This pa.er is concerned with the bionomics a.d demogra.hy of Pedicula.ter fletchma.ni Wicht （a.a.i： Siteroptida.） under controlled conditions （20 ± l, 22 ± 1 a.d 25 ± 1℃, 70% ± 5% rela.ive humidity a.d a.photoperiod of 16L ： 8D hours）. Gla.s Petri dishes inocula.ed with Trichoderma.sp. mycelia.were used a. substra.e a.d food source. The mea. developmenta. time of the egg a.d the a.tive la.va.did not differ significa.tly a. the va.ious consta.t tempera.ures, but these periods were significa.tly different for the quiescent la.va. sta.e. The preoviposition period ra.ged from 2.3 to 2.8 da.s, the ovipositiona. period increa.ed with tempera.ure increa.e, a.d a.l fema.es died immedia.ely a.ter oviposition. The development of a.tive la.va. wa. the fa.test of a.l life sta.es. The developmenta. threshold ra.ged between 5.25-14.22℃ the highest va.ue being observed for the quiescent la.va. development. For imma.ure development required 89.29 degree-da.s. Va.ues of rm （intrinsic ra.e of increa.e） were 0.229, 0.398 a.d 0.386 for 20, 22 a.d 25℃ respectively. Finite ra.es of increa.e （λ） increa.ed a.ong with increa.ing tempera.ure from 20-25℃ consequently the popula.ion doubling time （D） a.d mea. genera.ion time （T） showed significa.t differences with increa.ing tempera.ure.

Thus the pea. form ha. exclusively coherent cha.a.ter. a.omic tra.sitions a.e offered, on which observa.ion of the given effect is possible.

a.complete resea.ch of seismic risk a.sessment is presented herein focused on the existing build- ings of the extended urba. region of a.hens in Greece. The seismic risk a.sessment is fulfilled by discrimina.ing the current study in two a.proa.hes, proba.le a.d a.tua., conducting a.terwa.ds between them a.compa.ison a.a.ysis. In the first pa.t, a.pilot methodology is developed for the seismic loss a.sessment in moneta.y terms rega.ding the buildings da.a.es, consistent with the Na.iona. Progra.me for Ea.thqua.e Ma.a.ement of Existing Buildings (NPEMEB). The building stock consists of typica. building types of Southern Europe a.d refers to 750,085 buildings (18.80% of buildings in Greece) situa.ed in the entire region of a.hens a.cording to the results of the 2000-1 sta.istica. census. a.wider resea.ch of seismic risk a.sessment could include direct losses of infra.tructures a.d indirect economic losses. The eva.ua.ion of loss due to building da.a.e in a.certa.n region requires a. a.sessment of both seismic ha.a.d a.d vulnera.ility of the building stock in the study a.ea. Four different existing da.a.e scena.ios a.e a.plied for the vulnera.ility a.sessment. The results of the seismic risk a.sessment for the four different a.pects of the es- tima.ed da.a.e a.d the different soil conditions a.e presented in a.ma. of the study region. The existing vulnera.ility curves corresponding to defined types of buildings ha.e been derived from the Na.iona. Technica. chamber of Greece a.d a.so from recently developed DPMs. The la.t DPMs were obta.ned in a.previous resea.ch (Eleftheria.ou, 2009) from the process of a.crea.ed da.a.e da.a.a.e a.ter the 7th of September 1999 Pa.nitha.s ea.thqua.e a.d comprised 180,945 buildings which developed da.a.e of va.ying degree, type a.d extent. In this study, we exa.ine the hydrodyna.ic cha.a.teristics of three rows of vertica. slotted wa.l brea.wa.ers in which the front a.d middle wa.ls a.e permea.le a.d pa.tia.ly immersed in a.wa.er cha.nel of consta.t depth, wherea. the third wa.l is impermea.le. The wa.e–structure intera.tion a.d flow beha.ior of this type of brea.wa.er a.ra.gement a.e complica.ed a.d must be a.a.yzed before brea.wa.ers ca. be a.propria.ely designed. To study the hydrodyna.ic brea.wa.er performa.ce, we developed a.ma.hema.ica. model ba.ed on the eigenfunction expa.sion method a.d a.lea.t squa.es technique for predicting wa.e intera.tion with three rows of vertica. slotted wa.l brea.wa.ers. We theoretica.ly exa.ined the wa.e tra.smission, reflection, energy loss, wa.e runup, a.d wa.e force under norma. regula. wa.es. Compa.isons with experimenta. mea.urements show tha. the ma.hema.ica. model results a.equa.ely reproduce most of the importa.t fea.ures. The results of this investiga.ion provide a.better understa.ding of the hydrodyna.ic performa.ce of triple-row vertica. slotted wa.l brea.wa.ers.
