Trizivir (Abacavir/Lamivudine/Zidovudine) plus Lopinavir/Ritonavir Induction Therapy Followed by Trizivir-Alone maintenance for HIV-1-Infected Patients: A 96-Week Pilot Treatment Simplification Study

Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate whether switching HIV-infected patients stabilized on Trizivir (abacavir 300 mg/lamivudine 150 mg/zidovudine 300 mg) plus lopinavir/ritonavir 400 mg/100mg twice daily to Trizivir alone affects clinical efficacy and tolerability. methods: This phase 4, open-label, pilot study was conducted over 96 weeks in 23 antiretroviral-na?ve, HIV-infected patients. Initially, these patients received induction therapy with Trizivir plus lopinavir/ritonavir 400 mg/100mg twice daily. Patients who achieved a viral load 3. Nineteen patients completed induction;of the four who did not, three were lost to follow-up and one withdrew due to gastrointestinal adverse events. In 14 induction completers who had viral load measurements taken at week 48, intent-to-treat: observed analysis showed a week 48 viral load 3 higher than the baseline count. Twelve patients completed the subsequent 48-week Trizivir-alone maintenance phase, of whom 11 (92%) achieved viral loads of both 3 above baseline. Trizivir-only maintenance was associated with fewer adverse events than the Trizivir-lopinavir/ritonavir induction phase and with improvement in total cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol, and triglycerides. Conclusions: Trizivir-alone maintenance after Trizivir-lopinavir/ritonavir induction maintained virologic and CD4+ cell response, and was associated with an improved adverse event and lipid profile.

香港特别行政区政府渠务署致力协助减缓全球气候变化,多年来在下辖的一些厂房安装了节能及可再生能源设施。随着香港"净化海港计划第二期甲"的正式启用,渠务署在昂船洲污水处理厂(全港处理污水量最大的污水处理厂)安装了一套水力涡轮发电系统,利用流动污水的液压能量推动涡轮发电机,继而产生电力供厂内设施使用。对这套系统进行了介绍,包括推行相关工程项目时遇到的挑战,系统设计与施工的考虑和特色,以及系统的运行表现。该系统不仅有助于节省电费开支,还利用水力减少了碳排放。

Annual rings from 30 year old vines in a California rootstock trial were measured to determine the effects of 15 different rootstocks on Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon *** traits measuring vegetative growth,yield,berry quality,and nutrient uptake were collected at the beginning(1995 to 1999)and end(2017 to 2020)of the lifetime of a vineyard initially planted in 1991 and removed in 2021.X-ray Computed Tomography(CT)was used to measure ring widths in 103 *** width was modeled as a function of ring number using a negative exponential *** and late wood ring widths,cambium width,and scion trunk radius were correlated with 27 *** of annual ring width shows that scions alter the width of the first rings but that rootstocks alter the decay of later rings,consistently shortening ring width throughout the lifetime of the *** index,juice pH,photosynthetic assimilation and transpiration rates,and instantaneous water use efficiency are correlated with scion trunk ***,our research indicates that rootstocks modulate secondary growth over years,altering physiology and agronomic *** act in similar but distinct ways from climate to modulate ring width,which borrowing techniques from dendrochronology,can be used to monitor both genetic and environmental effects in woody perennial crop species.

Hydropower production is one of the greatest threats to fluvial ecosystems and freshwater *** that we have entered the Anthropocene,there is an opportunity to reflect on what might constitute a‘sustainable’Anthropocene in the context of hydropower and riverine fish *** elements of existing practices that promote favorable social-ecological outcomes(i.e.,‘bright spots’)is timely given that there are plans to expand hydropower capacity in previously undammed rivers,intensify dam development in some of the world's largest river systems,and re-license existing *** approach this from a pragmatic perspective:for the foreseeable future,hydropower will likely remain an important source of renewable *** offer support for moving toward a more‘sustainable’Anthropocene,we provide syntheses of best practices during the siting,design,construction,operation,and compensation phases of hydropower development to minimize impacts on inland *** each phase,we offer positive examples(or what might be considered‘bright spots’)pertaining to some of the approaches described within our syntheses,acknowledging that these projects may not be viewed as without ecological and(or)societal detriment by all *** findings underscore the importance of protecting critical habitat and free-flowing river reaches through careful site selection and basinscale planning,infrastructure designs that minimize reservoir effects and facilitate safe passage of fish,construction of hydropower plants using best practices that minimize long-term damage,operating guidelines that mimic natural flow conditions,and compensation that is lasting,effective,inclusive,and locally *** from these‘bright spots’may require engagement of diverse stakeholders,professionals,and governments at scales that extend well beyond a given site,river,or even ***,environmental planning that integrates hydropower development into broader discussions

很久以前美国能源界就认识到大量的天然气资源赋存于低渗透率岩层中。在上个世纪70年代晚期,美国联邦能源管理委员会(FERC)指定了针对渗透率低于0.1m D储层开发的税收优惠政策,优惠政策的出台加速了致密气资源的广泛开发。非常规气资源在美国天然气总产量中不断增长,引起了世界各大能源公司的关注。非常规气资源包括三种主要类型:致密砂岩气(低渗透率)、页岩气、煤层甲烷。致密天然气产量目前占美国除阿拉斯加和夏威夷以外48个州非常规天然气产量的35%。尽管经过30多年的工业开发并认识到非常规天然气是美国国内油气产量的不可或缺的组成部分,但致密气开发还是面临巨大的挑战。本文着重就一直困扰致密天然气勘探开发的几个基本岩石物理问题进行讨论。

应用扫描电镜观察七星瓢虫Coccinella septempunctata的唇须和附节,以便确认在感应农药残留时起主要作用的化学感受器。研究证明分布在下颚须上的感器类型包括两种锥形感器（兼有机械感受器和化学感受器的功能）和一种钟形感器。同时本文首次报道了对这些感器精确的形态测量,明确了其性二型性。对下颚须的测量表明其左右末节的长度差异与七星瓢虫的性别之间有明显的相关性。文中还记述了下唇须上一种新的钟形感器,其在每个下唇须上的数量大约为12 ~17个。经测量这些机械感受器的平均直径为2.4μm。早期研究中所记述的锥形感器被证实是下唇须上仅有的化学感应器,并且首次证明这些锥形感器的数量与性别相关,雄性平均为18个,雌性平均为16个。附节上也存在性别差异：第2跗节跗垫的宽度在雄性中是从后向前逐渐增大,而在雌性中刚好相反。本文还就这些差异的意义以及新发现感器的功能进行了讨论。
