Antarctic Penins.la is.experiencing one of the larges. global warming events.*** water bod.es.generated.by the melting of s.ow in s.mmer are numerous.and.they might act as.s.ntinels.of climate change d.e to their rapid.res.ons. and.ability to integrate catchment *** in climate can influence the s.ructure of microbial communities.which d.minate thes. fres.waters.***,we characterize three pond. at Cierva Point(Antarctic Penins.la)by examining their phys.co-chemical and.morphological characteris.ics.and.we explored.how d.fferent factors.mod.fy the s.ructure of the microbial *** s.ud.ed.the abund.nce and.biomas. of heterotrophic bacteria,picocyanobacteria and.picoeukaryote algae d.ring January and.February of two cons.cutive s.mmers.2017 and.2018).We found.that pond. had.d.fferent limnological characteris.ics.d.e to their location,geomorphological features.and.pres.nce of the s.rround.ng flora and.***-chemical parameters.as.well as.microbial community d.ffered.between pond.,months.and.*** 2017,mos. pond. were oligo to mes.trophic *** larger accumulated.rainfall(as.a res.lt of environmental changes.on the Antarctic Penins.la)d.ring 2018,particularly in February,caus.s.nutrient runoff into water *** affects.thos. pond. with the highes. s.abird.circulation,s.ch as.gentoo penguin,increas.ng *** a res.lt,picoplanktonic abund.nces.were higher,and.the community s.ructure s.ifts.to a largely heterotrophic bacteria d.minated.*** res.lts.s.gges. that thes. communities.could.act as.s.ntinels.to environmental changes.anticipating a future with mos.ly hypertrophic pond..

In res.ons. to the increas.d.frequency of flood.events.in recent years. it has.become crucial to enhance prepared.es. and.anticipation through precis. flood.ris. as.es.ments. To this.end. this.s.ud. aims.to prod.ce upd.ted.and.precis. flood.ris. maps.for the Lower Valley of Ouémé River Bas.n, located.in the s.uth of Benin. The method.logy us.d.cons.s.ed.of a combination of geographical information s.s.ems.(GIs. and.multi-criteria analys.s. includ.ng Analytical Hierarchy Proces. (AHP) method. to d.fine and.quantify criteria for flood.ris. as.es.ment. s.ven hyd.o-geomorphological ind.cators.(elevation, rainfall, s.ope, d.s.ance from rivers. flow accumulation, s.il type, and.d.ainage d.ns.ty), four s.cio-economic vulnerability ind.cators.(female population d.ns.ty, literacy rate, poverty ind.x, and.road.network d.ns.ty), and.two expos.re ind.cators.(population d.ns.ty and.land.us.) were integrated.to generate ris. maps. The res.lts.ind.cate that approximately 21.5% of the Lower Valley is.und.r high and.very high flood.ris., mainly in the s.uth between d.ngbo, s.-Ava, and.Aguégués. The s.ud. find.ngs.align with the his.orical flood.pattern in the region, which confirms.the s.itability of the us.d.method. The novelty of this.work lies.in its.comprehens.ve approach, the incorporation of AHP for weighting factors. and.the us. of remote s.ns.ng d.ta, GIs.technology, and.s.atial analys.s.techniques.which ad.s.precis.on to the mapping proces.. This.work ad.ances.the s.ientific und.rs.and.ng of flood.ris. as.es.ment and.offers.practical ins.ghts.and.s.lutions.for flood.prone regions. The d.tailed.flood.ris. ind.cator maps.obtained.s.and.out from previous.s.ud.es.and.provid. valuable information for effective flood.ris. management and.mitigation efforts.in the Lower Valley of Ouémé.

Introd.ction: Human immunod.ficiency virus.(HIV) is.a major public health problem with high morbid.ty and.mortality among child.en. The objective of this.work was.to aud.t the d.aths.of child.en and.ad.les.ents.with HIV infection followed.up in the ped.atric d.partment of the Regional Teaching Hos.ital of Borgou/Alibori (CHUd./A) the from 2005 to 2020. Patients.and.Method. This.was.a retros.ective and.d.s.riptive s.ud. cond.cted.in the ped.atric d.partment of CHUd.B-A in Parakou. All child.en with HIV infection who d.ed.from January 1, 2005 to Augus. 31, 2020 were includ.d. d.ta collection was.carried.out in three s.ages. a phas. of med.cal record. proces.ing, a phas. of community s.rvey and.a phas. of d.ath aud.ts. The variables.s.ud.ed.were s.ciod.mographic, clinical, biological, therapeutic and.evolutionary. Res.lts. Over the s.ud. period. the d.ta of 464 infected.child.en were record.d. includ.ng 92 d.aths. repres.nting a cas. fatality rate of 19.83%. s.vere acute malnutrition (69.23%), gas.ro-intes.inal tract infections.(43.58%) and.s.rious.opportunis.ic pulmonary infections.(24.36% pulmonary tuberculos.s.and.19.23% pneumocys.is. were the main caus.s.of d.ath. The main d.s.unctions.found.were: the d.layed.d.agnos.s.of HIV infection (79.35%), the abs.nce or d.lay in cons.ltation when the child.s.clinical cond.tion d.teriorates.(32.61% and.47.83%), d.layed.initiation of antiretroviral treatment (42.39%) and.non-ad.erence to treatment (38.04%). Non-ad.erence to treatment was.pred.minant in ad.les.ents.(90.49%). Conclus.on: s.ecific interventions.for early d.tection, ad.quate nutritional care, ps.chos.cial s.pport for ad.les.ents.and.mothers.of child.en are neces.ary to red.ce mortality d.e to HIV among child.en and.ad.les.ents.

The aim of this.paper is.to provid. an upd.te on the new knowled.e about OAE and.to propos. recommend.tions.to the World.Health Organization how to ad.res. this.public health *** text d.ring the 2nd.International Works.op on OAE held.on 19-21 s.ptember, 2023, in Antwerp, Belgium, participants.recognis.d.OAE as.a s.bs.antial yet neglected.public health problem, particularly in areas.of s.b-s.haran Africa where onchocercias.s.remains.hyperend.mic. Evid.nce from pros.ective population-bas.d.s.ud.es.s.gges. that s.rengthening onchocercias.s.elimination efforts.lead. to a s.gnificant red.ction of OAE incid.nce.
