BACKGROUND Cheilectomy of the 1^(st)metatarsophalangeal joint(MTPj)is one of the most common procedures for the management of hallux ***,there is no consensus regarding outcomes following minimally invasive dorsal cheilectomy(MIDC)for the management of hallux *** To evaluate outcomes following MIDC for the management of hallux *** During November 2023,the PubMed,EMBASE and Cochrane Library databases were systematically reviewed to identify clinical studies examining outcomes following MIDC for the management of hallux *** Six studies were *** total,348 patients(370 feet)underwent MIDC for hallux rigidus at a weighted mean follow-up of 37.9±16.5 *** distribution of patients by Coughlin and Shurna's classification was recorded in 4 studies as follows:Ⅰ(58 patients,27.1%),Ⅱ(112 patients,52.3%),Ⅲ(44 patients,20.6%).Three studies performed an additional 1^(st)MTPj arthroscopy and debridement following *** intra-articular bone debris was observed in 100%of patients in 1 *** weighted mean American orthopedic foot and ankle society score improved from a preoperative score of 68.9±3.2 to a postoperative score of *** complication rate was 8.4%,the most common of which was persistent joint pain and ***-two failures(8.7%)were ***-three secondary procedures(8.9%)were performed at a weighted mean time of 8.6±3.2 months following the index *** This systematic review demonstrated improvements in subjective clinical outcomes together with a moderate complication rate following MIDC for the management of hallux rigidus at short-term follow-up.A moderate reoperation rate at short-term follow-up was *** marked heterogeneity between included studies and paucity of high quality comparative studies limits the generation of any robust conclusions.

Background:Newly diagnosed breast cancer patients experience symptoms that may affect their quality of life,treatment outcomes,and *** and managing breast cancer-related symptoms soon after diagnosis is *** purpose of this study was to investigate the associations between health-related fitness(HRF)and patient-reported symptoms in newly diagnosed breast cancer ***:This study utilized baseline data from the Alberta Moving Beyond Breast Cancer Cohort Study that were collected within 90 days of *** measures included peak cardiopulmonary fitness(peak volume of oxygen consumption(VO_(2peak))),maximal muscular strength and endurance,flexibility,and body *** measures included depression,sleep quality,and *** multivariable logistic regression was performed for ***:Of 1458 participants,51.5%reported poor sleep quality,26.5%reported significant fatigue,and 10.4%reported moderate *** multivariable-adjusted models,lower relative VO_(2peak)was independently associated with a greater likelihood of all symptom measures,including moderate depression(p<0.001),poor sleep quality(p=0.009),significant fatigue(p=0.008),any symptom(p<0.001),and multiple symptoms(p<0.001).VO_(2peak)demonstrated threshold associations with all symptom measures such that all 3 lower quartiles exhibited similar elevated risk compared to the highest *** strength of the threshold associations varied by the symptom measure with odds ratios ranging from-1.5 for poor sleep quality to-3.0 for moderate depression and multiple ***,lower relative upper body muscular endurance was also independently associated with fatigue in a dose-response manner(p=0.001),and higher body weight was independently associated with poor sleep quality in an inverted U pattern(p=0.021).Conclusion:Relative VO_(2peak)appears to be a critical HRF component associated with multiple patient-reported symptoms in newly diag

Background:Reproducing populations of invasive carps(Hypophthalmichthys spp.)could alter aquatic food webs and negatively afect native fshes in the Mississippi National River and Recreation Area(MISS)and the *** National Scenic Riverway(SACN).However,proposed invasive carp barriers may also threaten populations of native migratory fshes by preventing movements of fsh between rivers that are necessary for life history *** this study,nonlethal chemical techniques were used to provide baseline data related to the condition,trophic position,and migratory histories of lake sturgeon(Acipenser fulvescens)captured in the Mississippi and *** ***:Fish length and weight measurements and age estimates determined from pectoral fn rays demonstrated that lake sturgeon from the Mississippi River had greater lengths-at-age compared to sturgeon from the *** ***,length–weight relations were similar for sturgeon from the Mississippi and *** *** sturgeon captured from diferent locations had distinguishable fatty acid signatures,and stable isotope analyses demonstrated that lake sturgeon from the Mississippi River generally feed at a higher trophic level than those in the *** ***-to-calcium ratios(Sr:Ca)from fn ray cross sections indicated that sturgeon captured from the Mississippi River had higher Sr:Ca values than sturgeon captured from the *** River,and natal origins and capture locations were not signifcantly diferent among sturgeon captured within individual *** sturgeon were captured in water with a similar Sr:Ca signature as their natal waters,indicating that there is some separation between populations of lake sturgeon in the *** and Mississippi ***,Sr:Ca data indicated substantial variation in movement patterns among individual lake sturgeon,indicating that populations interact through migrations of individual fsh between ***:Study results provide baseline c

近年来,凭借其重要的研究意义,采用数据聚类去分析社会网络已成为时下最热门的话题之一。这些研究最直接应用的是防止恐怖袭击和社区通过检测疾病的传播。此外,由于社会网络是动态的,而社会关系的变化是可以通过数据聚类方法预测的。从而使得清楚了解社会网络结构将有助于促进社会发展和社会成员间的合作。从数据挖掘角度来看,社交网络是一种不完全的,庞大的,复杂的,动态的网络。而这些特性使得传统的数据聚类方法并不能成功应用在社会网络中。相反,作为一个最流行的现代数据的聚类算法,谱聚类在对社交网络的问题提供了一种系统的,灵活实用的解决方案。理论和实验证明,谱聚类在寻找全局最优解和处理大型数据集方面的性能优于传统聚类算法。一方面审视讨论当今谱聚类的理论和算法,及其优于传统聚类算法的特点。另一方面,也涵盖了社会网络的基本知识及两个典型的谱聚类在社会网络中的应用。

现已计算了增强电荷耦合器件（ICCC）中与氧化硅层吸收X射线总剂量有关的电压和电子流量,该器件是以背面电子照射形式工作。计算是依据光谱强度分布和实际器件Si-SiO2界面的纯剂量测量进行的。它表明:微量的入射电子能被转换成产生并透过约10μm硅片的X射线,在1万电子伏时约1×10-4,在2万电子伏时约3×10-4。在发射的X射线总能量中,差不多1.5％被100nm的SiO2所吸收。在1.732千电子伏时,X射线能的85—97％是在特性曲线Kα线中。从10μmSi片背面入射,淀积在SiO2内每一个电子的剂量是D=9.7×10-14E（keV）2·2rad（SiO2）/e-cm-2,从13μm硅片背面入射,淀积在SiO2里的每一个电子的剂量D=3.5×10-14E（keV）2·44rad（SiO2）/e-cm-2。在阴天星光亮度条件下(～10-4lux),以10,15,20kV电压工作的标准ICCD的氧化物里,剂量淀积的速率分别是2.3,6.3,12.7rad（SiO2）/小时。对应这些剂量的比率,特别是在工作电压降低的条件下工作时,希望兆拉德淬火的电荷耦合器件在微光ICCD电视摄象管里有长达10万小时的有效工作寿命。

The Soft X-ray Imager(SXI)is part of the scientific payload of the Solar wind Magnetosphere Ionosphere Link Explorer(SMILE)*** is a joint science mission between the European Space Agency(ESA)and the Chinese Academy of Sciences(CAS)and is due for launch in *** is a compact X-ray telescope with a wide field-of-view(FOV)capable of encompassing large portions of Earth’s magnetosphere from the vantage point of the SMILE *** is sensitive to the soft X-rays produced by the Solar Wind Charge eXchange(SWCX)process produced when heavy ions of solar wind origin interact with neutral particles in Earth’s *** provides a mechanism for boundary detection within the magnetosphere,such as the position of Earth’s magnetopause,because the solar wind heavy ions have a very low density in regions of closed magnetic field *** sensitivity of the SXI is such that it can potentially track movements of the magnetopause on timescales of a few minutes and the orbit of SMILE will enable such movements to be tracked for segments lasting many *** is led by the University of Leicester in the United Kingdom(UK)with collaborating organisations on hardware,software and science support within the UK,Europe,China and the United States.

Following the recommendation of the International Commission on Stratigraphy (16 votes Yes [94%], 1 abstention, 2 votes not received), the Global boundary Stratotype Section and Point (GSSP) for the base of the Turonian Stage of the Cretaceous System is defined as the base of bed 86 of the Bridge Creek Limestone Member of the Greenhorn Limestone Formation at the western end of the Denver and Rio Grande Railroad cut near the north boundary of the Pueblo Reservoir State Park Recreation Area, west of Pueblo, Colorado, USA. This GSSP horizon is also exposed and protected in the adjacent state recreation area. It coincides with the first occurrence of the ammonite Watinoceras devonense, is in the middle of a global positive excursion in Carbon-13 isotopes, and is bracketed by widespread bentonites that have yield edages of 93 to 93.5 Ma.

Following the unanimous recommendation of the International Commission on Stratigraphy, the Global boundary Stratotype Section and Point (GSSP) for the base of the Cenomanian Stage is defined at a level 36 metres below the top of the Marnes Bleues Formation, a level that corresponds to the the first appearance of the planktonic foraminiferan Rotalipora globotruncanoides Sigal, 1948, on the south side of Mont Risou, east of Rosans, Haute-Alpes, France, where it can be placed in the context of a series of secondary marker levels based on nannofossils, planktonic foraminifera, ammonites,and an ornate δ^13C curve.

Irritable bowel syndrome: A microbiome-gut-brain axis disorder?

Irritable bowel syndrome(IBS) is an extremely prevalent but poorly understood gastrointestinal disorder. Consequently, there are no clear diagnostic markers to help diagnose the disorder and treatment options are limited to management of the symptoms. The concept of a dysregulated gut-brain axis has been adopted as a suitable model for the disorder. The gut microbiome may play an important role in the onset and exacerbation of symptoms in the disorder and has been extensively studied in this context. Although a causal role cannot yet be inferred from the clinical studies which have attempted to characterise the gut microbiota in IBS, they do confirm alterations in both community stability and diversity. Moreover, it has been reliably demonstrated that manipulation of the microbiota can influence the key symptoms, including abdominal pain and bowel habit, and other prominent features of IBS. A variety of strategies have been taken to study these interactions, including probiotics, antibiotics, faecal transplantations and the use of germ-free animals. There are clear mechanisms through which the microbiota can produce these effects, both humoral and neural. Taken together, these findings firmly establish the microbiota as a critical node in the gut-brain axis and one which is amenable to therapeutic interventions.
