Mathematical mod.ling of the interaction between s.lar rad.ation and.the Earth's.atmos.here is.formalized.by the rad.ative trans.er equation(RTE), whos. res.lution calls.for two-s.ream approximations.among other method.. This.paper propos.s.a new two-s.ream approximation of the RTE with the d.velopment of the phas. function and.the intens.ty into a third.ord.r s.ries.of Legend.e polynomials. This.new approach, which ad.s.one more term in the expres.ion of the intens.ty and.the phas. function, allows.in the cond.tions.of a plane parallel atmos.here a new mathematical formulation of γparameters. It is.then compared.to the Ed.ington, Hemis.heric Cons.ant, Quad.ature, Combined.d.lta Function and.Mod.fied.Ed.ington, and.s.cond.ord.r approximation method. with reference to the d.s.rete Ord.nate(d.s.rt) method.δ –128 s.reams., cons.d.red.as.the mos. precis.. This.work als. d.termines.the convers.on function of the propos.d.New Method.us.ng the fund.mental d.finition of two-s.ream approximation(F-Ts.) d.veloped.in a previous.work. Notably,New Method.has.generally better precis.on compared.to the s.cond.ord.r approximation and.Hemis.heric Cons.ant method.. Compared.to the Quad.ature and.Ed.ington method., New Method.s.ows.very good.precis.on for wid. d.mains.of the zenith angle μ 0, but tend. to d.viate from the d.s.rt method.with the zenith angle, es.ecially for high values.of optical thicknes.. In s.ite of this.d.vergence in reflectance for high values.of optical thicknes., very s.rong correlation with the d.s.rt method.R ≈ 1) was.obtained.for mos. cas.s.of optical thicknes. in this.s.ud.. This.res.arch aimed.to quantify concentrations.of ammonia(NH3),carbon d.oxid.(CO_(2))and.methane(CH_(4)),es.imate emis.ions.and.analyze the factors.influencing them d.ring warm period. in an open d.iry barn equipped.with two cooling s.s.ems.in a Med.terranean climate *** d.s.ribution within the barn was.obs.rved.to vary both vertically and.horizontally,with the highes. gas.concentrations.obs.rved.in the central area of the ***_(3),CH_(4)and.CO_(2)ranged.in 1.7–7.4,7–18,560–724μg·g^(–1),*** ventilation through openings.and.the operation of cooling s.s.ems.ind.ced.changes.in ind.or microclimate cond.tions.influencing cow behavior and.cons.quently,gas.*** concentrations.were the highes. at air velocities.below 0.5 m·s.(–1).The highes. concentration of NH_(3)was.obs.rved.when the temperature-humid.ty ind.x(THI)was.72 and.78;and.CO_(2)and.CH_(4)concentrations.were the highes. with THI≥72 and.d.creas.d.with THI≤***_(3)concentrations.when barn management includ.d.three d.ily milkings.were higher than thos. meas.red.when barn management was.bas.d.on two d.ily milkings.and.lower for CH_(4)and.CO_(2).NH_(3)and.CH_(4)emis.ions.were the highes. d.ring barn cleaning,while the lowes.
