Femtosecond mode-locked laser frequency combs have served as the cornerstone in precision spectroscopy,alloptical atomic clocks,and measurements of ultrafast *** frequency microcombs based on nonlinear microresonators have been examined,exhibiting remarkable precision approaching that of laser frequency combs,on a solid-state chip-scale platform and from a fundamentally different physical *** recent successes,to date,the real-time dynamical origins and high-power stabilities of such frequency microcombs have not been fully ***,we unravel the transitional dynamics of frequency microcombs from chaotic background routes to femtosecond mode-locking in real time,enabled by our ultrafast temporal magnifier metrology and improved stability of dispersion-managed dissipative *** our dispersion-managed oscillator,we further report a stability zone that is more than an order-of-magnitude larger than its prior static homogeneous counterparts,providing a novel platform for understanding ultrafast dissipative dynamics and offering a new path towards high-power frequency microcombs.

Optical solitons—stable waves balancing delicately between nonlinearities and dispersive effects—have advanced the field of ultrafast optics and dynamics,with contributions spanning from supercontinuum generation to soliton fission,optical event horizons,Hawking radiation and optical rogue waves,among ***,we investigate picojoule soliton dynamics in silicon slow-light,photonic-bandgap waveguides under the influence of Drude-modeled,free-carrier-induced nonlinear *** real-time and single-shot amplified dispersive Fourier transform spectroscopy simultaneously with high-fidelity cross-correlation frequency resolved optical gating at femtojoule sensitivity and femtosecond resolution,we examine the soliton stability limits,the soliton dynamics including free-carrier quartic slow-light scaling and acceleration,and the Drude electron–hole plasma-induced perturbations in the Cherenkov radiation and modulation *** real-time single-shot and time-averaged cross-correlation measurements are matched with our detailed theoretical modeling,examining the reduced group velocity free-carrier kinetics on solitons at the picojoule scale.

β-PbO2 electrodes were prepared by electro-deposition and characterized by scanning electron microscopy,X-ray diffraction,X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy,and linear sweep *** confirmed pure β-PbO2 crystals were on the electrode and it had a high oxygen evolution *** photoactivity and photoelectrochemical（PEC） properties of the β-PbO2 electrode were investigated under visible light irradiation（λ 〉 420 nm） for the decolorization of Methylene *** first-order kinetics parameter（Kapp） for dye decolorization using the β-PbO2 electrode achieved 6.71×10-4 min-1 under visible light irradiation,which indicated its excellent visible light-induced *** Kapp of the PEC process was as much as 1.41×10-3 min-1 and was 1.71 times that of visible light irradiation or electrolysis even in the presence of the β-PbO2 electrode.A significant synergetic effect was observed in the PEC *** also employed TiO2 modified β-PbO2 electrodes in this test,which revealed that the TiO2 immobilized on the β-PbO2 electrode inhibited the visible light-induced PEC efficiency despite the amount of TiO2 used for electrode *** β-PbO2 electrode was also superior to the dimensionally stable anode（Ti/Ru0.3Ti0.7O2） in visible light-induced photoactivity and PEC efficiency.

With improvements in survival, liver trans- plant recipients now suffer more morbidity from long-term immunosuppression. Considerations were given to develop individualized immunosuppression based on their risk of re- jection. METHOD： We retrospectively analyzed the data of 788 liver transplants performed during the period from October 1991 to December 2011 to study the relationship between acute cel- lular rejection （ACR） and various clinical factors. RESULTS： Multivariate analysis showed that older age （P=0.04, OR=0.982）, chronic hepatitis B virus infection （P=0.005, OR= 0.574）, living donor liver transplantation （P=0.02, OR=0.648） and use of interleukin-2 receptor antagonist on induction （P〈0.001, OR=0.401） were associated with fewer ACRs. Patients with fulminant liver failure （P=.004, OR=4.05） were more likely to develop moderate to severe grade ACR. CONCLUSIONS： Liver transplant recipients with older age, chronic hepatitis B virus infection, living donor liver trans- plantation and use of interleukin-2 receptor antagonist on in- duction have fewer ACR. Patients transplanted for fulminant liver failure are at higher risk of moderate to severe grade ACR. These results provide theoretical framework for developing individualized immunosuppression.

Background Asthma is a significant chronic health problem worldwide. Management aims at disease control by reducing functional impairment and exacerbations and improving quality of life (QoL). We report a multi-center study to survey asthma control and QoL in four cities in the Pearl River Delta. Methods The conjoint survey involved ten Hong Kong pediatric hospitals/units, two Shenzhen hospitals, two Macao hos-pitals, and two Guangzhou hospitals on asthma control (using Asthma Control Test) and QoL (Pediatric Allergic Disease Quality of Life Questionnaire, PADQLQ). Acceptability of a treatment is graded as very good/good/fair/poor. Results Good asthma control was only reported in 80% subjects in Hong Kong, but higher in sister cities (85–94%, P<0.001). Allergic rhinitis, 'incense burning', and 'smoker in family' were prevalent among the four cities. Logistic regres-sion showed better control of asthma was associated with better PADQLQ (B=?0.029, P < 0.001), better acceptability of bronchodilator (B=?1.488, P = 0.025), negatively with 'smoker in family' (B=?0.83, P = 0.015) and various PADQLQ domains. Conversely, worse PADQLQ was associated with allergic rhinitis severity (B=4.77, P <0.001), poor control of asthma (B=7.56, P <0.001), increased frequency of traditional Chinese medicine use (B=1.7, P < 0.05), increased fre-quency of bronchodilator usage (B=1.05, P < 0.05), 'smoker in family' (B=4.05, P < 0.05), and incense burning at home (B=3.9, P < 0.05). Conclusions There are some clinical and cultural differences among the four southern Chinese cities within the Guangdong province. This study identifies potentially modifiable environmental and treatment factors associated with poor asthma control and QoL for health-care interventions. Having a smoker in the family is independently associated with poor asthma control and QoL.
