Precision health refers to personalized healthcare based on a person's unique genetic,genomic,or omic composition within the context of lifestyle,social,economic,cultural and environmental influences to help individuals achieve well-being and optimal *** health utilizes big data sets that combine omics(*** sequence,protein,metabolite,and microbiome information)with clinical information and health outcomes to optimize disease diagnosis,treatment and prevention specific to each *** implementation of precision health requires interprofessional collaboration,community outreach efforts,and coordination of care,a mission that nurses are well-positioned to *** the surge of interest and attention to precision health,most nurses are not well-versed in precision health or its implications for the nursing *** on a critical analysis of literature and expert opinions,this paper provides an overview of precision health and the importance of engaging the nursing profession for its *** topics reviewed in this paper include big data and omics,information science,integration of family health history in precision health,and nursing omics research in symptom *** paper concludes with recommendations for nurse leaders in research,education,clinical practice,nursing administration and policy settings for which to develop strategic plans to implement precision health.

Controversies in testosterone replacement therapy： testosterone and cardiovascular disease

The role of testosterone in the cardiovascular （CV） health of men is controversial. Data suggest that both the condition and treatment of clinical hypogonadism is associated with decreased CV mortality; however, two recent studies suggest that hypogonadal subjects treated with testosterone replacement therapy have a higher incidence of new CV events. There has been increased media attention concerning the risk of CV disease in men treated with testosterone. Until date, there are no long-term prospective studies to determine safety. Literature spanning over the past 30 years has suggested that not only is there a possible increased CV risk in men with low levels of testosterone, but the benefits from testosterone therapy may even lower this risk. We review here the recent studies that have garnered such intense scrutiny. This article is intended as a thorough review of testosterone levels and CV risk, providing the clinician with the facts needed to make informed clinical decisions in managing patients with clinical hypogonadism.

In this paper we report on Longgudong,an Early Pleistocene cave site in south China which was systematically excavated in 1999 and 2000,and where human teeth and associated stone artifacts were discovered within the same stratigraphic *** age of this site was estimated from faunal comparisons and palaeomagnetism and has been attributed to the Early Pleistocene,most probably the earlier Early *** human teeth from this site have been well ***,the stone artifacts are still unknown to most *** paper thus presents an analysis of the lithics as the first firmly demonstrated stone tools associated with Early Pleistocene human fossils in south China.

The distribution of many plant species has been shaped by climate changes,and their current phenotypic and genetic variability refect microclimatically suitable *** study relates contemporary climate to variability patterns of phenotypic traits and molecular markers in the Argentinean distribution of Anadenanthera colubrina ***,as well as to identify the most relevant phenotypic trait or molecular marker associated with those *** from four populations in both biogeographic provinces,Paranaense and Yungas,were *** analyses and multiple linear regressions were carried out to determine relationships among phenotypic traits and nuclear microsatellites,respectively,to climatic variables,and to identify the phenotypic traits as well as nuclear microsatellite loci most sensitive to *** and three clusters of individuals were detected based on genetic and phenotypic data,*** clusters based on genetic data refected the biogeographic origin of *** traits were the most relevant indicators of climatic *** microsatellite locus Ac41.1 appeared to be non-neutral presenting a strong correlation with climate variable temperature *** findings show complex patterns of genetic and phenotypic variability in the Argentinean distribution of *** *** related to the present or contemporary climate,and provides an example for an integrative approach to better understand climate impact on contemporary genetic and phenotypic variability in light of global climate change.

Beyond postcolonialism： New directions for the history of nonwestern architecture

Overturning assumptions that nonwestern architecture has been static over time, new scholar- ship focused on colonial and postcolonial architecture and urbanism and on nonwestern modernism has made a significant contnbution to our understanding of the history of architecture. Much more, however, remains to be done. Comparative studies of colonialism, especially between empires, attention to innovation outside Europe and the English-speaking world and more consideration of memory and migration are among the most exciting possible new directions.

Reinforced concrete in Louis Kahn＇s National Assembly, Dhaka： Modernity and modernism in Bangladeshi architecture

Louis Kahn is often credited with having in his introduced modern architecture to Bangladesh. In construction as any he employed was already in National Assembly in Dhaka （1962-1983） fact at least as technologically advanced use there. Nor was he the first to use a sophisticated abstract esthetic in what was from 1947 to 1971 East Pakistan. The importance and originality of the National Assembly instead resides in the care with which he built in reinforced concrete and the forms into which he required that it be cast. These were esthetic decisions rooted in a particular theoretical position; they were located outside established modernist practice of the time in both South Asia and the United States. Indeed operating at such a great remove from home may have heightened Kahn＇s authority to implement these forms even as it substantially complicated their execution.

Can rarefaction be used to estimate song repertoire size in birds？

Song repertoire size is the number of distinct syllables, phrases, or song types produced by an individual or population. Repertoire size estimation is particularly difficult for species that produce highly variable songs and those that produce many song types. Estimating repertoire size is important for ecological and evolutionary studies of speciation, studies of sexual selection, as well as studies of how species may adapt their songs to various acoustic environments. There are several methods to estimate repertoire size, however prior studies discovered that all but a full numerical count of song types might have substantial inaccuracies associated with them. We evaluated a somewhat novel approach to estimate repertoire size--rarefaction; a technique ecologists use to measure species diversity on individual and population levels. Using the syllables within American robins＇ Turdus migratorius repertoire, we compared the most commonly used techniques of estimating repertoires to the results of a rarefaction analysis. American robins have elaborate and unique songs with few syllables shared between individuals, and there is no evidence that robins mimic their neighbors. Thus, they are an ideal system in which to compare techniques. We found that the rarefaction technique results resembled that of the numerical count, and were better than two alternative methods （behavioral accumulation curves, and capture-recapture） to estimate syllable repertoire size. Future estimates of repertoire size, particularly in vocally complex species, may benefit from using rarefaction techniques when numerical counts are unable to be performed [Current Zoology 57 （3）： 300-306, 2011].
