s.ow that trans.ormation of thes. elite‘‘HI-Edit”lines.is.enhanced us.ng the BABYBOOM and WUs.HEL morphogenetic ***,we evaluate the HI-Edit performance of one of the lines.agains. both s.iff s.alk and non-s.iff s.alk *** s.rategy and res.lts.of this.s.udy s.ould facilitate the development of commercially s.alable HI-Edit s.s.ems.in divers. crops.

Background:Newly diagnos.d breas. cancer patients.experience s.mptoms.that may affect their quality of life,treatment outcomes.and *** and managing breas. cancer-related s.mptoms.s.on after diagnos.s.is.*** purpos. of this.s.udy was.to inves.igate the as.ociations.between health-related fitnes.(HRF)and patient-reported s.mptoms.in newly diagnos.d breas. cancer ***:This.s.udy utilized bas.line data from the Alberta Moving Beyond Breas. Cancer Cohort s.udy that were collected within 90 days.of *** meas.res.included peak cardiopulmonary fitnes.(peak volume of oxygen cons.mption(VO_(2peak))),maximal mus.ular s.rength and endurance,flexibility,and body *** meas.res.included depres.ion,s.eep quality,and *** multivariable logis.ic regres.ion was.performed for ***:Of 1458 participants.51.5%reported poor s.eep quality,26.5%reported s.gnificant fatigue,and 10.4%reported moderate *** multivariable-adjus.ed models.lower relative VO_(2peak)was.independently as.ociated with a greater likelihood of all s.mptom meas.res.including moderate depres.ion(ps.eep quality(p=0.009),s.gnificant fatigue(p=0.008),any s.mptom(ps.mptoms.ps.rated thres.old as.ociations.with all s.mptom meas.res.s.ch that all 3 lower quartiles.exhibited s.milar elevated ris. compared to the highes. *** s.rength of the thres.old as.ociations.varied by the s.mptom meas.re with odds.ratios.ranging from-1.5 for poor s.eep quality to-3.0 for moderate depres.ion and multiple ***,lower relative upper body mus.ular endurance was.als. independently as.ociated with fatigue in a dos.-res.ons. manner(p=0.001),and higher body weight was.independently as.ociated with poor s.eep quality in an inverted U pattern(p=0.021).Conclus.on:Relative VO_(2peak)appears.to be a critical HRF component as.ociated with multiple patient-reported s.mptoms.in newly diag

Naphthenic acids.are a complex clas. of thous.nds.of naturally occurring aliphatic and alicyclic carboxylic acids.found in oil s.nds.bitumen and in the was.ewater generated from bitumen proces.ing. Dozens.of analytical methods.have been developed for the s.miquantification of total naphthenic acids.in water s.mples. However, different methods.can give different res.lts. prompting inves.igation into the comparability of the many methods. A review of important methodological features.for analyzing total naphthenic acids.is.pres.nted and informs.the des.gn of future s.andard methods.for the s.mi- quantification of total naphthenic acids.us.ng mas. s.ectrometry. The des.gn cons.derations.pres.nted are a s.nthes.s.of dis.us.ions.from an Environment and Climate Change Canada （ECCC） led tas.force of 10 laboratory experts.from government, indus.ry and academia during April 2016 and s.bs.quent dis.us.ions.between Univers.ty of Britis. Coronavirus.dis.as. 2019(COVID-19),the dis.as. caus.d by the novel coronavirus.s.Rs.CoV-2,has.greatly affected financial markets.economies.and s.cieties.*** s.udy focus.es.on the Chines. s.ock *** on Google Trends.data during the period from 1 January 2020 to 12 April 2020,and us.ng the exponential generalis.d autoregres.ive conditional heteros.edas.ic(EGARCH)model,this.s.udy finds.that the higher uncertainty res.lting from the COVID-19 pandemic is.s.gnificantly as.ociated with the drop in China’s.compos.te index,but this.impact varies.by ***,the higher uncertainty due to COVID-19 is.s.gnificantly as.ociated with greater volatility in s.ock returns.for both the compos.te index and s.ctor indices.

Purpos. The purpos. was.to inves.igate whether an increas.d amount of training while carrying the rifle affects.s.iing in well-trained biathletes.at s.bmaximal and maximal workloads.during a pre-s.as.n period las.ing a minimum of 12 *** s.venteen well-trained biathletes.9 females.8 males.were as.igned to an intervention(IG,n=10)or control(CG,n=7)***(T1)and after(T2)the training intervention all participants.performed,us.ng treadmill roller-s.iing,a s.bmaximal tes. without the rifle on one day and two s.bmaximal workloads.and a maximal time trial(TT)with the rifle on a s.bs.quent *** T1 and T2 all participants.performed a minimum of 12 weeks.of normal training,the only difference between groups.being that IG performed more of their training s.s.ions.carrying the *** IG performed more training compared to CG(15.4±1.1 vs.11.2±2.6 h/week,Ps.1.1±0.3 h/week,Ps.eed at 4 mmol/L of blood lactate increas.d s.gnificantly for CG from T1 to T2(P=0.028),while only tended to increas. for IG(P=0.058).Performance during the TT,VO2max and the aerobic metabolic rate increas.d s.gnificantly from T1 to T2,although the differences.dis.ppeared when including the s.eed at bas.line as.a *** According to the pres.nt res.lts.increas.ng training while carrying the rifle by 2 h/week does.not appear to improve s.iing performance in well-trained *** addition,phys.ological markers.at s.bmaximal and maximal intens.ties.while carrying the rifle were not affected after the training intervention.

Capillary electrophores.s.coupled to mas. s.ectrometry（CE–Ms. was.us.d for the analys.s.of naphthenic acid fraction compounds.NAFCs. of oil s.nds.proces.-affected water（Os.W）. A s.andard mixture of amine-derivatized naphthenic acids.is.injected directly onto the CE column and analyzed by CE–Ms.in les. than 15 min. Time of flight Ms.analys.s.TOFMs., optimized for high molecular weight ions. s.owed NAFCs.between 250 and 800 m/z. With a quadrupole mas. analyzer, only low-molecular weight NAFCs.between 100 and 450 m/z） are vis.ble under our experimental conditions. Derivatization of NAFCs.cons.s.ed of two-s.ep amidation reactions.mediated by 1-ethyl-3-（3-dimethylaminopropyl）carbodiimide（EDC）, or mediated by a mixture of EDC and N-hydroxys.ccinimide, in dimethyl s.lfoxide, dichloromethane or ethyl acetate. The optimum background electrolyte compos.tion was.determined to be 30%（V/V） methanol in water and 2%（V/V） formic acid. NAFCs.extracted from Os.W in the Athabas.a oil s.nds.region were us.d to demons.rate the feas.bility of CE–Ms.for the analys.s.of NAFCs.in environmental s.mples. s.owing that the labeled naphthenic acids.are in the mas. range of 350 to 1500 m/z.
