NASTCNN: a spatio-temporal convolutional neural network with non-local attention mechanism for image-induced brain activity pattern recognition

Deciphering the brain’s visual processing mechanisms has always been a hot topic. Using neural signal patterns to predict the corresponding external visual stimuli is crucial in understanding the interaction of real visual scenes. There are some challenges in the study of image-induced brain activity pattern recognition based on electroencephalogram (EEG)， e.g. how to fully utilize the effective features of EEG signals to improve the classification， and how the frequency and the length of EEG effect the model performance. We design an experimental paradigm that minimizes the interaction between visual stimuli， and propose a spatio-temporal convolutional neural network with non-local attention mechanism (NASTCNN) for image-induced brain activity pattern recognition. The framework utilizes non-local feature extraction operations to realize global information interaction between EEG signals over long distances and enhance the feature expression of some important information. Our model achieves the best performance on both MNIST-EEG and ImageNet-EEG datasets. The classification results are 24.00% and 50.10% respectively， higher than the random probability. We also analyze the effects of different EEG frequency bands and time subsequences of different lengths on the classification performance and which brain regions are activated over time. The results show that when full frequency band and entire length sequence are selected， the classification result is optimal. The occipital region is essential for processing visual tasks， and the temporal region and some frontal regions also play important role in the later stage of visual decoding. This research can help us better understand the visual processing mechanism of the brain.

个体化预测膀胱结石患者术后发生尿路感染风险的列线图模型构建

目的分析影响膀胱结石患者术后发生尿路感染的危险因素, 并建立列线图预测模型。方法回顾性分析2019年12月至2021年12月在本院接受手术的401例膀胱结石患者的临床资料, 采用随机数字表法按7∶3将患者分为建模组(281例)及验证组(120例)。建模组患者根据术后是否发生尿路感染分为发生组(63例)和未发生组(218例)。采用单因素及多因素logistic回归分析建模组患者的临床资料, 并根据膀胱结石患者术后发生尿路感染的影响因素分析结果建立列线图预测模型。绘制校准曲线、受试者工作特征(ROC)曲线对模型的有效性及区分度进行评估。结果单因素logistic分析结果显示, 年龄、糖尿病、术前尿路感染、术前留置导尿管、术前使用抗生素、手术时间、白细胞计数、中性粒细胞百分比、白蛋白、降钙素原均为膀胱结石患者术后发生尿路感染的影响因素(均P<0.05);多因素logistic回归分析结果显示, 年龄≥60岁、糖尿病、术前尿路感染、术前留置导尿管、术前未使用抗生素、手术时间≥60 min均为影响膀胱结石患者术后发生尿路感染的危险因素(均P<0.05);绘制ROC曲线评估模型的区分度, 结果显示, 建模组的ROC曲线下面积为0.892(95%CI:0.850～0.926), 敏感性为71.43%, 特异性为91.28%;验证组的ROC曲线下面积为0.843(95%CI:0.773～0.906), 敏感性为85.19%, 特异性为77.42%。结论年龄≥60岁、糖尿病、术前尿路感染、术前留置导尿管、术前未使用抗生素、手术时间≥60 min为影响膀胱结石患者术后发生尿路感染的危险因素, 建立的列线图预测模型区分度及有效性较好, 能够作为早期筛选膀胱结石患者术后发生尿路感染的工具。

NUMERICAL PREDICTION OF CROSS FLOW IN UNHEATED FURNACE

This paper describes the results of a finite-difference solution for the three-dimensional flow field generated by a rectangular turbulent jet (secondary air) deflected by a main stream (primary air) in an unheated furnace. The essential properties of cross flow are discussed in the case of different shapes of the rectangular orifice, ratios of the secondary air injected velocity to the primary air velocity, and different injection angles. Last, two correlations equations are obtained and the numerical predictions are shown to demonstrate the good agreement with the experimental data.

A quantum switching architecture on the basis of limited nonlocal operation

Quantum information system is fragile to be disturbed by the external environment. Quantum switching architecture is one of the promising schemes for transferring input quantum data to its destination port substituted for fully connected quantum networks. Since at present, interactions between the qubits are limited to a small number of neighboring qubits, one novel approach was extended, and the improved architecture was further demonstrated under limited nonlocal operation. The performance evaluation shows that the whole architecture with improved control module can achieve a time complexity of O（n^2） and will be more feasible for physical realization.

Synergistic removal of nitrogen monoxide by non-thermal plasma and catalyst simultaneously

An experimental system of De-NO with plasma-catalyst（Cu zeolite） was established to investigate the differences between De- NO with plasma-catalyst and De-NO only with plasma, to provide the instruction for selecting appropriate catalyst and operating condition, The characteristics of De-NO with plasma and De-NO with plasma-catalyst were investigated comparatively by experiments. The experimental results show that De-NO with plasma-catalyst has high NO removal rate; Cu zeolite is an effective catalyst which can promote NO removal rate in plasma remarkably; De-NO with plasma-catalyst should be operated at low temperature and the temperature has opposite effects on the function of catalvst and plasma; water vapor and O2 can increase the NO removal rate.

衡水湖是华北平原唯一保持完整湿地生态系统的国家级自然保护区,其生态平衡对区域气候调节和生物多样性维持具有重要作用。然而,当前衡水湖湿地保护区的农业发展面临面源污染积久难消、转型升级缺乏动力、农业法规建设存在欠缺等问题。因此,衡水湖湿地保护区的农业改革应从改变传统农业生产模式、引入PPP模式加快农业转型、完善农业法规建设三方面入手,大力发展绿色低碳农业,实现衡水湖湿地保护区的可持续发展。

Three new eudesmane sesquiterpenes from Artemisia vestita

Three eudesmane sesquiterpene lactones, namely artemivestinolides A-C （1-3）, along with three known 11-epimeric lactones （4-6）, were isolated from the aerial parts ofArtemisia vestim. Their structures were elucidated on the basis of extensive spectroscopic analyses （IR, HR-ESIMS, 1D NMR and 2D NMR）, and the absolute configurations were determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction （with copper radiation）. Furthermore, in an in vitro assay, the three new compounds exhibited a moderate inhibition of the lipopolysaccharide （LPS）-induced nitric： oxide （NO） production in BV-2 microglial cells.

Representative studies concerning the pharmacology of traditional medicine and active herbal products have been summarized over the past 12 *** annual integrative pharmacology review encompasses research articles published during 2019 on the bioactive compounds and extracts used in traditional *** highlighting the pharmacology progress of traditional medicine were specifically introduced,including artemisinin for cancer cell sensibility and induction to ferroptosis,rutin for neuroinflammation suppression,Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma for gut microbiota regulation against obesity,green tea and Pu-erh tea for metabolic syndrome,and marine-derived oligosaccharide(GV-971)from brown algae for ***,novel TCM molecular targets and pharmacological mechanisms were trialed against different human diseases,including cancers,cardiovascular,cerebrovascular diseases,diabetes,and metabolic ***,herb-derived bioactive products have become important treatment alternatives for cancer research in *** and cerebrovascular diseases,together with diabetes and metabolic diseases,are ongoing research areas for traditional ***,inflammation and infectious disease are also attracting more attention by researchers,which might have been influenced by seasonal influenza or HIV/Ebola viral *** traditional medicine investigations are required in neurodegenerative diseases,depression,and mental *** together,the findings of the integrative pharmacology review in 2019 provide a vast number of novel lead compounds or drug candidates for future clinical agent development and also details a novel series of attractive therapeutic targets and molecular mechanisms for human diseases.
