ANALYZING MARKET COMPETITION BETWEEN AIRBUS AND BOEING USING A DUO HIERARCHICAL GRAPH MODEL FOR CONFLICT RESOLUTION

A duo hierarchical graph model for conflict resolution is developed to investigate market competition between Airbus and Boeing over aircraft sales in the Asia Pacific region. The duo hierarchical graph model, a significant extension of the graph model for conflict resolution methodology, contains two common decision makers, who take part in two related subconflicts, as well as local decision makers, who participate in only one subconflict. New stability definitions are proposed to describe forms of sanction unique to the hierarchical model. The interrelationships between stabilities in the overall graph model and in the two local models are investigated. Then the duo hierarchical graph model is applied to the competition between Airbus and Boeing in both the wide and narrow body markets in the Asia-Pacific region. The two types of Asian airlines have different operating strategies, so that the two markets constitute sub-competitions that can be modelled naturally using the duo hierarchical graph model. The stability results indicate a resolution for all decision makers that implies marketing strategies for the aircraft manufacturers and guidelines for aircraft purchase by the airlines. Thus, this model provides decision makers with a comprehensive understanding of the dynamics of the comoetition and guidance in identifving beneficial actions.

Theory and Implementation of Sensitivity Analyses Based on Their Algebraic Representation in the Graph Model

Sensitivity analyses based on an algebraic representation in the graph model for conflict resolution (GMCR) are generalized for ascertaining the robustness of stability results by varying decision makers' preference *** ordinal preferences in GMCR are advantageous to carry out sensitivity analyses with respect to systematically identifying the influence of preference alterations upon the four basic stabilities consisting of Nash stability,general metarationality,symmetric metarationality and sequential *** proposed algebraic representation of the four basic stabilities is not only effective and convenient for computer implementation of sensitivity analysis,but also makes it easier to understand the meaning of the four stabilities when compared with the existing matrix ***,these sensitivity analyses results are embedded into the latest version of the decision support system NUAAGMCR,which can be used to study real-world *** illustrate how these contributions to sensitivity analyses can be applied in practice and provide valuable strategic insights,they are used to investigate the civil war conflict in South Sudan.

NUMERICAL STUDY ON DOMINATING FACTOR AND KEY AREA OF EL NINO CYCLE FORMATION

A coupled model,which is employed to study the dominating factor and key area of El Nino cycle formation,consists of a dynamical ocean model and a statistical atmospheric *** coupled model with seasonal forcing successfully reproduces the El Nino event cycle which exhibits quasi-regular oscillations with a preferred period of about 4 *** results show that the heat content(HC)is transported between the eastern and the western tropical Pacific *** spatial distribution of HC anomalies for four phases of the whole cycle clearly shows a possible formation mechanism of El *** further suggest that sea surface temperature in the tropical Pacific and HC in the central tropical Pacific are the most important factors and the central tropical Pacific is the most important area for determining formation of El Nino cycle.

Do adjunctive art therapies reduce symptomatology in schizophrenia? A meta-analysis

BACKGROUND Art therapies are advocated by national bodies,such as the United Kingdom’s National Institute for Health and Care Excellence,to alleviate the negative symptoms associated with *** last decade has however,seen several new larger well-controlled trials published suggesting an update is *** To asses randomised controlled trials(RCT)of art therapies for reducing the symptoms of schizophrenia–particularly negative *** Searches of PubMed and Scopus were conducted until May 2019 for RCTs examining the impact of art therapies on psychosis(positive,negative and total)symptoms in people diagnosed with *** quality was assessed using the Cochrane risk of bias *** effects meta-analyses were used to derive overall effect *** analyses were conducted using both metaregression and categorical *** We identified 133 articles,of which 9 RCTs involving 948 participants(475 assigned to art therapies and 473 controls)met our inclusion *** random effects models,we calculated pooled effect sizes(Hedges g)for end-oftrial symptomatic *** sizes both for total symptoms[g=-0.27,95%confidence interval(CI)-0.60 to 0.05,k=6]and for positive symptoms(g=-0.10,95%CI-0.35 to 0.15,k=6)were non-significant;however,we did find significant reduction of negative symptoms(g=-0.42,95%CI-0.70 to-0.14,k=9).Metaregression revealed that negative symptom reduction was larger in trials with a greater proportion of women and in trials with younger ***,the negative symptom reduction following art therapies was limited to lower quality trials and did not emerge in trials that used blind assessment of *** This review presents a comprehensive meta-analysis of art therapies in schizophrenia in terms of both studies included and participant *** found that art therapies did not significantly reduce total or positive symptoms.A"small"therapeutic effect was found for n

Understanding of animal spatial behavior is essential for informed management *** southern Africa,reintroduction of lions(Panthera leo)to small reserves(60 separate visits)around the largest dam and along rivers suggest the importance of water and its surrounding vegetation in the lions’space utilization *** home range size did not differ with season or sex of the individuals,whereas shifts in locations of home ranges revealed differences in the response of the 2 sexes to territorial conflicts and management *** study shows a dynamic home range utilization pattern and highlights the importance of both fine-scale space use patterns(frequency and duration of visits)and broadscale home range changes in understanding the ranging behavior of reintroduced animals.

Two-temperature warm dense hydrogen as a test of quantum protons driven by orbital-free density functional theory electronic forces

We consider a steady-state(but transient)situation in which a warm dense aggregate is a two-temperature system with equilibrium electrons at temperature T_(e),ions at T_(i),and T_(e)≠T_(i).Such states are achievable by pump–probe *** warm dense hydrogen in such a twotemperature situation,we investigate nuclear quantum effects(NQEs)on structure and thermodynamic properties,thereby delineating the limitations of ordinary ab initio molecular *** use path integral molecular dynamics(PIMD)simulations driven by orbital-free density functional theory(OFDFT)calculations with state-of-the-art noninteracting free-energy and exchange-correlation functionals for the explicit temperature *** calibrate the OFDFT calculations against conventional(explicit orbitals)Kohn–Sham *** find that when the ratio of the ionic thermal de Broglie wavelength to the mean interionic distance is larger than about 0.30,the ionic radial distribution function is meaningfully affected by the inclusion of ***,NQEs induce a substantial increase in both the ionic and electronic *** confirms the importance of NQEs for highly accurate equation-of-state data on highly driven *** Te>20 kK,increasing Te in the warm dense hydrogen has slight effects on the ionic radial distribution function and equation of state in the range of densities *** addition,we confirm that compared with thermostatted ring-polymer molecular dynamics,the primitive PIMD algorithm overestimates electronic pressures,a consequence of the overly localized ionic description from the primitive scheme.
