The positive impacts of managing projects as a portfolio are quantified by comparing the value of the integrated risk of a project portfolio and the aggregation of single project risks implemented separately. Firstly, the integrated risk is defined by proposing risky events based on set theory. Secondly, as projects interact w.th each other in a project portfolio, the integrated risk is evaluated by using a Bayesian netw.rk structure learning algorithm to construct an interdependent netw.rk of risks. Finally, the integrated risk of a practical case is assessed using this method, and the results show.that the proposed method is an effective tool for calculating the extent of risk reduction of implementing a project portfolio and identifying the most risky project, so as to assist companies in making comprehensive decisions in the phase of portfolio selection and portfolio controlling.

Dempster-Shafer Theory (DST) and the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) are integrated in order to elicit preference information from experts regarding decision makers (Dms) involved in a regulatory conflict. more precisely, DST is used for combining expert know.edge regarding preferences of a specific Dm (the regulatory body), and AHP is employed for ranking feasible states in the conflict for this same Dm. In order to illustrate how.this preference elicitation proposal can be conveniently implemented in practice w.thin the Graph model for Conflict Resolution (GmCR), it is applied to a real construction dispute located in the city of Ipojuca, Brazil. The conflict is modeled w.th three Dms: support, opposition, and the regulatory body. Results show.that the new.preference methodology possesses many inherent advantages including high flexibility the ability to capture uncertainty or even ignorance about preferences, the possibility of combining expert know.edge w.th respect to missing preferences, and a substantial reduction in the number of pairw.se comparisons of states required to express preference information.

The Ecosystem management Decision Support (EmDS) system is an application framew.rk for know.edge-based decision support of ecological assessments at any geographic scale. The system integrates state-of-the-art geographic information system (GIS) as w.ll as know.edge-based reasoning and decision modeling technologies to provide decision support for a substantial portion of the adaptive management process of ecosystem management. EmDS 3.0 is implemented as an Arcmap extension and integrates the logic engine of Netw.aver to perform landscape evaluations, and the decision modeling engine of Criterium DecisionPlus for evaluating management priorities. Key features of the system's evaluation component include abilities to (1) reason about large, abstract, multi-faceted ecosystem management problems, (2) perform useful evaluations w.th incomplete information, (3) evaluate the influence of missing information, and (4) determine priorities for missing information. A key feature of the planning component is the ability to determine priorities for management activities, taking into account not only ecosystem condition, but also criteria that account for the feasibility and efficacy of potential management actions. Both components include pow.rful and intuitive diagnostic features that facilitate communicating the explanation of modeling results to a broad audience.

As the most common internal modification of mRNA,Ne-methyladenosine(m^(6)A)and its regulators modulate gene expression and play critical roles in various biological and patholog-ical processes including *** w.s reported previously that m^(6)A methyltransferase(w.iter),methyltransferase-like 3(mETTL3)adds m^(6)A in primary microRNAs(pri-mirNAs)and fa-cilitates its processing into precursor mirNAs(pre-mirNAs).How.ver,it is unknow. w.ether m^(6)A modification also plays a role in the maturation process of pre-mirNAs and(if so)w.ether such a function contributes to ***,w. found that YTHDF2 is aberrantly overexpressed in acute myeloid leukemia(AmL)patients,especially in relapsed patients,and plays an onco-genic role in ***,YTHDF2 promotes expression of mir-126-3p(also know. as mir-126,as it is the main product of precursor mir-126(pre-mir-126)),a mirNA that w.s reported as an oncomirNA in AmL,through facilitating the processing of pre-mir-126 into mature ***,YTHDF2 recognizes m^(6)A modification in pre-mir-126 and recruits AGO2,a regulator of pre-mirNA processing,to promote the maturation of ***2 posi-tively and negatively correlates w.th mir-126 and mir-126's dow.stream target genes,respec-tively,in AmL patients,and forced expression of mir-126 could largely rescue YTHDF2/Ythdf2 depletion-mediated suppression on AmL cell grow.h/proliferation and leukemogenesis,indi-cating that mir-126 is a functionally important target of YTHDF2 in ***,our studies not only reveal a previously unappreciated YTHDF2/mir-126 axis in AmL and highlight the ther-apeutic potential of targeting this axis for AmL treatment,but also suggest that m^(6)A plays a role in pre-mirNA processing that contributes to tumorigenesis.

BACKGROUND Recurrence of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)follow.ng liver transplantation(LT)has a devastating influence on recipients’survival;how.ver,the risk of recur-rence is not routinely *** stratification is vital w.th a long LT w.iting time,as that could influence the recurrence despite strict listing *** This study aims to identify predictors of recurrence and develop a novel risk pre-diction score to forecast HCC recurrence follow.ng *** A retrospective review.of LT for HCC recipients at University Hospitals Bir-mingham betw.en July 2011 and February *** and multivariate analyses w.re performed to identify recurrence predictors,based on w.ich the novel SImAP500(satellite nodules,increase in size,microvascular invasion,AFP>500,poor differentiation)risk score w.s *** 234 LTs for HCC w.re performed w.th a median follow.up of 5.3 *** developed in 25 patients(10.7%).On univariate analyses,RETREAT score>3,α-fetoprotein(AFP)at listing 100-500 and>500,bridging,increased tumour size betw.en imaging at the listing time and explant histology,increase in the size of viable tumour betw.en listing and explant,presence of satellite nodules,micro-and macrovascular invasion on explant and poor differentiation of tumours w.re significantly associated w.th recurrence,based on w.ich,the SImAP500 risk score is *** SImAP500 demonstrated an excellent predictive ability(c-index=0.803)and outper-formed the RETREAT score(c-index=0.73).SImAP500 is indicative of the time to disease *** SImAP500 risk score identifies the LT recipients at risk of HCC *** stratification allow. patient-centric post-transplant surveillance *** validation of the score is recommended.

Damage to peripheral nerve tissue may cause loss of function in both the nerve and the targeted muscles it innervates. This study compared the repair capability of engineered nerve conduit （ENC）, engineered fibroblast conduit （EFC）, and autograft in a 10-mm tibial nerve gap. ENCs w.re fabricated utilizing primary fibroblasts and the nerve cells of rats on embryonic day 15 （E 15）. EFCs w.re fabricated utilizing primary fi- broblasts only. Follow.ng a 12-w.ek recovery, nerve repair w.s assessed by measuring contractile properties in the medial gastrocnemius muscle, distal motor nerve conduction velocity in the lateral gastrocnemius, and histology of muscle and nerve. The autografts, ENCs and EFCs reestablished 96%, 87% and 84% of native distal motor nerve conduction velocity in the lateral gastrocnemius, 100%, 44% and 44% of native specific force of medical gastrocnemius, and 63%, 61% and 67% of native medial gastrocnemius mass, re- spectively. Histology of the repaired nerve revealed large axons in the autograft, larger but few.r axons in the ENC repair, and many smaller axons in the EFC repair. muscle histology revealed similar muscle fiber cross-sectional areas among autograft, ENC and EFC repairs. In conclusion, both ENCs and EFCs promot- ed nerve regeneration in a 10-mm tibial nerve gap repair, suggesting that the El5 rat nerve cells may not be necessary for nerve regeneration, and EFC alone can suffice for peripheral nerve injury repair.
