Single-crystal X-ray diffraction at pressures up to 50 GPa has been employed to study the compression behavior of Sm2Ti2O7-pyrochlore. In contrast to earlier reports, we observed no pressure-induced amorphization or pressure-induced anion disorder up to 50 GPa. The experimental study has been complemented by density functional theory-based calculations. A combination of the theoretical and experimental data yields a bulk modulus of 185 GPa, significantly higher than a value which had been reported earlier. In comparison to earlier work, the current study provides more reliable data due to the use of neon as a pressure medium, which provides a more hydrostatic pressure than the aluminum, which had been employed as a pressure medium in the earlier studies. An analysis of the compressibility of Al2B2O7 pyrochlores shows an approximately linear dependence of the bulk modulus on the unit cell volume.

Purpose: To assess the utility of HeartSmart?, a new method that uses empirical physiological formulae to estimate hemodynamic variables, in estimating cardiac index during open heart surgery when compared with the cardiopulmonary bypass machine. Methods: This was a prospective, blinded study of patients undergoing elective cardiac bypass surgery. We monitored and compared the flow rates provided by the cardiopulmonary bypass machine (roller pump) with estimates derived from the empirical physiological formulae embedded in the HeartSmart? monitor in 32 patients. Cardiac index values were compared at the start of cardiopulmonary bypass, during re-warming, and at the end of cardiopulmonary bypass. Results: A total of 256 paired sets of measurements were suitable for comparison. The mean of the differences or bias (95% limits of agreement) was 0.09 l/min/m2 and the limits of agreement –0.86 to 1.05 l/min/m2. The mean difference of the sets of 256 measurements was 585.5 l/min/m for the pump and 575.0 l/min/m2 for the empirical physiological formulae—a difference of 5% l/min/m2. The range of flow rates for the pump was 1.2 to 2.85 l/min/m2;for the empirical physiological formulae, the range was 1.2 to 3.0 l/min/m2. Conclusion: The cardiac index estimates derived from the empirical physiological formulae in the HeartSmart? software are in good agreement with pump cardiac output rates. These results suggest that HeartSmart? measurements are sufficiently accurate for assessing hemodynamic variables in many groups of patients.

A new snake protein,named bilinexin,has been purified from Agkistrodon bilineatusvenom by ion-exchange chromatography and gel filtration *** non-reducingconditions it has a mass of 110 kDa protein on *** reduction,it can be separated into fivesubunits with masses in the range of 13-25 *** N-terminal sequences of these subunits are verysimilar to those of convulxin or the alboaggregins,identifying bilinexin as a new member of the snakeC-type lectin family,unusual in having multiple *** collagen-induced aggregation ofplatelets,bilinexin agglutinates fixed platelets,washed platelets and platelet rich plasma（PRP）withoutobvious activation（shape change）,confirmed by light microscope *** inhibitory andbinding studies indicate that antibodies against αβ inhibit not only platelet agglutination induced bybilinexin,but also bilinexin binding to ***16d,a monoclonal anti-GPIbαantibody,completely inhibits platelet agglutination induced by bilinexin,and polyclonal antibody against GPIbαprevents its binding to ***,Neither convulxin,polyclonal anti-GPVI antibody norGPIIb/IIIa inhibitors affect its binding to and agglutination of *** neither activatesGPIIb/IIIa integrin on platelets and nor induces tyrosine phosphorylation of platelet proteins,norincreases intracellular Cain *** alboaggregin B,bilinexin agglutinates platelets,whichmakes it a good tool to investigate the differences in mechanism between snake C-type lectins causingplatelet agglutination and those that induce full activation.

目的 :介绍作者所在的实验中心近年来对于黄斑区和近周边视网膜区 (≤ 8°)模糊认知感的研究结果。方法和结果 :先后介绍三个实验。实验一测量了近周边视网膜区的焦深 (即对视网膜离焦的主觉耐受程度 ) ,并将其与黄斑区的反应进行了比较。实验二测量了近周边视网膜区的模糊敏感阈值和模糊辨别阈值。上述两实验结果表明 ,人眼焦深在近周边视网膜区随其与黄斑的距离增大而逐渐升高 ,其值从黄斑区的 0 .89D增加到距黄斑 8度视角离心区的 3.51D。模糊敏感阈值 ,即导致初始模糊认知感的视网膜离焦度 ,也随其与黄斑的距离增大而逐渐升高 ;其值从黄斑区的 0 .85D增加到距黄斑 8度视角离心区的 1 .89D。模糊辨别阈值 ,即在初始模糊认知感的条件下觉察初始模糊程度改变的视网膜离焦度 ,同样亦随其与黄斑的距离增大而逐渐升高 ,其值从黄斑区的 0 .4 5D增加到距黄斑 8度视角离心区的 0 .93D。基于实验一 ,二的结果 ,作者设计了实验三 :通过测量视标大小对焦深的影响以研究近周边视网膜区和黄斑区对模糊认知感的综合效应。结果表明 ,人眼焦深在近周边视网膜区随着视标尺寸的增大而逐渐升高 ,且据其数据分析结果及回归方程斜率的个体差异性 ,可将总体实验对象区分为两个亚组 :即“黄斑主导型”和“黄斑
