Antenatal anxiety in the first trimester: Risk factors and effects on anxiety and depression in the third trimester and 6-week postpartum

Objective: Anxiety is common among pregnant women. However, research attention in the area of reproductive mental health has mainly focused on postpartum depression in past decades. Given adverse outcomes of antenatal anxiety, there is an urgent need to fill the research gaps. The objectives of the present study were to determine the prevalence of antenatal anxiety symptoms and examine the risk factors and effects of anxiety symptoms in early pregnancy on anxiety and depressive symptoms in later pregnancy and early postpartum period. Methodology: A prospective longitudinal design with quantitative approach was adopted. A consecutive sample of 1470 Chinese pregnant women from hospitals in Hong Kong was invited to participate in the study and was assessed using standardized instruments on 3 time points including first and third trimesters of pregnancy and 6-week postpartum. Results: The results showed that 17.7% of pregnant women manifested anxiety symptoms in the first trimester of pregnancy. Single mothers, younger mothers, mothers who smoked before pregnancy and mothers who received low education level reported significantly higher levels of anxiety symptoms in the first trimester. Unwanted pregnancy, low self esteem, low marital satisfaction and perceived low social support were significant psychosocial risk factors for anxiety symptoms in the first trimester. Anxiety symptoms in the first trimester were independent predictors for anxiety symptoms in the third trimester ( QUOTE β = 0.26, t = 5.74, p < 0.001), however anxiety symptoms in the first trimester no longer significantly predicted anxiety and depressive symptoms in 6 weeks postpartum after adjusting for the effects of potential confounders. Discussions: The present study points to the need for greater research and clinical attention to antenatal anxiety given that antenatal anxiety is a prevalent problem and has serious impacts on maternal well-being. Effects of Earthworms and Ryegrass on the Removal of Fluoranthene from Soil

Earthworms can promote the bioremediation of contaminated soils through enhancing plant growth and microorganism development. The individual and combined effects of earthworms and ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum lam.) on the removal of fluoranthene from a sandy-loam alluvial soil were investigated in a 70-d microcosm experiment. The experiment was set up in a complete factorial design with treatments in four replicates: without earthworms or ryegrass (control, CK), with earthworms only (E), with ryegrass only (P), and with both earthworms and ryegrass (EP). The residual fluoranthene, microbial biomass C, and polyphenol oxidase activity in the soil changed significantly (P<0.01) with time. In general, the residual concentration of fluoranthene in the soil decreased sharply from 71.8-88.7 to 31.7-37.4 mg kg 1 in 14 d, and then decreased gradually to 19.7-30.5 mg kg 1 on the 70th d. The fluoranthene concentration left in the soil was the least with both earthworms and ryegrass, compared to the other treatments at the end of the experiment. Half-life times of fluoranthene in the E, P, and EP treatments were 17.8%-36.3% smaller than that of CK. More fluoranthene was absorbed by earthworms than ryegrass. However, the total amounts of fluoranthene accumulated in both the ryegrass and earthworms were small, only accounting for 0.01%-1.20% of the lost fluoranthene. Therefore, we assumed that microbial degradation would play a dominant functional role in fluoranthene removal from soil. We found that earthworms significantly increased microbial biomass C and polyphenol oxidase activity (P<0.01) in the presence of ryegrass at the end of the experiment. Furthermore, microbial biomass C and polyphenol oxidase activity were significantly (P<0.05) and negatively related to the residual fluoranthene concentration. This implied that earthworms might promote the removal of fluoranthene from soil via stimulating microbial biomass C and polyphenol oxidase activity.

提出了一种基于有限元模型缩聚技术的结构损伤统计识别方法,该方法仅需要少量传感器的测量数据.首先基于模型缩聚技术建立确定性的损伤识别过程,然后利用摄动法将概率过程融入确定性的损伤识别中,从而得到了一种基于概率统计的结构损伤识别方法.该方法通过计算未知参数(如损伤构件的弹性特征)对于测量噪声的一阶与二阶偏导数,来得到这些未知参数的均值与协方差矩阵.文中不仅阐述了该方法的理论推导过程,而且通过一个门式框架的数值仿真研究,并结合MonteCarlo数值模拟技术验证了该文方法的正确性.

Combined resection and radiofrequency ablation for multifocal hepatocellular carcinoma: Prognosis and outcomes

AIM: To analyze the combined treatment of resection and intraoperative radiofrequency ablation (RFA) for multifocal hepatocellular carcinoma in terms of prognosis and surgical ***: This study was a retrospective case comparison study using prospectively collected data. The study covered the period from April 2001 to December 2006. The data of 200 patients with histologically confirmed hepatocellular carcinoma were reviewed. Nineteen patients (17 men and 2 women) having received resection in combination with RFA were chosen as subjects of the study (the combination group). Fiftyfour patients (43 men and 11 women) having received resection alone were selected for comparison (the resection group). The two groups matched tumor number and tumor size, and all the patients in the two groups displayed no tumor rupture, major vascular involvement and distant metastasis. Their demographics, preoperative assessment, disease recurrence patterns, overall survival and diseasefree survival were ***: In the combination group, the medianage was 65 years (range, 3477 years), the median tumor number was 3 (range, 29), and the median tumor size was 6 cm (range, 1.214 cm). In the resection group, the median age was 51.5 years (range, 2780 years, P = 0.003), the median tumor number was 3 (range, 29, P = 0.574), and the median tumor size was 6 cm (range, 114 cm, P = 0.782). The two groups were similar in characteristics of tumors and comorbidities, and had comparable results in preoperative liver function tests. All patients had ChildPugh class A status. Bilobar involvement occurred in 14 patients (73.6%) in the combination group and 3 patients (5.5%) in the resection group (P = 0.04). Six patients (32%) in the combination group and 35 patients (65%) in the resection group underwent major hepatectomy. 背景非瓣膜性心房颤动(NVAF)是临床常见的心律失常,常引起栓塞事件发生,故抗凝治疗在NVAF治疗中尤为重要。华法林已被证实为有效的传统口服抗凝药,但出血风险高等缺点限制了其临床应用。近年来出现的新型口服抗凝药(NOACs)弥补了华法林的缺陷而备受临床关注。目的评价NOACs对国内NVAF患者治疗的效果与安全性。方法 2015年9月——2016年8月,计算机检索Cochrane Library、Pub Med、Web of Science、EMBase、中国知网、中国生物医学文献数据库、维普网和万方数据知识服务平台,筛选关于NOACs与华法林对NVAF患者治疗比较的随机对照试验(RCT)。提取纳入文献相关信息,并评价纳入文献质量。结果纳入15篇文献,共2 246例患者,文献质量评分为4~5分。Meta分析显示,与华法林比较,NOACs可降低NVAF患者脑卒中发生率〔OR=0.65,95%CI(0.43,0.97),P=0.04〕、非严重性出血发生率〔OR=0.44,95%CI(0.31,0.61),P<0.001〕及严重性出血发生率〔OR=0.45,95%CI(0.22,0.91),P=0.03〕;而非神经系统性血栓栓塞发生率比较,差异无统计学意义〔OR=0.72,95%CI(0.46,1.14),P=0.16〕。结论采用NOACs治疗NVAF患者脑卒中、非严重性出血及严重性出血发生率低于华法林,非神经系统性血栓栓塞发生率与华法林无差异,NOACs用于治疗国内NVAF患者具有良好的效果和安全性。

The present paper deals with the experimental result of raising the new cultivar of rice by means of haploid technique. As a result of induction of polleu callas in N-6 or Miller’s medium, the haploid and spontaneously diploidized pollen plants have differentiated from the callus. Colchicine or fumiron has been used for doubling the chromosomes of the haploid plants. The pollen plants derived from hybrids are various as manifested in the first generation, but fundamentally homogeneous in the second generation, and their progeny shows no reduction in vitality in later generations. Three better lines—Tan 3 (haploidderived 3), Tan 4, and Tan 8—have been selected out, and evaluation of the progeny of pollen plants in different districts and the large-area production for trials have been carried out. High Selective Etching of Aluminum Alloys In High Plasma Density Reactor

An inductively coupled plasma (ICP) discharge and its etching behaviors for aluminum alloys were investigated in this report. A radio frequency power supply was used for plasma generation. The unique hardware configuration enabled one to control ion energy separately from plasma density. Plasma properties were measured with a Langmuir probe. Electron temperature, plasma potential and plasma density were found to be comparable with those reported from Electron Cyclotron Resonance (ECR) and other types of reactors[1].A mixture of HBr and chlorine gases were used for this aluminum etch study. Experimental matrices were designed with Response Surface Methodology (RSM) to analyze the process trends versus etch parameters, such as source power, bias power and gas composition. An etch rate of 8500A to 9000A per minute was obtained at 5 to 15 mTorr pressure ranges. Anisotropic profiles with high photoresist selectivity (5 to 1) and silicon dioxide selectivity greater than 10 were achieved with HBr addition into chlorine ***-containing chemistry for an aluminum etch in a low pressure ICP discharge showed great potential for use in ULSI fabrication. In addition, the hardware used was very simple and the chamber size was much smaller than other high density plasma sources.
