In this study,truncated octahedron(TO)structure is selected for further analysis and we focus on 38-atom Pd-Pt-Ag trimetallic *** best chemical ordering structures of PdnAg32-nPt6 trimetallic nanoalloys are obtained at Gupta *** structures with the lowest energy at Gupta level are then re-optimized by density functional theory(DFT)relaxations and DFT results confirm the Gupta level calculations with small shifts on bond lengths indicating TO structure is favorable for 38-atom of PdnAg32-nPt6 trimetallic *** DFT excess energy analysis shows that Pd8Ag24Pt6 composition has the lowest excess energy value in common with excess energy analysis at Gupta *** Pd8Ag24Pt6 composition,eight Pd atoms are central sites of 8(111)hexagonal facets of TO,24 Ag atoms locate on surface,and 6 Pt atoms locate at the core of the *** is also obtained that all of the compositions except Pd18Ag14Pt6 and Pd20Ag12Pt6 exhibit a octahedral Pt ***,it is observed that there is a clear tendency for Ag atoms to segregate to the surface and also Pt atoms prefer to locate at core due to order parameter(R)variations.

In the last two decades, it has become clear that yo T cells recognize a diverse array of antigens including self and foreign, large and small, and peptidic and non-peptidic molecules. In this respect, 78 antigens as a whole resemble more the antigens recognized by antibodies than those recognized by T cells. Because of this antigenic diversity, no single mechanism--such as the major histocompatibility complex （MHC） restriction of ap T cells--is likely to provide a basis for all observed T-cell antigen receptor （TCR）-dependent 78 T-cell responses. Furthermore, available evidence suggests that many individual 78 T cells are poly-specific, probably using different modes of ligand recognition in their responses to unrelated antigens. While posing a unique challenge in the maintenance of self-tolerance, this broad reactivity pattern might enable multiple overlapping uses of 78 T-cell populations, and thus generate a more efficient immune response.

Objective:To evaluate the effect of ureteral access sheath(UAS)use and calibration change on stone-free rate and complications of retrograde intrarenal surgery(RIRS).Methods:Data from 568 patients undergoing RIRS for kidney or upper ureteral stones were retrospectively ***,patients were compared after 1:1 propensity score matching,according to UAS usage during RIRS(UAS used[+]87 and UAS non-used[−]87 patients).Then all UAS+patients(n=481)were subdivided according to UAS calibration:9.5-11.5 Fr,10-12 Fr,11-13 Fr,and 13-15 *** outcomes of the study were the success and complications of ***:Stone-free rate of UAS+patients(86.2%)was significantly higher than UAS−patients(70.1%)after propensity score matching(p=0.01).Stone-free rate increased with higher caliber UAS(9.5-11.5 Fr:66.7%;10-12 Fr:87.0%;11-13 Fr:90.6%;13-15 Fr:100%;plications of UAS+patients(11.5%)were significantly lower than UAS−patients(27.6%)(p=0.01).Complications(8.7%)with 9.5-11.5 Fr UAS was lower than thicker UAS(17.2%)but was not statistically significant(p=0.09).UAS usage was an independent factor predicting stone-free status or peri-and post-operative complications(odds ratio[OR]3.654,95%confidence interval[CI]1.314-10.162;OR 4.443,95%CI 1.350-14.552;OR 4.107,95%CI 1.366-12.344,respectively).Conclusion:Use of UAS in RIRS may increase stone-free rates,which also increase with higher caliber *** usage may reduce complications;however,complications seemingly increase with higher UAS calibration.

The aim of this work was to investigate the microstructure and mechanical properties of 1vol%-Ni-added yttria-stabilized zirconia (YSZ) toughened alumina composites. First, Ni powders were heterogeneously precipitated in an alumina–zirconia powder mixture suspended in water;the prepared specimens were then pressureless sintered at 1550°C/2 h in a 90vol%Ar/10vol% H2 atmosphere. The structure of phases and microstructure of the composites were characterized by X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy, respectively. Mechanical characterization of the specimens was carried out through Vickers hardness, Vickers indentation toughness, and three-point flexural bending tests. The fine Ni particles were homogeneously dispersed throughout the alumina matrix because of the employed processing method. Furthermore, hardness and toughness values were found to increase by 8% and 50%, respectively, with Ni addition, whereas the relative densities and flexural strength values were found to remain unchanged.

AIM： To investigate the serum levels of vascular endothelial growth factor receptor-2（VEGFR-2） and adropin in age-related macular degeneration（AMD）patients.·METHODS： Ninety-eight AMD patients were included in the study. Seventy-eight age- and sex-matched healthy volunteers were recruited as the control *** florescein angiography and optical coherence tomography were performed to assess the posterior segment details. Serum VEGFR-2 and adropin levels were measured using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays and compared between the study groups.· RESUlTS： AMD group had significantly increased foveal retinal thickness, serum lDl and HDl levels and significantly decreased subfoveal choroidal thickness（P =0.01, 0.047, 0.025 and 〈0.001, respectively）. Serum VEGFR-2level revealed a significant decrease in AMD patients compared to controls（26.48 ±6.44 vs 30.42 ±7.92 ng/m l,P 〈0.001）. There was an insignificant increase in serum adropin level in AMD patients（6.17±3.19 vs 5.79±2.71 ng/m l,P =0.4）. Serum level of VEGFR-2 in AMD patients had a significant negative correlation with foveal retinal thickness（r =-0.226, P =0.025） and a significant positive correlation with subfoveal choroidal thickness（r=0.2, P=0.048）.·CONClUSION： The current study demonstrated that the decreased serum VEGFR-2 level may be considered in the development of AMD. Adropin does not seem to play a role in the pathogenesis of AMD.

AIM:To evaluate the effect of brinzolamide-timolol fixed combination on intraocular pressure(IOP)after cataract ***:The study included 92 eyes of 87 patients who underwent cataract surgery and intraocular lens *** scheduled for phacoemulsification were assigned to 1 of 2 *** treatment group received 1 drop of brinzolamide-timolol fixed combination immediately after surgery,and the control group received no *** IOP was measured preoperatively and at 2h and 24h ***:The mean IOP change was lower in the treatment group than in the control group at 2h *** difference between the mean IOP values of the two groups at 2h postoperatively was found to be statistically ***-four hours after the surgery,the mean IOP change was still higher in the control group when compared to the treatment ***:The fixed combination brinzolamidetimolol can effectively reduce IOP after cataract surgery.

AIM：To evaluate the long-term sucess rate of laserassisted dacryocystorhinostomy （l-DCR） in patients with nasolacrimal duct obstruction （NDO）.METHODS：Forty-one eyes of forty patients aged between 21-85y （mean 56.7y） who underwent l-DCR for the treatment of NDO were included in this retrospective,non-randomized study. The follow-up time was *** sucess was defined as the disappearance of epiphora under normal conditions and the presence of a patent ostium on lacrimal irrigation. Anatomical success was defined as a patent lacrimal passage on syringing besides continuing epiphora. Surgical failure was defined as persistent epiphora and closed ***：Twenty-seven of 40 patients （67.5%） were female and 13 of 40 patients （32.5%） were male. The NDO was right-sided in 17 （42.5%） patients and left-sided in 22（55%） patients whereas 1 （2.5%） patient had undergone bilateral surgery. In 11 （27.5%） patients there were additional nasal abnormalities requiring simultaneous surgical approach. The average time for l-DCR was 26.50±4.9min（16-39min） and the average total amount of laser energy used was 287±27.9 J （239-367 J）. At the 5y follow-up, anatomical sucess rate was 75.0%（30 patients） and functional success rate was 65.0%（26 patients）, whereas surgical failure was seen in 25%（10 patients）. Revision of surgery was performed in 10 cases （25.0%）; failure of revision surgery was seen in 2 cases（5.0%）.CONClUSION： Transcanalicular l-DCR is a reliable and fast procedure in the treatment of NDO. It can be alternative to external DCR which is accepted as the gold standard currently. The functional and anatomical success rate is higher in the first months and years, but still satisfactory at fifth year.

AIM: To investigate the gastroprotective effect of vardenafil against indomethacin-induced gastric damage. METHODS: Forty-eight female Wistar albino rats were randomly divided into 6 groups. Group 1 received saline only. Group 2 (indomethacin) received indomethacin. Rats in group 3 and 4 were pretreated with different doses of famotidine. Group 5 and 6 were pretreated with different doses of vardenafil. Rats in groups 3 to 6 received 25 mg/kg indomethacin 30 min after pretreatment. The animals were sacrificed 6 h later and their stomachs were opened. Gastric lesions were counted and measured. The stomach of each animal was divided in two parts for histopathological examinations and nitric oxide (NO) and malondialdehyde (MDA) assays, respectively. RESUlTS: There were no gastric mucosal lesion in the saline group but all rats in the indomethacin group had gastric mucosal ulcerations (ulcer count; 6.25 ± 3.49, and mean ulcer area; 21.00 ± 12.35). Ulcer counts werediminished with famotidine 5 mg/kg (4.12 ± 2.47, P > 0.05), 20 mg/kg (2.37 ± 4.43, P l 2 mg/kg (4.37 ± 3.06), and vardenafil 10 mg/kg (1.25 ± 1.38, P l lesion areas were diminished with famotidine 5 mg/kg (8.62 ± 2.97, P l 2 mg/kg (6.62 ± 5.87, P l 10 mg/kg (0.75 ± 0.88, P levels were signif icantly higher in indometh-acin group (28.48 ± 14.51), compared to the famotidine 5 mg/kg (6,21 ± 1.88, P l 2 mg/kg (15.87 ± 3.93, P l 10 mg/kg (10.97 ± 4.50, P ly increased (P l groups were not statistically significant.
