Since nanoparticle synthesis via chemical and physical methods is expensive and includes hazardous chemicals,biosynthesis has emerged as an environmentally friendly,clean and viable *** present study reports the synthesis of selenium nanoparticles(SeNPs)using Citricoccus sp..For the production of SeNPs,the influence of some parameters(time,pH,temperature and stirring rate)was *** synthesis conditions were found as pH 8,24 h reaction time,37℃ and 150 *** particles were spherical and were 104.46±50.82 nm with a zeta potential of–20.43±0.41 ***,the effects of the nanoparticles on oxidative stress biomarkers,hydrogen peroxide(H_(2)O_(2)),malondialdehyde(MDA),chlorophyll(a+b)and growth rate,subsequent to UV-C irradiation on Chlorella vulgaris were *** culture contains nanoparticle and UV-C exposed,the amount of H_(2)O_(2) and MDA decreased on the 1st,3rd and 7th days following UV exposure compared to UV-applied group,while optical density and cell density increased,the amount of chlorophyll(a+b)changes were statistically ***,it has been shown that the synthesized SeNPs alleviated the adverse effects of UV stress in microalgae.

The mechanical and tribological properties of epoxy composites modified with microencapsulated wax lubricant and multi-walled carbon nanotubes(MWCNTs)were *** increased soft microcapsules embedded in the epoxy matrices were responsible for the reduced micro-hardness and Young’s modulus of the epoxy *** was found that the friction of the epoxy composites greatly decreased with increased microcapsule content due to combined lubricating effects of the both wax lubricant and *** a result,the wear of the epoxy composites apparently decreased with increased microcapsule content.

AIM: To evaluate the changes in higher order aberrations(HOAs) after implantable collamer lens(ICL;Staar Surgical, Nidau, Switzerland) implantation. METHODS: Totally 30 eyes of 18 patients with myopia were included in this study with an average age of 25.77y(min: 21, max: 40). Refraction, uncorrected distance visual acuity(UDVA), corrected distance visual acuity(CDVA), HOAs(entire, corneal and internal) were evaluated preoperatively and three months postoperatively. Ocular aberrations were measured by using iT race(Tracey Technology, Houston, Texas, USA). SPSS(IBM Corp. Released 2013. IBM SPSS Statistics for Windows, Version 22.0. Armonk, NY: IBM Corp) was used for the statistical analysis and the interpretation of the data. P values of less than 0.05 were considered statistically significant. RESULTS: The preoperative mean spherical power was -9.01 D(min:-5.00, max:-13.00) and the mean cylindrical error was -2.40 D(min:-0.50, max:-4.75). The postoperative mean residual spherical power was -0.73 D(min:-0.20, max:-1.75) and the mean cylindrical error was -0.89 D(min:-0.18, max:-2.09). Analyses were made on root mean square(RMS) values of total HOAs(tH OAs), spherical aberration, coma and trefoil as entire, corneal and internal components. The differences in entire t HOAs and in internal t HOAs were significant. There was no significant change found in spherical aberrations. The differences in entire coma and in internal coma were significant. There was no significant change found in corneal coma. With respect to trefoil, the only significant difference was in internal trefoil. CONCLUSION: The ICL implantation corrects the refractive error successfully and changes entire and internal HOAs of the eye.

Background:Adenotonsillar hypertrophy can produce cardiopulmonary disease in ***,it is unclear whether adenotonsillar hypertrophy causes *** study evaluated carotid intimamedia thickness and carotid arterial stiffness in children with adenotonsillar ***:The study included 40 children with adenotonsillar hypertrophy(age:5-10 years)and 36 healthy children with similar age and body mass *** blood pressure,diastolic blood pressure,and pulse pressure were measured in all *** intima-media thickness,carotid arterial systolic diameter,and carotid arterial diastolic diameter were measured using a high-resolution ultrasound *** on these measurements,carotid arterial strain,carotid artery distensibility,beta stiffness index,and elasticity modulus were ***:Carotid intima-media thickness was greater in children with adenotonsillar hypertrophy(0.36±0.05 mm vs.0.34±0.04 mm,P=0.02)compared to healthy *** stiffness index(3.01±1.22 vs.2.98±0.98,P=0.85),elasticity modulus(231.39±99.23 vs.226.46±83.20,P=0.88),carotid arterial strain(0.17±0.06 vs.0.17±0.04,P=0.95),and carotid artery distensibility(13.14±3.88 vs.12.92±3.84,P=0.75)were similar between children with adenotonsillar hypertrophy and the healthy ***:The present study revealed increased carotid intima-media thickness in children with adenotonsillar *** risk of subclinical atherosclerosis may be higher in children with adenotonsillar hypertrophy.

Segmented trust assessment in autonomous vehicles via eye-tracking

Previous studies have identified trust as one of the key factors in the technology acceptance of autonomousvehicles. As these studies mostly investigated the population in general, little is known about segment-specific ***, the widely used survey methods are less able to capture the deeper forms of trust—which neuroscientificmethods are much better suited to capture. The main objective of our research is to study trust as one of the key factors oftechnology acceptance related to autonomous vehicles by using neuroscientific methods for specific consumer ***-time eye-tracking tests were applied to a sample of 113 participants, combined with a posttest self-report. The testswere carried out under laboratory conditions during which our subjects watched videos recorded with the internal camerasof autonomous vehicles. Based on the fixation count, total fixation duration, and pupil dilation, we empirically verified thatthe trust level of all five identified segments is relatively low, while the trust level of the “traditional rejecting” segment is thelowest. An increase in trust level can be shown if the subjects receive extra information about the journey. Anotherimportant finding is that the self-reported trust level is not always congruent with the eye-tracking analysis results;therefore,combined approaches can lead to greater measurement validity.

The composite tumors of the liver are very rare,including the coexistence of HCC(hepatocellular carcinoma)with NEC(neuroendocrine carcinoma).The rare occurrence of these tumors necessitates more reported cases in order to fully understand their clinical characteristics,behaviors and *** is described an incidental collision tumor of HCC-NEC,along with a review of the literature focusing on their clinicopathological findings and *** tumor presented here was found incidentally in the hepatectomy specimen of a 56-yearold man who had undergone liver transplantation for rapidly progressive liver failure because of alcoholic hepatitis and *** and laboratory examinations did not demonstrate tumor-related *** macroscopic examination,two sharply defined and distinctive areas(1.7 cm and 0.6 cm dimension respectively)were detected among the cirrhotic *** characteristic histopathological features and immunohistochemical findings allowed a diagnosis of HCCNEC to be *** was no evidence of recurrence and metastasis after 10months following *** present case and review revealed that these tumors are frequently found in older ages and *** serum markers are valuable in the discrimination of malignant tumors,their absence cannot completely rule out composite *** requires a comprehensive histopathological evaluation together with *** NEC component might influence the treatment strategy and eventually the outcome of the *** conclusion,the rare occurrence of HCC-NEC and the lack of diagnostic clinical signs and symptoms do not exclude their consideration in the differential diagnosis of liver tumors,especially in patients with the chronic liver disease.

AIM: To investigate the effect of 5-aminosalicylic acid (5-ASA) suppositories on rectal band ligation-induced pain. METHODS: Sixty patients were randomized into two treatment groups. RESULTS: Our results showed that there was no difference between 5-ASA suppository group and the control group for pain control. CONCLUSION: 5-ASA may be an alternative treatment for hemorrhoids; however, it does not affect the rectal band ligation-induced pain.
