Bio-ceramsite technology is one of the most effective technologies in the pretreatment of drinking water. In this work, bio-ceramsite was fabricated by Citrobacterfreundii （C. freundii） immobilization on the ceramsite. The findings of the current study suggest that the bio-ceramites showed biosorption abilities for Cd（II） and Pb（II） and the removal efficiency for Pb（II） is lower than Cd（II）. The adsorption mechanism can be attributed to electrostatic attraction and covalent bond. The morphology of the cells changed after the adsorption of Cd（II） and Pb（II） due to the dissociation of the assembly of peptidoglycan and lipopolysaccharide. The fluorescence polarization has shown a significant decrease in membrane fluidity and an increase of permeability of cell membrane. The spectral profile of C. freundii suggests the alteration of carbonyl, amide and phosphonic groups on the cell membrane.

Various hepato-biliary complications are an increased incidence in patients with inflammatory bowel disease,and portal bacteremia is well documented in patients with ulcerative colitis (UC). However, few reports mention UC in association with liver abscesses. Recently, there are several reports describing cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection in association with disease exacerbation and steroid refractoriness in patients with UC. Here we present a case of refractory UC accompanied with multiple liver abscesses and CMV colitis. The patient, a 72-year-old male, with a five-year history of repeated admissions to our hospital for UC, presented with an exacerbation of his *** performed on admission suggested that his UC was exacerbated, then he was given prednisolone and mesalazine orally, and betamethasone ***, he had exacerbated symptoms. Repeat sigmoidoscopy revealed multiple longitudinal ulcers and pseudopolyps in the rectosigmoid colon. Although immunohistochemical staining of biopsy specimens and the serum testing for antigenemia were negative on admission and after the repeat sigmoidoscopy, they became histologically positive for CMV. Nonetheless, the patient developed spiking fevers, soon after ganciclovir was administered. Laboratory studies revealed an increased white cell count with left shift, and Enterococcus fecalis grew in blood cultures. An abdominal computed tomography (CT) scan was obtained and the diagnosis of liver abscesses associated with UC was made, based on CT results. The hepatic abscesses were successfully treated with intravenous meropenem for 6 wk, without further percutaneous drainage. To our knowledge, this is the first reported case of multiple liver abscesses that develop during UC exacerbation complicated by CMV colitis.

In this study,a high-throughput fabrication method called laser-assisted direct roller imprinting(LADRI)was developed to lower the cost of nanoimprinting large-area polymer films and to address problems associated with nanoimprinting,namely,microstructural damage and precision in flatness of entire *** LADRI,the laser directly heats the microstructured surface of the roller mold,which heats and melts the surface of a polymethyl methacrylate(PMMA)film to replicate the microstructures on the mold *** this study,the effects of laser power density,scanning speed,size of the microstructures,and contact pressure on the replication speed were investigated *** replication speed increased as the power and scanning speed ***,because the film required heating until it filled the entire depth of the microstructure,an appropriate replication speed was *** result was supported by simulation of the temperature distribution inside the mold and the PMMA using transient heat conduction *** demonstrate the applications of LADRI,two different optical surfaces were replicated:an antireflection(AR)structure with conical structures sized several hundred nanometers and a lightextraction structure with a microlens array(MLA)comprising 10μm lenses,for display and illumination,*** replication degree of the MLA was governed by the contact *** flow simulation indicated that the heat conduction and flow speeds of the melted PMMA surface were comparable within several tens of *** addition,the reflectivity of the AR structure decreased from 4 to 0.5%,and the light intensity of the light-extraction structure increased by a factor of 1.47.

We report a case of remitting seronegative symmetrical synovitis with pitting edema(RS3 PE) syndrome in a 71-year-old woman. She referred to our hospital with finger stiffness, edema of both hands and feet, pain of bilateral shoulder, wrist, metacarpophalangeal, proximal interphalangeal, and ankle joints. Rheumatoid factor was negative, human leukocyte antigen-B7 antigen was positive. Moreover, matrix metalloproteinase 3(MMP-3) was high. She was diagnosed with RS3 PE syndrome, and treatment with prednisolone(15 mg/d) was started. One week after prednisolone treatment initiation, CRP decreased to negative, and joint pain was almost completely resolved. However, hand stiffness persisted, and MMP-3 level was still high. Thus, prednisolone dose was increased to 20 mg/d, and the stiffness resolved. Twenty days after treatment initiation, MMP-3 was normalized. MMP-3 was more indicative of RS3 PE syndrome symptoms than CRP. Thus, MMP-3 seems to be more sensitive to RS3 PE syndrome symptoms.

When the high-pressure gas is exhausted to the vacuum chamber from the supersonic nozzle, the overexpanded supersonic jet is formed at specific condition. In two-dimensional supersonic jet, furthermore, it is known that the hysteresis phenomena for the reflection type of shock wave in the flow field is occurred under the quasi-steady flow and for instance, the transitional pressure ratio between the regular reflection （RR） and Mach reflection （MR） is affected by this phenomenon. Many papers have described the hysteresis phenomena for underexpanded supersonic jet, but this phenomenon under the overexpanded axisymmetric jet has not been detailed in the past papers. The purpose of this study is to clear the hysteresis phenomena for the reflection type of shock wave at the overexpanded axisymmetric jet using the TVD method and to discuss the characteristic of hysteresis phenomena.

In hypervelocity impacts of projectiles into thin flat targets,shock initiation and interaction dominate the responses of projectiles and targets,and especially dominate the features of the debris *** estimate the geometric features of the wave front during the first complete propagation in the sphericalprojectile,the Geometric Propagation Model(GPM)is built in this paper to describe the geometry of the shock wave front,which proposes an ellipse contour as a function of time and equivalent *** GPM identifies the geometric features of the wave front as a function of time and impact velocity *** with the GPM and SPH simulation,the shock pressure distribution and attenuation in the spherical-projectile have been ***,the attenuation of shock pressure and speed are presented as a function of impact velocity,respectively,and a method for obtaining the equivalent speed of the shock wave is proposed by the *** GPM may be applicable to hypervelocity events involving any monolithic materials as long as the equivalent speed could be supplied from numerical *** GPM proposed in this paper and the corresponding shock wave analysis provide a new insight into the processes of the quantitative analysis of the initiation of the debris cloud.
