Disappearance of a coronal hole induced by a filament activation

We present a rare observation of direct magnetic interaction between an activating filament and a coronal hole （CH）. The filament was a quiescent one located at the northwest of the CH. It underwent a nonradial activation, during which filament material constantly fell and intruded into the CH. As a result, the CH was clearly destroyed by the intrusion. Brightenings appeared at the boundaries and in the interior of the CH, meanwhile, its west boundaries began to retreat and the area gradually shrank. It is noted that the CH went on shrinking after the end of the intrusion and finally disappeared entirely. Following the filament activation, three coronal dimmings （D1-D3） were formed, among which D1 and D2 persisted throughout the complete disappearance of the CH. The derived coronal magnetic configuration shows that the filament was located below an extended loop system, which obviously linked D1 to D2. By extrapolating this result, our observations imply that the interaction between the filament and the CH involved direct intrusion of the filament material to the CH and the disappearance of the CH might be due to interchange reconnection between the expanding loop system and the CH＇s open field.

Interchange reconnection between an active region and a coronal hole

With data from the Atmospheric Imaging Assembly and the Helioseismic and Magnetic Imager onboard the Solar Dynamics Observatory, we present a mag- netic interaction between an isolated coronal hole （CH） and an emerging active re- gion （AR）. The AR emerged nearby the CH and interacted with it. Bright loops con- stantly formed between them, which led to a continuous retreat of the CH boundaries （CHBs）. Meanwhile, two coronal dimmings respectively appeared at the negative po- laxity of the AR and the east boundary of the bright loops, and the AR was partly disturbed. Loop eruptions followed by a flare occurred in the AR. The interaction was also accompanied by many jets and an arc-shaped brightening that appeared to be observational signatures of magnetic reconnection at the CHBs. By comparing the observations with the derived coronal magnetic configuration, it is suggested that the interaction between the CH and the AR excellently agreed with the model of inter- change reconnection. It appears that our observations provide obvious evidence for interchange reconnection.

Differential effect of three mitogen-activated protein kinases on lipoprotein （a）-induced human mesangial cell proliferation

Background Mesangial hypercellularity is a critical early histopathological finding in human and experimental glomerular diseases. Hyperlipidemia and the glomerular deposition of lipoproteins are commonly associated with mesangial hypercellulafity and play an important pathobiological role in the development of glomerular diseases. The activated cytoplasmic mitogen-activated protein kinase （MAPK）, including mainly extracellular-signal regulated protein kinase （ERK）, c-Jun amino-terminal kinase （JNK）, and p38, has been thought to translocate into the nucleus and activate various transcription factors and protooncogenes associated with cell growth and proliferation. Lipoprotein （a）（Lp（a）） has been shown to stimulate proliferation of mesangial cells, but the events of Lp（a） signaling have not yet been characterized. The purpose of this study was to investigate the signal transduction pathways involved in Lp（a）-induced cell proliferation and provide an evidence for the participation of Lp（a） in intracellular signaling pathways for mesangial cell proliferation. Methods Lp（a） was isolated from a patient who was being treated with low density lipoprotein （LDL）-apheresis by density gradient ultracentrifugation and then chromatography. Human mesangial cells （HMCs） were isolated by the sequential sieving technique and stimulated with Lp（a） in different concentration and time course. The DNA synthesis of the cells was measured by [^3H] thymidine incorporation for detecting the proliferation. The expression of all the three members of MAPK family, including ERK1/ERK2, JNK, and p38, and their phosphorylation were detected by Western blotting. Results Lp（a） could induce a significant dose-dependent proliferation of HMCs. The 3H-TdR incorporation was 1.64±0.31, 1.69±0.48, 3.59±0.68 （P 〈0.01）, 4.14±0.78 （P 〈0.01）, and 4.05±0.55 （P 〈0.01）（103 cpm） at the Lp（a） concentration of 0, 5, 10, 25, and 50ug/ml, respectively. 基于Citespace的粉葛研究进展可视化分析

基于文献计量学方法,通过Citespace软件绘制知识图谱,以“粉葛”和“甘葛藤”为主题词,将采集到的1993~2022年377篇文献作为研究对象,对文献的发文量、作者、发文机构、期刊分布、等进行信息挖掘,并通过关键词聚类图谱、时间图谱、突现词分析等方法进行可视化分析。结果表明,粉葛相关文献年发文量总体呈现上升趋势,2020以来呈现快速增长态势。从事粉葛研究的主要机构包括江西中医药大学、广西农业科学院、广西大学等,合作单位和合作团队呈现明显的“地缘”和“学缘”特征。目前,粉葛相关文献40%发表在核心期刊上,其中,中医药类和食品加工类期刊收录的粉葛相关文献较多。研究内容从理论走向实践,研究热点从粉葛品质鉴定、粉葛栽培技术转向粉葛生药学、产业经济调研等;目前,淀粉、产量、多糖等成为突现关键词;关键词时区图结果显示葛根素、总黄酮、HPLC等关键词贯穿整个粉葛研究阶段,成为该领域的研究基石,反应了粉葛研究存在的一定问题。

The Changhsingian Foraminiferal Fauna of the Meishan D Section, Zhejiang, China, and their Ecostratigraphic Implications

Samples were collected continuously and systematically from Beds 2 to 30 of the Meishan D section, and nearly 4,000 foraminiferal specimens were recognized. In total, 72 species （partially including undetermined species and conformis species） in 34 genera of foraminifers were identified. Twelve foraminiferal community zones were established from Beds 2 to 27 based on the abundance, dominance, diversity, and equitability of the foraminiferal fauna and a functional morphological analysis of the dominant and characteristic species. The habitat type indicated by each community zone and the sedimentary features were used to determine the paleo-water depths and the relative changes in sea level. We generated curves of both the habitat type and the hydrodynamic conditions, which together indicate the relative changes in the paleo-water depth and the substrate features in the studied area during the Changhsingian. This study discusses the possible relationship between the foraminiferal community zones and the sea-level changes based on a statistical analysis of the foraminiferal community zones.

Magnetostratigraphy and Anisotropy of Magnetic Susceptibility of the Lulehe Formation in the Northeastern Qaidam Basin

The timing of onset of deposition of the Lulehe Formation is a significant factor in understanding the genesis of the Qaidam basin and the evolution of the Tibetan Plateau. Here, we describe a detailed magnetostratigraphic and magnetic fabric study of the middle and lower parts of the Lulehe Formation. A total of 234 samples were collected from 117 sites throughout a thickness of almost 460 m of fluvial and lacustrine deposits at the Xitieshan section in the northeastern Qaidam basin. Out of these sites, 94 sites yielded well-defined characteristic remanent magnetization components by stepwise thermal demagnetization and were used to establish the magnetostratigraphy of the studied section. Based on correlation with the geomagnetic polarity timescale, the studied section spans the period from 53.8 Ma to 50.7 Ma. Our results show a three-fold decrease in sedimentation rates as well as marked change in facies from braided river to delta and shore-shallow lake around 52.6 Ma, which suggests tectonic uplift of the northeastern Qaidam basin margin ridge was rapid at the onset of formation of the Qaidam basin and subsequently weakened after 52.6 Ma. The anisotropy of magnetic susceptibility results indicate that tectonic compression stress had reached the northeastern Tibetan Plateau by the early stages of Indo-Eurasian plate collision and that the direction of stress in the study area was NE-SW. Furthermore, a weakening of tectonic compression stress around 52.6 Ma is consistent with sedimentary records. The age of initial deposition of the Qaidam basin （around 53.8 Ma） was almost synchronous with that of the Qiangtang, Hoh Xil, Xining, and Lanzhou basins, which implies that stress was transferred rapidly through the Tibetan Plateau during or immediately after the onset of Indo-Eurasian collision.
