Particle Image Velocimetry(PIV)techniques were developed to measure the convec- tive N_2-air flow under gradient magnetic *** velocity fields were calculated by the Minimum Quadratic Difference(MQD)algorithm and spurious vectors were eliminated by Delaunay Tessellation. The N_2-air flow was measured as the magnetic flux density varying from 0～1.5 T.A strengthened vortex flow of air was observed under the condition that the magnetic field was applied,and the ve- locity of N_2 jet rose with the increase of the magnetic *** experimental results show that the magnetic force will induce a vortex flow and cause a convection flow of the air mixture when both gradients of the O_2 concentration and the magnetic field intensity exist.

In this study,older male drivers’stress while driving in straight links and while proceeding through intersections is *** area network(CAN),self-reported stress(SRS),and physiological data was collected in 22.4 km-long experimental trips among older and young ***,this study finds that older drivers reported much less stress than young ***,principal components(PCs)of the physiological data demonstrate that older drivers might underrate their driving stress in entire trips,except regarding turning at ***,following other vehicles reduced older drivers’driving stress because preceding vehicles might help them control driving speed,detect the path,and prevent road *** contrast,the similar condition increased the stress level of young *** results of random effects regression models confirm that age was the significant impact factor on SRS and physiological *** examining whether the stress at intersections could affect their driving behaviors,significant difference between two age groups was found neither in turning time nor in the driving *** study also confirms that physical and mental changes with aging can negatively affect older adults’*** the relationships among stress,speed,and accidents,we suggest the provision of more driver assistance systems,training,and education and improving intersection design for older drivers.

Intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm of the bile duct(IPNB)is recognized as a precancerous lesion;however,both its pathogenesis and progression remain *** present here a case of IPNB arising from the gallbladder accompanied by bile duct tumor thrombus in a 79-year-old *** resected specimen revealed a tubulopapillary adenoma with no malignant *** case suggests that even in the absence of malignant cells,these tumors can behave as malignant tumors requiring aggressive *** if no malignant cells are present,intraepithelial neoplasms occurring in the ampullopancreatobiliary tract can behave as malignant tumors.

Systems using numerous cameras are emerging in many fields due to their ease of production and reduced cost, and one of the fields where they are expected to be used more actively in the near future is in image-based rendering （IBR）. Color correction between views is necessary to use multi-view systems in IBR to make audiences feel comfortable when views are switched or when a free viewpoint video is displayed. Color correction usually involves two steps： the first is to adjust camera parameters such as gain, brightness, and aperture before capture, and the second is to modify captured videos through image processing. This paper deals with the latter, which does not need a color pattern board. The proposed method uses scale invariant feature transform （SIFT） to detect correspondences, treats RGB channels independently, calculates lookup tables with an energy-minimization approach, and corrects captured video with these tables. The experimental results reveal that this approach works well.

Abstrac Khmelnitskaya et *** recently proposed the average covering tree value as a new solution concept for cooperative transferable utility games with directed graph *** average covering tree value is defined as the average of marginal contribution vectors corresponding to the specific set of rooted trees,and coincides with the Shapley value when the game has complete communication *** this paper,we discuss the computational complexity of the average covering tree *** show that computation of the average covering tree value is#P-complete even if the characteristic function of the game is{0,1}-*** prove this by a reduction from counting the number of all linear extensions of a partial order,which has been shown by Brightwell et *** be a#P-complete counting *** implication of this result is that an efficient algorithm to calculate the average covering tree value is unlikely to exist.

Japan has a long history of using foods with health benefits and Japanese people are well-known for their *** 1991,the Ministry of Health,Labor and Welfare introduced a functional food regulation called“foods for specified health uses”(FOSHU)in *** the introduction of the functional food system,many clinically proven FOSHU products with health benefits have been developed and launched in the *** a result,the net sales of FOSHU products reached 6.2 billion dollars in *** of the health claims relate to improving gastro-intestinal health using ***,high blood pressure,high LDL-cholesterol,and high blood glucose are mainly associated with the related health *** 2007,the market for FOSHU products was almost ***,a novel functional regulatory system\called“Foods with Function Claims”was established in 2015 based on the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act system established in the *** health claims in the new regulation system are associated with fatigue,eyes,memory,stress,sleep,joints,blood flow,body temperature,muscles,and Body Mass *** the introduction of the new system,the total sales for functional foods including FOSHU products reached 8 billion dollars in *** new functional regulatory system is more flexible in terms of health claims,the protocol for clinical studies,and the required ***,the market for new regulatory products is still *** the present paper,the potential of both regulatory systems and some related issues will be discussed.

An Overview of the Biology of Reaction Wood Formation

Reaction wood possesses altered properties and performs the function of regulating a tree＇s form, but it is a serious defect in wood utility. Trees usually develop reaction wood in response to a gravistimulus. Reaction wood in gymnosperms is referred to as compression wood and develops on the lower side of leaning stems or branches. In arboreal, dicotyledonous angiosperms, however, it is called tension wood and is formed on the upper side of the leaning. Exploring the biology of reaction wood formation is of great value for the understanding of the wood differentiation mechanisms, cambial activity, gravitropism, and the systematics and evolution of plants. After giving an outline of the variety of wood and properties of reaction wood, this review lays emphasis on various stimuli for reaction wood induction and the extensive studies carried out so far on the roles of plant hormones in reaction wood formation. Inconsistent results have been reported for the effects of plant hormones. Both auxin and ethylene regulate the formation of compression wood in gymnosperms. However, the role of ethylene may be indirect as exogenous ethylene cannot induce compression wood formation. Tension wood formation is mainly regulated by auxin and gibberellin. Interactions among hormones and other substances may play important parts in the regulation of reaction wood formation.

Steroid-sparing strategies in the management of ulcerative colitis:Efficacy of leukocytapheresis

Active ulcerative colitis （UC） is frequently associated with infiltration of a large number of leukocytes into the bowel mucosa. Leukocytapheresis is a novel nonphar- macologic approach for active UC, in which leukocytes are mechanically removed from the circulatory system. Current data indicate that leukocytapheresis is effica- cious in improving response and remission rates with excellent tolerability and safety in patients with UC. Corticosteroid therapy remains a mainstay in the treat- ment of active UC, however, long-term, high doses of corticosteroids usually produce predictable and po- tentially serious side effects. If leukocytapheresis can spare patients from exposure to corticosteroids, the risk of steroid-induced adverse events should be mini- mized. This may be of great benefit to patients because severe side effects of steroids seriously impair health- related quality of life. In this article, we reviewed cur- rent evidence on whether leukocytapheresis can avoid or reduce the use of corticosteroids in the manage- ment of patients with UC. Several studies have shown that leukocytapheresis was effective for steroid-nafve patients with active UC. Furthermore, both short-term and long-term studies have demonstrated the steroid- sparing effects of leukocytapheresis therapy in patients with UC. Although the evidence level is not striking, theavailable data suggest that leukocytapheresis can avoid or reduce the use of corticosteroids in the management of UC. Large, well-designed clinical trials are necessary to more accurately evaluate the steroid-sparing effects of leukocytapheresis in the management of UC.

Many patients with Crohn’s disease (CD) require surgery. Indications for surgery include failure of medical treatment, bowel obstruction, fistula or abscess formation. The most common surgical procedure is resection. In jejunoileal CD, strictureplasty is an accepted surgical technique that relieves the obstructive symptoms, while preserving intestinal length and avoiding the development of short bowel syndrome. However, the role of strictureplasty in duodenal and colonic diseases remains controversial. In extensive colitis, after total colectomy with ileorectal anastomosis (IRA), the recurrence rates and functional outcomes are reasonable. For patients with extensive colitis and rectal involvement, total colectomy and end-ileostomy is safe and effective; however, a few patients can have subsequent IRA, and half of the patients will require proctectomy later. Proctocolectomy is associated with a high incidence of delayed perineal wound healing, but it carries a low recurrence rate. Patients undergoing proctocolectomy with ileal pouch-anal anastomosis had poor functional outcomes and high failure rates. Laparoscopic surgery has been introduced as a minimal invasive procedure. Patients who undergo laparoscopic surgery have a more rapid recovery of bowel function and a shorter hospital stay. The morbidity also is lower, and the rate of disease recurrence is similar compared with open procedures.
