Target Entities of Total Quality Management Based on the New TQM and Three-Dimensional Unification Value Models

In recent years, the method of TQM (Total Quality Management) is widely recognized. However, contents of target entities for assessment are various, and it is very difficult to define the whole scope of TQM. On the other hand, it is very important to define the whole target entities of quality management about the TQM because lack of important target entities may cause significant risk of loss in future. Furthermore, target entities of TQM should correspond to needs and priority of an objective requirement and that should be based on the consideration of basic principle of quality management. In the previous study, we have proposed the “framework of new TQM” of assessment for a total quality management of organizations based on the original concept of “TQM matrix”. On the other hand, we have proposed the view point of “Three-Dimensional Unification Value Models” for an evaluation of system product. Therefore, in this paper, we propose the target entities of whole assessment of quality management of organization totally based on the consideration of “New TQM framework” and the view point of “Three-Dimensional Unification Value Models”. Also, this paper proposes the result of verification based on the result of comparison between proposed target entities of assessment and American Malcolm Baldrige Prize for Performance Excellence.

The success of a software development project requires the early objective determination of the project’s correctness or incorrectness and the identification of the most effective solution for project management. However, few studies have been conducted on the reliable quantitative early judgment of correctness or incorrectness. In recent years, the collection and accumulation of actual attribute data from Japanese domestic software development projects have been conducted by the Software Engineering Centre of the Information-Technology Promotion Agency of Japan. In a previous article, we proposed a precise definition of project correctness or incorrectness and identified the important factors in successful projects;we also proposed a quantitative decision-making method for judging project correctness or incorrectness objectively and quantitatively on the basis of discriminant analysis using project completion attribute data. On the basis of the previous results, we propose a quantitative decision-making technique for the early judging of project correctness or incorrectness based on the attribute data of design stage as early stage of development.

When introduce a distribution system, it is necessary performing an assessment of system quality generally to evaluate the characteristic of system from candidates targeted product for the purchase and evaluating the superiority and inferiority. The general quality assessment for the system is performed by the integration test based on the quality requirements of the customer till now. But, it is very difficult to perform the integration test completely, because the system testing may depend on the individual person’s high skill and experiences. Recently, the method of the quantitative quality requirements and evaluation based on the ISO/IEC9126 quality model is widely recognized for the purpose of a quality evaluation and improvement of the system product. In the precedent study, I have performed the confirmation of the method of evaluation for the system quality from the viewpoint of six quality characteristics included in the quality model defined in ISO/IEC9126, and the effectiveness of whose quality model could have confirmed quantitatively and statistically. However, it is very difficult to assess superiority and inferiority of the system totally even if evaluating the quality of the distribution system from the viewpoint of six quality characteristics for a customer individually. Therefore, if we could display total quality of the target system visually, we could evaluate and compare the total quality of system objectively and intuitively. Based on these assumptions, in this paper, we propose the concept and effectiveness of the “Three Dimensional Integrated Value Model” based on the result of precedent study about six quality characteristics.

Generally, for quality improvement of an organization management, TQM (Total Quality Management) is used worldwide and recognized. However, contents of activity are various, and it is difficult for organization to define the whole scope of TQM. It is very important that the activity theme about the TQM is based on the consideration of the needs and priority from the objective requirement, which should correspond to the basic consideration of quality management. If we have selected the wrong theme, and missed understanding about importance and priority of target for TQM, it may cause a significant risk in the organization management. For example, the company which got a high evaluation about the quality of management has poor management and disgraceful affair after several years, and it is a case reaching the bankruptcy. We worked on a study for improvement of technique for quality requirement and evaluation of system for many years, and have participated in the development of international standard for supporting the quality requirements and evaluation of system in ISO/IECJTC1/SC7. The organization having a specific purpose is a kind of system. It is thought that evaluation technique of the system quality is adaptive for a quality evaluation of the organization management. Therefore, this study suggests the new framework of TQM from the view point of the general framework of management defined in ISO/IEC25040 and TQM matrix. Furthermore, this paper presents the result of comparison between proposed action theme derived from a framework of new TQM and the example of existing TQM, and reports an inspection result of the effectiveness.

The profitability of the system product is decided on the sales of the product. Furthermore, a customer satisfaction for products quality and a price have a big influence on the sales of the product. It spends limited financial resources effectively to raise the profitability of the system product, and it is necessary to realize the high quality product correspond to the customer needs as much as possible. There may be close relationship between cost of a product and an expense to implement the individual inherent attribute of system product. For the purpose of improvement of the customer satisfaction for quality of system product, the method of quantitative quality requirement and evaluation based on the ISO/IEC9126 quality model that includes six quality characteristics is widely recognized. However, independency among each quality characteristic has not been sure and the suitability of method for quality requirement of system product by using these six quality characteristics could not certified statistically. In the precedent study, introduced the requirements definition method for the quality of system product based on the system quality model defined in ISO/IEC9126 and proposed the effectiveness of it statistically. This study have measured the customer satisfaction for the system quality from the viewpoint of six quality characteristics quantitatively and confirmed the effectiveness of the technique to evaluate. In this study, we have confirmed the relationship between inherent attributes of the product and quantitative result of a measured value of total customer satisfaction from the view point of six quality characteristics statistically. For a purpose of suitable system product development and acquisition successfully, it is extremely important to specify the quality requirement for target system during system design phase, and developing or selecting a most suitable product finally from among the alternative candidate products. However, the quality requirements analysis is a very difficult matter because it is non-formulaic and demands much of product customer’s technical perceptiveness. Traditionally, analysis of quality requirements of a product has been conducted through questionnaires or interviews with customers based on survey investigator’s personal experience. This kind of lack of structure and incompleteness in the traditional approach introduced missing requirements and errors in prioritizing requirements to implement in the requirement analysis of a product. On the other hand, we have been working on developing the techniques (SQuaRE) for quality requirements and evaluation for system and software product for a long time in ISO/IECJTC1/SC7WG 6. For the purpose of specify the quality requirement of system product, the method of quantitative quality requirement definitions based on ISO/IEC9126 [1] quality model that includes six characteristics is widely recognized. However, independency among each quality characteristic is not sure and the suitability of method by using these six quality characteristics for quality requirement is not certified statistically. In this paper, we propose the concept of quality requirements definition method based on the SQuaRE quality models define in ISO/IEC25030 [2,3]. Also, this paper proposes the result of verification about effectiveness of quantitative quality requirement definition approach from the view point of six quality characteristics described in ISO/IEC9126.

Analysis of Influence of Price to Customer Satisfaction Based on the Prediction Models

For the purpose of improvement of the sales, confirming the influence of price to the sales and customer satisfaction of the product is important. The most suitable price should be determined from the view point of customers, and it is extremely important to implement a high quality product corresponding to the real need of customers. In the precedent study, I have introduced the requirements definition method for the quality of system product based on the system quality model defined in ISO/IEC9126 and proposed the effectiveness of it statistically. In the previous study, I have also confirmed the relationship between inherent attributes of the product and quantitative result of the measured value of total customer satisfaction from the view point of six quality characteristics statistically. I performed the development of the prediction model to estimate the total customer satisfaction for the system product from the view point of inherent attribute of the product. And, I have proposed the effectiveness of application of the estimated prediction model and possibility of improvement of the total customer satisfaction of a system product. Based on the result of previous study, in this paper, I propose the result of investigation of influence of price to customer satisfaction, and the possibility of application of estimated prediction model for improvement of the total customer satisfaction of system product based on the price of product. Statistical Analysis of Process Monitoring Data for Software Process Improvement and Its Application

Software projects influenced by many human factors generate various risks. In order to develop highly quality software, it is important to respond to these risks reasonably and promptly. In addition, it is not easy for project managers to deal with these risks completely. Therefore, it is essential to manage the process quality by promoting activities of process monitoring and design quality assessment. In this paper, we discuss statistical data analysis for actual project management activities in process monitoring and design quality assessment, and analyze the effects for these software process improvement quantitatively by applying the methods of multivariate analysis. Then, we show how process factors affect the management measures of QCD (Quality, Cost, Delivery) by applying the multiple regression analyses to observed process monitoring data. Further, we quantitatively evaluate the effect by performing design quality assessment based on the principal component analysis and the factor analysis. As a result of analysis, we show that the design quality assessment activities are so effective for software process improvement. Further, based on the result of quantitative project assessment, we discuss the usefulness of process monitoring progress assessment by using a software reliability growth model. This result may enable us to give a useful quantitative measure of product release determination.

BACKGROUND The selection of endoscopic treatments for superficial non-ampullary duodenal epithelial tumors(SNADETs)is *** To compare the efficacy and safety of endoscopic mucosal resection(EMR)and endoscopic submucosal dissection(ESD)for *** We retrospectively analyzed the data of patients with SNADETs from a database of endoscopic treatment for SNADETs,which included eight hospitals in Fukuoka,Japan,between April 2001 and October 2017.A total of 142 patients with SNADETs treated with EMR or ESD were *** score matching was performed to adjust for the differences in the patient characteristics between the two *** analyzed the treatment outcomes,including the rates of en bloc/complete resection,procedure time,adverse event rate,hospital stay,and local or metastatic *** Twenty-eight pairs of patients were *** characteristics of patients between the two groups were similar after *** EMR group had a significantly shorter procedure time and hospital stay than those of the ESD group[median procedure time(interquartile range):6(3-10.75)min vs 87.5(68.5-136.5)min,P<0.001,hospital stay:8(6-10.75)d vs 11(8.25-14.75)d,P=0.006].Other outcomes were not significantly different between the two groups(en bloc resection rate:82.1%vs 92.9%,P=0.42;complete resection rate:71.4%vs 89.3%,P=0.18;and adverse event rate:3.6%vs 17.9%,P=0.19,local recurrence rate:3.6%vs 0%,P=1;metastatic recurrence rate:0%in both).Only one patient in the ESD group underwent emergency surgery owing to intraoperative *** EMR has significantly shorter procedure time and hospital stay than ESD,and provides acceptable curability and safety compared to ***,EMR for SNADETs is associated with lower medical costs.
