HLA polymorphism of the Zhuang population reflects the common HLA characteristics among Zhuang-Dong language-speaking populations

A study of the human leukocyte antigen （HLA） genetic characteristics in the Zhuang, the largest ethnic population in China, would provide insight into Zhuang history and give a useful tool for disease associations, transplantation, and anthropology. In the present study, we report the comprehensive HLA-A, HLA-B, HLA-C, and HLA-DRB1 alleles and haplotypes in the Zhuang population of southern China for the first time. A total of 13 HLA-A, 24 HLA-B, 22 HLA-C, and 18 HLA-DRB1 were identified in 104 Zhuang individuals. The frequencies of HLA-A＊11：01, A^＊02：07, A^＊24：02, A^＊02：03, and A^＊33：03 on A loci, B^＊15：02, B^＊58：01, B^＊46：01, and B^＊13：01 on B loci, C^＊03：04, C^＊08：01, C^＊01：02, C^＊03：02, and C^＊07：02 on C loci, and DRBl＊15：01, DRBl^＊16：02, DRB1^＊14：01, DRBl^＊15：02, and DRBI^＊03：01 on the DRB1 loci were 〉10%. The A^＊33：03-C^＊03：02-B^＊58：01-DRBl^＊03：01 and A^＊02：07-C^＊01：02- B^＊46：01-DRB1^＊14：01 haplotypes were predominant in the Zhuang. The phylogenetic tree, as well as the analysis of haplotypes, suggested that the Zhuang are genetically similar to southern Chinese populations, especially the Zhuang-Dong language-speaking populations, such as the Bouyei, Dai, and Maonan. Even though the Zhuang and southern Chinese populations shared common alleles and haplotypes, the Zhuang has maintained its unique genetic characteristics.

应用聚合酶链反应—微孔板杂交 (PolymeraseChainReactionandMicrotitrePlateHybridization ,PCR MPH)的方法对云南 12 9个无亲缘关系的汉族样品进行了HLA DRB1的遗传多态性分析 ,对MPH初分出的DRB1 15组的样品进行了单链构象多态 (Single StrandConformationPolymorphism ,SSCP)检测。共发现 36种等位基因 ,其中等位基因频率大于 0 0 5的有DRB1 15 0 1(0 12 4 0 ) ,DRB1 0 90 12 (0 0 96 9) ,DRB1 0 80 32 (0 0 930 ) ,DRB1 12 0 2(0 0 891) ,DRB1 12 0 1(0 0 814 ) ,DRB1 14 0 1(0 0 775 ) ,DRB1 0 70 1(0 0 6 2 0 )。云南汉族HLA DRB1等位基因频率与中国其他 9个汉族群体进行 χ2 检验 ,结果显示与云南汉族比较 χ2 >10的有西安汉族 (DR8,χ2 =13 9712 )、上海汉族 (DR4 ,χ2 =10 16 32 )、广东汉族 (DR9,χ2 =12 6 12 1)和南京汉族 (DR4 ,χ2 =10 5 796 )。从遗传距离分析发现 ,在 9个国内汉族群体中云南汉族与辽宁汉族有最近的距离 (0 0 5 4 1) ,而与广东汉族最远 (0 185 1)。云南汉族在构成上可能与辽宁汉族更为接近 ,尽管地处南方 ,但已不属典型的南方汉族。这也可能因云南汉族与当地的少数民族存在基因交流。

This study aimed to identify the reasons for transferring athletes to local medical facilities during the Olympic and Paralympic *** on 567 injuries and other illnesses of athletes treated at the on-site clinics were collected from the Tokyo 2020 Organizing *** these,84 athletes who required outpatient care during the Games were registered for this *** the Olympic and Paralympic Games,66(8.3/1000)and 18(7.2/1000)athletes,respectively,consulted external medical *** the Olympic Games,the reasons for these visits included 48 cases(72.7%)of injuries,13(19.7%)cases of illnesses,and 5(7.6%)cases of heat stroke illness(HSI).Of these patients,56(84.9%)were treated as outpatients and 10(15.1%)were hospitalized,while three of these patients required hospitalization for>7 *** the other hand,in the Paralympics Games,there were 7(38.8%)cases of injuries,9(50.0%)other illnesses,1(5.6%)case of HSI,and 1(5.6%)other cases,of which 11(61.1%)were treated as outpatients and 7(38.9%)were hospitalized,but none was hospitalized for>7 *** accounted for 70%of the total cases at the 2021 Olympic Games,but only three(0.05%)were severe cases that required hospitalization for more than 1 *** contrast,in the Paralympic Games,other illnesses accounted for approximately half of the total *** study provides details on the extent of injuries and other illnesses that were transferred to outside facilities,which has not been documented in previous games.

In this article, studies on the magnetoelectric effects of multiferroic materials in high magnetic fields, particularly pulsed magnetic fields, are discussed and results for some representative ma- terials are presented. In the discussions on representative materials, the relationship between the crystallographic symmetry and the linear magnetoelectric effect in Cr203 is introduced. Then dras- tic changes in polarization caused by magnetic transitions are discussed through a case study of manganites with a perovskite4ype structure. In addition, high field studies on the magnetoelectric effects in BiFeO3, which is an exceptional multiferroic material, are presented and discussed in the framework of the Landau-Ginzburg theory.

Poor corrosion resistance is a serious drawback of Mg alloys, restricting their practical applications. Coating is one of the effective techniques for improvement in the poor corrosion resistance. In this paper, the coating processes for Mg alloys so far developed are reviewed. A depressed lesion was found at a gastric angle of 76-yearold Japanese woman by esophagogastroduodenoscopy. Four years prior, she was diagnosed with a Helicobacter pylori infection but no eradication was performed. The pathological diagnosis of biopsy specimens was signet-ring cell carcinoma. Endoscopic submucosal dissection(ESD) was performed. Histopathological examination of the ESD specimen revealed proliferation of well-differentiated tubular adenocarcinoma mimicking fundic gland cells at the deep layer of the lamina propria mucosae. These tumor cells expressed focally pepsinogen-Ⅰ, diffusely MUC6, and scattered H^+/K^+ ATPase according to immunohistochemistry. Therefore, we diagnosed this tumor as gastric adenocarcinoma of fundic gland type(GA-FG). Adjacent to the GA-FG, proliferation of signet-ring cell carcinoma which diffusely expressed MUC 2 and MUC 5AC was observed. Intestinal metaplasia was focally observed in the surrounding mucosa of the signet-ring cell carcinoma. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first case report of GA-FG with a signet-ring cell carcinoma component. The origin of signet-ring cell carcinoma, i.e., whether it accidentally arose from a non-neoplastic mucosa and coexisted with the GA-FG or dedifferentiated from the GA-FG is unclear at present. We expect the accumulation of similar cases and further analysis to clarify this issue.

Ultrahigh Resolution Fiber-Optic Quasi-Static Strain Sensors for Geophysical Research

A review of our recent work on ultrahigh resolution optical fiber sensors in the quasi-static region is presented, and their applications in crustal deformation measurement are introduced. Geophysical research such as studies on earthquake and volcano requires monitoring the earth＇s crustal deformation continuously with a strain resolution on the order of nano-strains （ne） in static to low frequency region. Optical fiber sensors are very attractive due to their unique advantages such as low cost, small size, and easy deployment. However, the resolution of conventional optical fiber strain sensors is far from satisfactory in the quasi-static domain. In this paper, several types of recently developed fiber-optic sensors with ultrahigh resolution in the quasi-static domain are introduced, including a fiber Bragg grating （FBG） sensor interrogated with a narrow linewidth tunable laser, an FBG based fiber Fabry-Perot interferometer （FFPI） sensor by using a phase modulation technique, and an FFPI sensor with a sideband interrogation technique. Quantificational analyses and field experimental results demonstrated that the FBG sensor can provide nano-order strain resolution. The sub-nano strain resolution was also achieved by the FFPI sensors in laboratory. Above achievements provide the basis to develop powerful fiber-optic tools for geophysical research on crustal deformation monitoring.

A novel iodonium-ylide compound 2 that appends a trifluoromethylthio （SCF3） group is disclosed as a new, shelf-stable electrophilic trifluoromethylation reagent. Unlike known shelf-stable electrophilic trifluoromethylation reagents, 2 has a stable SCF3 group which is activated by appending iodonium ylide under copper catalysis via sul- fonium ylide to generate a cationic trifluoromethyl （CF3） species. Reagent 2 was found to be an efficient electro- philic trifluoromethylation reagent for a wide range of silyl enol ethers 3 under copper catalysis. Cyclic and acyclic a-trifiuoromethyl ketones 4 were obtained by reagent 2 in moderate to good yields. On the other hand, a difluoro- methylthio analogue 5 did not affect intermolecular transfer difluoromethylation to substrates. Instead, intramolecu- lar 1,4-migration proceeded similar to the Stevens rearrangement to provide 6 in 21% yield, independent of the presence of nucleophiles 3.

Fabrication of Al-Coated Mg-Li Alloy Sheet and Investigation of Its Properties

An Al-coated Mg-8 mass% Li alloy rectangular bar was fabricated by hot extrusion, and then, it was hot-rolled into a thin sheet. The Al coating was uniform in thickness and had good bonding with the substrate during all the processing. This Alcoated Mg–Li alloy exhibited a good corrosion resistance in a 0.5 mass% HCl aqueous solution. No intermetallic compound was observed at the Al/Mg–Li interface after the extrusion and the rolling. The Al-coated Mg–Li alloy sheet exhibited an elongation to fracture of 35% at room temperature at a strain rate of 0.001 s(-1)without any debonding between the coating and the substrate. When tensile tested at 573 K at 0.001 s(-1)in the air, the Al coating remained undamaged even until an elongation of about 150%. Further elongation generated cracks on the coating and the specimen fractured at an elongation of about 200%. In an Ar atmosphere, the specimen exhibited a fracture elongation of over 400% under the same conditions at 573 K at 0.001 s(-1), although a large number of cracks generated on the Al coating.
