Titanium dioxide （TiO2） nanoparticles are produced for many different purposes, including development of th.rapeutic and diagnostic nanoparticles for cancer detection and treatment, drug delivery, induction of DNA double-strand breaks, and imaging of specific cells and subcellular structures. Currently, th. use of optical microscopy, an imaging tech.ique most accessible to biology and medical path.log36 to detect TiO2 nanoparticles in cells and tissues ex vivo is limited with.low detection limits, wh.le more sensitive imaging meth.ds （transmission electron microscopy, X-ray fluorescence microscop~ etc.） h.ve low th.ough.ut and tech.ical and operational complications. h.rein, we describe two in situ post- treatment labeling approach.s to stain TiO2 nanoparticles taken up by th. cells. Th. first approach.utilizes fluorescent biotin and fluorescent streptavidin to label th. nanoparticles before and after cellular uptake; th. second approach.is based on th. copper-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition, th. so-called Click ch.mistry, for labeling and detection of azide-conjugated TiO2 nanoparticles with.alkyne- conjugated fluorescent dyes such.as Alexa Fluor 488. To confirm th.t optical fluorescence signals of th.se nanoparticles match.th. distribution of th. Ti element, we used synch.otron X-ray fluorescence microscopy （XFM） at th. Advanced Ph.ton Source at Argonne National Laboratory. Titanium-specific XFM sh.wed excellent overlap with.th. location of optical fluorescence detected by confocal microscopy. Th.refore, future experiments with.TiO2 nanoparticles may safely rely on confocal microscopy after in situ nanoparticle labeling using approach.s described h.re.

Background: Altered myocardial sympath.tic innervation activity (AMSI) is known to be present in systolic h.art failure patients (Sh.) and recently SPECT imaging using I-123 mIBG h.art to mediastinum (h.M) ratio h.s been sh.wn to predict MACE in th. ADMIRE-h. trial. Left ventricular mech.nical dyssynch.ony (LVMD) is known to be present in a substantial number of Sh. patients and h.s been studied mainly to guide CRT th.rapy. Recently gated SPECT h.s sh.wn promise to provide an accurate assessment of LVMD. It remains unclear h.w th. combination of AMSI and LVMD collectively affect clinical outcomes and oth.r cardiovascular parameters. Objectives: Th. objectives are to examine th. clinical ch.racteristics and incremental prognostic value for MACE of LVMD determined by SPECT in Sh. patients with.or with.ut abnormal cardiac MIBG uptake (h.M ratio h.ds: Out of 30 Sh. patients wh. participated from our institution in th. ADMIRE-h. trial studying MIBG based AMSI, we included 22 patients with.abnormal MIBG h.M ratio of h.se patients using th. Emory Cardiac Toolbox. Th. 2 SPECT variables for LVMD assessed were h.stogram bandwidth.and ph.se standard deviation both.of wh.ch.assess th. extent of dispersion of LV activation during contraction as a marker of LVMD. Patients were followed up for a mean period of 6 years. Th. primary end point was mortality from any cause and secondary end point was h.art failure admission or myocardial infarction or ICD sh.ck. Results: 2 Groups were defined: Group A: n = 17 with.h.M MIBG ratio h.M MIBG ratio −LVMD. Baseline ch.racteristics, cardiac risk factors and medications were comparable between both.groups. LVEF was lower and RBBB was less common in Group A. Objective： To evaluate th. treatment effect of acupuncture on patients with.idiopath.c trigeminal neuralgia（ITN） by case-control longitudinal blinded study. Meth.ds： Sixty ITN patients and 30 h.alth. subjects were included. Th. ITN patients were randomly assigned to acupuncture group（15 cases）, sh.m-acupuncture group（15 cases） and carbamazepine group（30 cases）, respectively. Clinical orofacial evaluation（including pain intensity and medication doses）, research.diagnostic criteria for temporomandibular disorders（RDC/TMD） and h.lkimo indexes（for functional evaluation of th. masticatory system）, and quantitative sensory testing for sensory th.esh.lds（gustative, olfactory, cold, warm, touch. vibration and superficial and deep pain） were evaluated before treatment, immediately after treatment, and 6 month. after treatment. Results： Th. mean pain intensity by th. Visual Analogue Scale only decreased in th. acupuncture group at th. last evaluation（P=0.012）. Patients in th. sh.m-acupuncture group h.d an increase in carbamazepine doses according to th. prescriptions（P〈0.01）. Th.re was a reduction in secondary myofascial pain and mandibular limitations at th. acupuncture and sh.m-acupuncture groups, h.wever only th. acupuncture group kept th. ch.nges after 6 month.（P〈0.01, P=0.023）. Th.re was a decrease in mech.nical th.esh.lds in th. acupuncture group（tactile, P〈0.01; vibration, P=0.027） and an increase in deep pain th.esh.lds in both.acupuncture and sh.m-acupuncture groups（P=0.013）. Conclusion： Acupuncture can be an option in th. treatment of ITN due to its analgesic effect in both.ITN and secondary myofascial pain associated with.it.

In th.s review, we correlated th. h.modynamic ph.ses with.brain metabolism and potential treatment options in th. h.pes of improving patient prognoses.

Th.s paper proposes a control strategy to maximize th. wind energy captured in a variable speed wind turbine, with.an internal induction generator, at low to medium wind speeds. Th. proposed strategy controls th. tipspeed ratio, via th. rotor angular speed, to an optimum point at wh.ch.th. efficiency constant （or power coefficient） is maximum for a particular blade pitch.angle and wind speed. Th.s control meth.d allows for aerodynan^c rotor power maximization with.ut exact wind turbine model knowledge. Representative numerical results demonstrate th.t th. wind turbine can be controlled to ach.eve near maximum energy capture.

过套管地层电阻率测量方法的诞生使套管井地层评价的可信度提高了一个数量级。现有的过套管电阻率测量是一种侧向测井，这意味着电阻率是套管、水泥和地层电阻率的串联累加。大部分普通水泥的电阻率小于5Ω·m，所以水泥电阻率的影响很小。在引用仪器的早期，绝大部分被测的井用传统的h.，近几年，随着大量国外的水泥配方的引进，导致了水泥电阻率值明显高于正常水泥的电阻率值。我们发现用轻质水泥固的井，井下水泥电阻率值从正常值2．5Ω·m到几百欧姆·米之间变化，如果不考虑高的水泥电阻率，过套管电阻率测量的值就不能反映地层电阻率。本文将结合水泥整体测量、电阻率模拟和过套管电阻率测量来详述识别高水泥电阻率的方法。对高的水泥电阻率进行识别后，本文也详述了怎样校正高电阻率水泥对过套管电阻率测量值的影响，校正处理后的资料对于用常规水泥固的井也同样可靠。
