As an accurate 2D/3D fabrication tool,inkjet printing technology has great potential in preparation of micro electronic *** morphology of droplets produced by the inkjet printer has a great impact on the accuracy of *** this study,the drop-on-demand(DoD)inkjet simulation model was established,and the accuracy of the simulation model was verified by corresponding *** simulation result shows that the velocity of the droplet front and tail,as well as the time to disconnect from the nozzle is mainly affected by density(ρ),viscosity(μ)and surface tension(σ)of *** the liquid filament is about to disconnect from the nozzle,the filament length and filament front velocity are found to have a linear correlation withσ/ρμand ln(ρ/(μσ1/2)).

To develop a sound post-treatment process for anaerobically-digested strong wastewater,a novel natural treatment system comprising two units is put *** first unit,a trickling filter,provides for further reduction of biochemical oxygen demand and adjustable *** subsequent soil–plant unit aims at removing and recovering the nutrients nitrogen（N）,phosphorus（P）and potassium（K）.As a lab-scale feasibility study,a soil column test was conducted,in which black soil and valuable Kentucky bluegrass were integrated to treat artificial nutrient-enriched *** a long-term operation,the nitrification function was well established in the top layers,despite the need for an improved denitrification process prior to discharge.P and K were retained by the soil through distinct *** they either partially or totally remained in plant-available forms in the soil,indirect nutrient reuse could be *** for Kentucky bluegrass,it displayed better growth status when receiving wastewater,with direct recovery of 8%,6% and 14% of input N,P and K,***,the indispensable role of Kentucky bluegrass for better treatment performance was proved,as it enhanced the cell-specific nitrification potential of the soil nitrifying microorganisms inhabiting the *** further upgrade,the proposed system is expected to become a new solution for strong wastewater pollution.

Synergistic Integration of Detailed Meteorological and Community Information for Evacuation from Weather-Related Disasters: Proposal of a ‘‘Disaster Response Switch’’

Meteorological information used for disaster prevention has developed rapidly in terms of both type and *** latest forecasting models can predict weather with very high resolutions that can characterize disaster risk at the local ***,this development can lead to an overdependency on the information and a wait-and-see attitude by the *** the same time,residents share and use various types of information for disaster response,such as local conditions,in addition to official disaster *** research in Japan verified the practicality and efficiency of synergistically integrating these types of information by examining actual evacuation *** current numerical forecasting models sufficiently identify locality from the viewpoint of various administrative scales such as prefectures,municipalities,and school districts,but the improvements to these models have failed to improve residents’judgment in successful evacuation *** therefore analyzed the relationship between meteorological information and residents’disaster response and confirmed that they were strongly correlated and were contributing factors in preventing *** revealed differences between a community’s disaster prevention culture and the disaster information *** led us to propose a new concept in community disaster prevention that we call the‘‘disaster response switch,’’which can serve as a data-driven risk management tool for communities when used in combination with advanced meteorological disaster information.

This paper provides a review on sample injectors which are provided at SPring-8 Angstrom Compact free electron LAser(SACLA) for conducting serial measurement in a ‘diffract-before-destroy' scheme using an x-ray free electron laser(XFEL). Versatile experimental platforms at SACLA are able to accept various types of injectors, among which liquidjet, droplet and viscous carrier injectors are frequently utilized. These injectors produce different forms of fluid targets such as a liquid filament with a diameter in the order of micrometer, micro-droplet synchronized to XFEL pulses, and slowly flowing column of highly viscous fluid with a rate below 1 μL min-1. Characteristics and applications of the injectors are described.

Daylighting plays an eminent role in the performance of indoor environments and their occupants,thus necessitating the need to investigate daylight perception of potential occupants at early design *** present study introduces an interactive approach to collect and visualize brightness perception of daylighting in a large-scale immersive virtual environment using a game engine as a daylight simulation *** developed system allows users to explore building models freely at different day times set in virtual reality and report their perceptions in real *** a validation study(N=36)to investigate the consistency of brightness perceptions in a real environment and its virtual replica,a set of 24 participants were recruited to use the system to report their brightness perception in a virtual model of a daylit art museum,through snapshotting the scenes where they perceive as one of the following in terms of daylighting:(very dark,dark,bright,or very bright).Using an output of 419 snapshots,a"Perceptual Light Map"(PLM)was developed to visualize the collective brightness perception of participants as a heat *** responses were found to be positively correlated with four daylight metrics,with the highest correlation to mean luminance and the lowest to luminance *** findings of this exploratory study represent a step towards a user-oriented supplement tool to the existing quantitative daylight metrics,validating game engines’adequacy as a daylight simulation tool,and illustrating the potentials of immersion and interaction principles for the perception of daylit spaces in virtual reality.

Diarrheal diseases can be transmitted via both primary infection due to exposures to contaminated materials from the environment and secondary infection due to person- to-person contacts. Usually, the importance of secondary infection is empirically assessed by fitting mathematical models to the epidemic curves. However, these empirical models may not be applicable to other epidemic cases because they are developed only for the target epidemics and they don＇t consider the detail routes of infection. In our previous study, we developed a theoretical model taking into account the various routes of infection that commonly occur in households （e.g., shaking hands, food handling, and changing diapers）. This model was made flexible and applicable to any epidemics by means of adjusting model parameters. In this study, we proposed a new index ＂Vulnerability indicator to secondary infection （VISI）＂, which expressed a ratio of secondary infection to primary infection risks and calculated this index in a simulated norouirus （NOV） epidemic that involved I0,000 households. The results demonstrated that households composed of more than three members including infant（s） had much higher levels of VlSl （5-45） than two-member-households with VlSI （0.1-4）. These results concluded that the infants were likely to be a hub of secondary infections in highly dense families and therefore careful handling of diapers was deemed indispensible in such families to effectively control the secondary infections.

The development of vehicle integrated photovoltaics-powered electric vehicles (VIPV-EV) significantly reduces CO2 emissions from the transport sector to realize a decarbonized society. Although long-distance driving of VIPV-EV without electricity charging is expected in sunny regions, driving distance of VIPV-EV is affected by climate conditions such as solar irradiation and temperature rise of PV modules. In this paper, detailed analytical results for effects of climate conditions such as solar irradiation and temperature rise of PV modules upon driving distance of the VIPV-EV were presented by using test data for Toyota Prius and Nissan Van demonstration cars installed with high-efficiency InGaP/GaAs/InGaAs 3-junction solar cell modules with a module efficiency of more than 30%. The temperature rise of some PV modules studied in this study was shown to be expressed by some coefficients related to solar irradiation, wind speed and radiative cooling. The potential of VIPV-EV to be deployed in 10 major cities was also analyzed. Although sunshine cities such as Phoenix show the high reduction ratio of driving range with 17% due to temperature rise of VIPV modules, populous cities such as Tokyo show low reduction ratio of 9%. It was also shown in this paper that the difference between the driving distance of VIPV-EV driving in the morning and the afternoon is due to PV modules’ radiative cooling. In addition, the importance of heat dissipation of PV modules and the development of high-efficiency PV modules with better temperature coefficients was suggested in order to expand driving range of VIPV-EV. The effects of air-conditioner usage and partial shading in addition to the effects of temperature rise of VIPV modules were suggested as the other power losses of VIPV-EV.

The accessory pancreatic duct (APD) is the main drainage duct of the dorsal pancreatic bud in the embryo,entering the duodenum at the minor duodenal papilla (MIP).With the growth,the duct of the dorsal bud undergoes varying degrees of atrophy at the duodenal *** of the APD in 291 control cases was 43% as determined by dye-injection endoscopic retrograde *** of the APD in 46 patients with acute pancreatitis was only 17%,which was significantly lower than in control cases (P < 0.01).The terminal shape of the APD was correlated with APD *** on the data about correlation between the terminal shape of the APD and its patency,the estimated APD patency in 167 patients with acute pancreatitis was 21%,which was signif icantly lower than in control cases (P < 0.01).A patent APD may function as a second drainage system for the main pancreatic duct to reduce the pressure in the main pancreatic duct and prevent acute *** f indings of 91 patients with pancreaticobiliary maljunction (PBM) were divided into a normal duct group (80 patients) and a dorsal pancreatic duct (DPD) dominant group (11 patients).While 48 patients (60%) with biliary carcinoma (gallbladder carcinoma,n=42;bile duct carcinoma,n=6) were identified in PBM with a normal pancreatic duct system,only two cases of gallbladder carcinoma (18%) occurred in DPD-dominant patients (P < 0.05).Concentration of amylase in the bile of DPD dominance was signifi cantly lower than that of normal pancreatic duct system (75 403.5 ± 82 015.4 IU/L vs 278 157.0 ± 207 395.0 IU/L,P < 0.05).In PBM with DPD dominance,most pancreatic juice in the upper DPD is drained into the duodenum via the MIP,and reflux of pancreatic juice to the biliary tract might be reduced,resulting in less frequency of associated biliary carcinoma.
