The field of vascular medicine has undergone a profound transformation in the 21st century,transforming our approach to assessment and ***-sclerosis,a complex inflammatory disease that affects medium and large arteries,presents a major challenge for researchers and healthcare *** condition,characterized by arterial plaque formation and narrowing,poses sub-stantial challenges to vascular health at individual,national,and global *** repercussions are far-reaching,with clinical outcomes including ischemic heart disease,ischemic stroke,and peripheral arterial disease—conditions with esca-lating global *** detection of vascular changes caused by athero-sclerosis is crucial in preventing these conditions,reducing morbidity,and averting *** article underscored the imperative of adopting a holistic approach to grappling with the intricacies,trajectories,and ramifications of *** stresses the need for a thorough evaluation of the vasculature and the implementation of a multidisciplinary treatment *** consi-dering the entire vascular system,healthcare providers can explore avenues for prevention,early detection,and effective management of this condition,ultima-tely leading to improved patient *** discussed current practices and proposed new directions made possible by emerging diagnostic modalities and treatment ***,we considered healthcare expenditure,resour-ce allocation,and the transformative potential of new innovative treatments and technologies.

The history of mankind contains so many illustrations of well-classified and violent struggles against various animals over crop production in agricultural fields, attacks on human life or competition in order to have access to certain natural resources. The aim of this study is to characterise the human-wildlife conflicts that occur around the KBNP, especially with regard to primates. Surveys were carried out in 260 households selected using the snowball method. The results showed that human-wildlife conflicts around the KBNP are characterised by the destruction of crops in riparian fields by monkeys, chimpanzees and gorillas, the destruction of houses, physical attacks and zoonoses. Despite the conservation and protection measures for wildlife and local populations put in place by the Park’s managers, conflicts between local populations and the Park’s wild animals are still visible. These conflicts lead to the detention of wild animals by local people roaming in the villages and to poaching on the Park’s boundaries. The weakness of the community management policy on the part of the park managers and the resentment of the indigenous peoples towards the restriction of their access to natural resources are the major constraints on the sustainable management of conflicts between the local populations and the wild animals in the KBNP. The strategies for the sustainable resolution of human-wildlife conflicts around the KBNP must be geared towards and integrated into a community conservation approach.

The COVID-19 pandemic highlighted the urgent need to strengthen public health *** response,the United Nations Disaster Risk Reduction(UNDRR) Public Health System Resilience Scorecard(Scorecard) was applied in workshops across multiple *** aim of our research was to explore the workshop findings to develop priority strategies for strengthening public health system *** conducted a workshop from 14 to 16 March 2023,at the UNDRR Global Education and Training Institute in Incheon,Republic of Korea.A sequential modified Delphi method was utilized to develop a set of prioritized resilience *** were drawn from 70 strategies identified from 13 distinct workshops in eight *** two surveys,23 strategies were *** received ratings of "High" or Very High" from89% of *** related to the inclusion of public health risks in emergency plans,integrating multidisciplinary teams into public health,enabling local transport mechanisms,and improving the ability to manage an influx of *** Scorecard provides an adaptable framework to identify and prioritize strategies for strengthening public health system *** leveraging this methodology,our study demonstrated how resilience strategies could inform disaster risk reduction funding,policies,and actions.

The design of dry-running friction pairings and systems determines not only their installation space and costs,but also their reliability under critical load conditions,for example in emergencies,in the case of faults,and in the event of *** knowledge of the contact pattern is highly important for the development of clutches and brakes,the contact-related measurement of the temperature of these systems has not yet been solved in a satisfactory *** its importance,the temperature distribution has only been measured in a few ***,temperature measurements of complete clutches and brakes are carried out using thermocouples *** this study,a new innovative test setup is *** setup is able to measure the heat distribution of the lining and the steel disk of a brake with high spatial resolution by means of fiber optic sensing technology and *** a novelty,it enables measurement of the heat distribution and allows to correlate it with the fade and recovery *** to the expectations,the contact pattern is heterogeneous in circumferential *** causes are discussed using simulation *** with surface analysis,the new setup contributes to the investigation of the causes of fade and recovery.

If we survey the fall of Mesopotamian empires from the beginning of written sources to the end of the Neo-Babylonian Empire we find one astonishing similarity:the warlike people that finally destroyed these empires came from the East.A number of factors,not at least geography,might explain this,but here I want to focus on the effect the Mesopotamian empires had on the bordering regions themselves and discuss the possibility that the constitution of these organized political actors pushing back against the empire was a result of Mesopotamian imperial politics themselves determined by a poor evaluation of the empire’s ability to exercise direct control of areas where military actions took *** aim of this paper is to build on earlier work and investigate the fall of the empires of Akkad and Ur III under a systemic perspective,in order to understand which factors might have caused the decline and fall of these empires that were not merely *** reasons have been suggested for the fall of Mesopotamian empires,like climatic change(Kinnier-Wilson 2005),salinization of the soil(Powell 1985),or the arrival of new ***,I want to focus on the question of whether this“arrival of new people”may be better described as the establishment of opposing political *** are often described as coming out of nowhere,but I would like to suggest that this was the result of an ethnogenesis or secondary state formation at the border of the empire.

Fabrics are an indispensable part of our everyday *** provide us with protection,offer privacy and form an intimate expression of ourselves through their *** functionality at the fiber level represents an intriguing path toward innovative fabrics with a hitherto unparalleled functionality and *** fiber technology based on thermal drawing of a preform,which is identical in its materials and geometry to the final fiber,has emerged as a powerful platform for the production of exquisite fibers with prerequisite composition,geometric complexity and control over feature size.A ’Moore’ s law’ for fibers is emerging,delivering higher forms of function that are important for a broad spectrum of practical applications in healthcare,sports,robotics,space exploration,*** this review,we survey progress in thermally drawn fibers and devices,and discuss their relevance to ’smart’ fabrics.A new generation of fabrics that can see,hear and speak,sense,communicate,harvest and store energy,as well as store and process data is *** conclude with a critical analysis of existing challenges and opportunities currently faced by thermally drawn fibers and fabrics that are expected to become sophisticated platforms delivering value-added services for our society.
