Aerodynamic Sound Radiated from Two-Dimensional Airfoil with Local Porous Material

In the present paper, the attention is focused on the effect of local porous material on aerodynamic sound radiated from two-dimensional airfoil. We measured the aerodynamic sound radiated from the airfoil with porous material, tripping wire and porous plate which are mounted locally on the surface of the airfoils near the leading edge. At the normal airfoil, discrete frequency noise is clearly observed at small attack angle. However, it is clear that its noise generated from the airfoil decreased with the local porous material on the surface of pressure side of the airfoil. The porous material is effective to reduce this noise compared with the others. And the sound absorbing coefficient and the air permeability were measured for test porous material. The sound absorbing coefficient increased at the high frequency band, and the air permeability became small for porous materials. As the attack angle increased, the discrete frequency noise was not generated from the normal airfoil. The broadband noises were almost same for all test airfoils.

Great advances in screening have lowered the death rate from cervical cancer in the advanced countries. The major advances in cervical cancer screening include the Papanicolaou (Pap) test and liquid-based cytology (LBC). In this study, we aimed to use cell remnants from LBC specimens from uterine cervix and endometrium, aspirates from breast and thyroid tumors, and liquid samples (ascites, pleural effusion, and urine). Cell blocks made from cell remnants of LBC specimens were immunohistochemically or immunocytochemically stained for several biomarkers including certain tumor markers such together with hematoxylin and eosin staining for accurate diagnosis of malignancies in different samples. The findings from the cell blocks stained with these biomarkers combined with those from Pap stain led to easily diagnosis of the presence or absence of malignancies. Our findings suggest the utility of LBC and cell blocks from cell remnants in cytologic diagnosis in certain specimens.

利用急冷固法获得柱状Al70.1 Ni24 Co5.9单准晶,并用X线衍射仪测定Al70.1 Ni24 Co5.9准晶的衍射强度。结果表明,在Al70.1 Ni24 Co5.9的准周期面内H方向和K方向都出现了强衍射峰和弱衍射峰。Al70.1 Ni24 Co5.9准晶经过热处理后,准点阵常数随着热处理温度降低而增大,在600和700℃之间准点阵常数将不发生变化,说明了热处理温度对准晶相变的影响,确定了Al70.1Ni24Co5.9准晶结构的稳定性。

Risk factors for local recurrence and appropriate surveillance interval after endoscopic resection

BACKGROUND Risk factors for local recurrence after polypectomy, endoscopic mucosal resection(EMR), and endoscopic submucosal dissection(ESD) have not been ***, the appropriate interval for endoscopic surveillance of colorectal tumors at high-risk of local recurrence has not been *** To clarify the clinicopathological characteristics of recurrent lesions after endoscopic colorectal tumor resection and determine the appropriate *** Three hundred and sixty patients(1412 colorectal tumors) who underwent polypectomy, EMR, or ESD and received endoscopic surveillance subsequently for more than one year to detect local recurrence were enrolled in this study. The clinicopathological factors associated with local recurrence were determined via univariate and multivariate *** Local recurrence was observed in 31 of 360(8.6%) patients [31 of 1412(2.2%)lesions] after colorectal tumor resection. Piecemeal resection, tumor size of more than 2 cm, and the presence of villous components were associated with colorectal tumor recurrence after endoscopic resection. Of these three factors, the piecemeal resection procedure was identified as an independent risk factor for recurrence. Colorectal tumors resected into more than five pieces were associated with a high risk of recurrence since the average period from resection torecurrence in these cases was approximately 3 mo. The period to recurrence in cases resected into more than 5 pieces was much shorter than that in those resected into less than 4 pieces(3.8 ± 1.9 mo vs 7.9 ± 5.0 mo, P < 0.05).CONCLUSION Local recurrence of endoscopically treated colorectal tumors depends upon the outcome of first endoscopic procedure. Piecemeal resection was the only significant risk factor associated with local recurrence after endoscopic resection.

The expression of cytosolic phospholipase A2 (cPLA2) expression is up-regulated in animal model of ALS and in patients with familial amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (fALS). Inhibition of cyclooxygenase 2 (COX2), which is a downstream enzyme of cPLA2, ameliorates the impairment of motor function in the ALS model mice. Therefore, the arachidonic acid cascade, including the cPLA2-COX2 pathway, is an important therapeutic target of ALS. The current study was designed to investigate the potential of AK106-001616, an inhibitor of cPLA2, in protection of motor neuron cell death induced by mutant superoxide dismutase (SOD1G93A). AK106-001616 (1 - 10 μM) protected NSC34 cells (mouse motor neuron like cells) against SOD1G93A-induced motor neuron cell death. Furthermore, aspirin, an inhibitor of COX1/2, reduced the SOD1G93A-induced motor neuron cell death at a concentration that inhibited COX2. Celecoxib, a selective COX2 inhibitor, also reduced the SOD1G93A-induced motor neuron cell death. These results suggest that the arachidonic acid cascade is important for SOD1G93A-induced motor neuron cell death and AK106-001616 has a potent neuroprotective effect against it. AK106-001616 may be a useful therapeutic agent against SOD1G93A-induced ALS.

Fabrication of Sn Coatings on Alumina Balls by Mechanical Coating Technique and Relevant Process Analysis

Sn coatings were fabricated by mechanical coating technique for the first time. The coatings were characterized by XRD and SEM, among others. The SEM showed that the coatings had an irregular and uneven morphology. The influence of the rotation speed of planetary ball mill on the evolution and formation of the coatings was also investigated. The results indicated that continuous Sn coatings can be formed under a moderate rotation speed. In other words, the coatings cannot be formed when rotation speed was too high or too low. The evolution of the coatings was examined and discussed. The results showed that it followed the universal evolution law of metal coatings which included four stages. However, the exfoliation of the coatings was not seen even the milling time reached 30 h.

We herein evaluate the use of a chemical heat pump (CHP) for upgrading waste heat. CaCl2 was used in the system of CHP. We evaluated the heat storage and heat releasing of CHP, and confirmed the practicality from the experimental results. The reactor module employed was an aluminum plate-tube heat exchanger with corrugated fins, and the CaCl2 powder was in the form of a packed bed. Heat storage operation and heat dissipation operation are performed at the same time and supplied to the heat demand destination. At this time, an environmental heat source can be used during the heat radiation operation, and the heat output can release more heat than the heat input during heat storage. The heat discharging and charging characteristics of the reactor module were evaluated experimentally. The coefficient of performance (COP) was calculated for the heat upgrading cycle, and the heat output in the system was determined. A COP of 1.42 and output of 650 W/L, based on the heat exchanger volume, were obtained using a 600 s change time for the heat pump.

AIM:To investigate the usefulness of magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography (MRCP) and the need for endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) in cases of suspected spontaneous passage of stones into the common bile ***:Thirty-six patients with gallbladder stones were clinically suspected of spontaneous passage of stones into the common bile duct because they presented with clinical symptoms such as abdominal pain and fever,and showed signs of inflammatory reaction and marked rise of hepatobiliary *** symptoms resolved and they showed normalized values of blood biochemical parameters after conservative treatment without evidence of stones in the common bile duct on *** these patients were subjected to ERCP within 3 d of MRCP to check for the presence of ***:No stones were detected by ERCP in any patient,confi rming the results of ***:When clinical symptoms improve,blood biochemical parameters have normalized,and MRCP shows there are no stones in the common bile duct,it can be considered the stone has spontaneously passed and thus ERCP is not necessary.

AIM:The purpose of the present study was to examine the effects of microiontophoretically-applied opioid pep-tides on Purkinje cell of the cerebellum. METHODS: The effects of microiontophoretically-applied morphine, leucine-enkephalin (Leu-Enk),methionine-enkephalin (Met-Enk), and dynorphin 1-13 (Dyn) on the spontaneous discharge of Purkinje cells in the cerebellum of the anesthetized cat were ***:Microion-tophoretic applications of Leu-Enk and morphine produced inhibitory and excitatory responses, respectively in Purkinje *** of both morphine and Leu-Enk induced dose-dependent responses. The excitatory responses were antagonized by naloxone, whereas the inhibitory responses were not. Bicuculline,a GABA-A antagonist, completely abolished both the Leu-Enk- and morphine-induced-inhibitory *** application of Met-Enk and dyn produced inhibitory responses only.
