Preliminary Application of.High-f.equency Ultrasound in the Dif.erentiation of.Pemphigus and Bullous Pemphigoid: An Observational Study

Objective: Ultrasonography is a diagnostic imaging technique used to visualiz. subcutaneous body structures f.r identif.cation of.possible pathologies. In this study, we aimed to explore the clinical signif.cance of.high-f.equency ultrasound in dif.erentiating the location of.blisters between pemphigus and bullous pemphigoid. Methods: Eighteen patients were recruited in Department of.Dermatology, z.ongda Hospital f.om 2020 to 2021 and divided into a pemphigus group (n = 8) and a bullous pemphigoid group (n = 10) according to the diagnostic criteria f.r each. Ultrasonographic images were collected using a 50-MHz.high-f.equency ultrasound system. The indexes of.ultrasonic evaluation were the layer (epidermis or dermis), siz., shape, internal echo, and boundary of.the blister. Categorical variables are expressed as n (%), and dif.erences were compared using f.sher's exact test. Results: The ultrasonographic images in the pemphigus group showed an intraepidermal semi-arc or irregular anechoic or hypoechoic areas. The inf.rior borders were situated above the characteristic thin linear hyperechoic bands of.the epidermis. A linear hypoechoic band was present at the dermoepidermal junction in some cases. In the ultrasonographic images of.the bullous pemphigoid group, the linear hyperechoic bands of.the epidermis were continuous and intact. An oval f.uid anechoic area (subepidermal blister) was present immediately below the bands. The location of.the blisters in the ultrasonographic images was signif.cantly dif.erent between the 2 groups (P f.equency ultrasound can be used as an auxiliary means to dif.erentiate the location of.blisters between pemphigus and bullous pemphigoid. © 2022 Hospital f.r Skin Diseases (Institute of.Dermatology), Chinese Academy of.Medical Sciences, and Chinese Medical Association, published by Wolters Kluwer, Inc.

Precipitation of.multi-type nano-quasicrystals in a Mg-z.-Y alloy

Mg-6z.-1Y(at.%)ribbons with strengthening precipitates of.multi-type nanoquasicrystals were prepared by melt-spinning f.llowed by aging *** evolution of.the rapidly solidif.ed ribbons during isothermal aging was comprehensively studied using various electron microscopy *** new kinds of.decagonal quasicrystals were f.rmed in aged ribbons,in addition to precipitation of.nanometer icosahedral ***-resolution observations reveal that both decagonal quasicrystals can be modeled by quasiperiodic tiling with decagonal clusters of.2.5 nm in diameter,but overlap of.neighboring clusters in both decagonal quasicrystals is dif.erent f.om the Gummelt model observed in other quasicrystals.A shell composed of.complex Laves Mg-z. domains was f.rmed surrounding each decagonal quasicrystal precipitate upon prolonged *** addition,all kinds of.nanoprecipitates exhibit excellent structure and siz. stability at 573 *** f.ndings may have implications f.r not only f.ndamental studies about quasicrystals,but also microstructural manipulation of.high-perf.rmance Mg alloys.

In situ digital testing method f.r quality assessment of.sof. soil improvement with polyurethane

This study purposes an in situ testing method on quality assessment of.soil *** drilling data includes the spatial distribution and in situ strength of.untreated and treated soil along three dif.erent drillholes measured by on-site drilling monitoring *** f.ctual drilling data can characteriz. the degree of.soil improvement by penetration injection with permeable *** f.om on-site drilling monitoring shows that the linear z.nes represent constant drilling speeds shown in the plot of.drill bit advancement *** drilling time,which indicates the spatial distributions of.soil *** soil prof.le at the study site is composed of.f.ur layers,which includes f.ll,untreated silty clay,treated silty clay,and mucky *** results of.soil prof.le are verif.ed by the parallel site *** constant drilling speeds prof.le the coring-resistant strength of.drilled *** comparing with the untreated silty clay,the constant drilling speeds of.the treated silty clay have been decreased by 13.0-62.8%.Two drilling-speed-based indices of.61.2%and 65.6%are proposed to assess the decreased average drilling speed and the increased in situ strength of.treated silty *** tests,*** compressive strength(UCS)test,have been perf.rmed with core sample to investigate and characteriz. in situ strength by comparing that with drilling *** show that the average predicted strengths of.treated silty clay are 2.4-6.9 times higher than the average measured strength of.untreated silty *** UCS-based indices of.374.5%and 344.2%verif.ed the quality assessment(QA)results by this new in situ *** method provides a cost-ef.ective tool f.r quality assessment of.soil improvement by utiliz.ng the digital drilling data.

Ni_(47)Ti_(44)Nb_(9)shape memory alloy(SMA)is a promising material in the aerospace f.eld due to its wide transf.rmation *** application of.shape memory ef.ect depends on multistep thermomechan-ical loading,viz.,low-temperature def.rmation and subsequent heating to ***-temperature def.rmation prestrain plays a pivotal role in shape memory properties tailoring of.SMA ***,microstructure evolution and def.rmation mechanisms of.Ni_(47)Ti_(44)Nb_(9)SMA subjected to vari-ous prestrain levels are still *** this end,microstructure evolution and shape memory behaviors of.Ni_(47)Ti_(44)Nb_(9)alloy subjected to multistep thermomechanical loading with prestrain levels of.8%-16%at-28℃(M_(s)+30℃)were *** results demonstrate that the stress-strain curve of.the specimen exhibits f.ur distinct stages at a maximal prestrain of.16%.Whereas stageⅡand stageⅢend at prestrains of.8%and∼12%,*** stageⅡ,the stress-induced martensitic transf.rmation is accompanied by the dislocation slip of.the NiTi matrix andβ-Nb *** stageⅢ,in addition to the higher density of.dislocations and f.rther growth of.stress-induced martensite variants(SIMVs),(001)compound twins are introduced as a result of.the(001)def.rmation twinning in stress-induced ***{20-1}martensite twins are gradually introduced in stageⅣ.Correspondingly,af.er subsequent unloading and heating,a higher density of.114}austenite twins f.rm in the specimen with a larger prestrain of.16%.With increasing prestrain f.om 8%to 16%,the recoverable strainε_(re)^(T)upon heating increases f.rst and then ***ε_(re)^(T)obtains a maximum of.7.03%at 10%prestrain and de-creases to 6.17%at 16%*** increase of._(re)^(T)can be attributed to the f.rmation of.new SIMVs,the f.rther growth of.existing SIMVs,and the recoverable(001)compound *** the decrease of._(re)^(T)is mainly associated with the irrecoverable strain by{20−1}martensite *** ef.e

Rescattering of.stimulated Raman side scattering(SRSS)is observed f.r the f.rst time via two-dimensional(2D)particle-in-cell(PIC)*** construct a theoretical model f.r the rescattering process,which can predict the region of.occurrence of.mth-order SRSS and estimate its *** rescattering process is identif.ed by the 2D PIC simulations under typical conditions of.a direct-drive inertial conf.nement f.sion *** electrons produced by second-order SRSS propagate nearly perpendicular to the density gradient and gain nearly the same energy as in f.rst-order SRSS,but there is no cascade acceleration to produce superhot *** studies f.r a wide range of.ignition conditions show that SRSS and associated rescatterings are robust and important processes in inertial conf.nement f.sion.

In recent years, advances in microf.brication technology and tissue engineering have propelled the development of.a novel drug screening and disease modelling platf.rm known as organoid-on-a-chip. This platf.rm integrates organoids and organ-on-a-chip technologies, emerging as a promising approach f.r in vitro modelling of.human organ physiology. Organoid-on-a-chip devices leverage microf.uidic systems to simulate the physiological microenvironment of.specif.c organs, of.ering a more dynamic and f.exible setting that can mimic a more comprehensive human biological context. However, the lack of.f.nctional vasculature has remained a signif.cant challenge in this technology. Vascularisation is crucial f.r the long-term culture and in vitro modelling of.organoids, holding important implications f.r drug development and personalised medical approaches. This review provides an overview of.research progress in developing vascularised organoid-on-a-chip models, addressing methods f.r in vitro vascularisation and advancements in vascularised organoids. As the sole obligate symbiotic birds in Af.ica,oxpeckers of.er a unique model f.r studying symbiotic *** to the multitrophic level they occupy and the context dependent f.raging behavior they exhibit,the type of.symbiotic relationship can be *** addition to providing a cleaning service to the host by removing ticks,oxpeckers f.equently f.ed on blood,mucus,and saliva,inf.icting potential damage on the ***,we used DNA metabarcoding on f.ecal samples to analyz. the taxonomic composition of.the trophic interactions of.the Yellow-billed Oxpecker(Buphagus af.icanus)and Red-billed Oxpecker(***)in northeastern *** contrast to conventional methods,DNA metabarcoding allows f.r a detailed identif.cation of.dietary resources encompassing both mammal hosts and consumed arthropods within the same *** this inf.rmation,we examined dif.erences in the diet composition between oxpecker species and localities,as well as the co-occurrence between host and arthropod *** f.ndings revealed that oxpeckers predominantly source their diet f.om mammals,ticks,and f.ies;however,ticks and f.ies rarely co-occur in the diet of.an *** observed variability among individuals in their f.eding ecology,which is strongly correlated with locality and,to a lesser extent,with the mammal *** noted a high degree of.mobility between hosts within relatively short periods,with 32%of.the samples showing traces of.at least two mammal *** study illustrates the dynamic f.raging behavior of.these specializ.d symbiotic birds,shedding light on their potential role in pest control services and disease transmission.

The Van Hoof.ef.ect is a phase shif. existing between the radial velocity curves of.hydrogen and metallic lines within the atmosphere of.pulsating *** this article,we present a study of.this phenomenon through the spectra of.the brightest pulsating star RR Lyr of.RR Lyrae stars recorded f.r 22 *** based ourselves,on the one hand,on 1268 spectra(41 nights of.observation)recorded between the years 1994 and 1997 at the Observatory of.Haute Provence(OHP,f.ance)previously observed by Chadid and Gillet,and on the other hand on 1569 spectra(46nights of.observation)recorded at our Oukaimeden Observatory(Morocco)between 2015 and *** this study,we have detected inf.rmation on atmospheric dynamics that had not previously been ***,the Van Hoof.ef.ect which results in a clear correlation between the radial velocities of.hydrogen and those of.the metallic lines has been observed and analyz.d at dif.erent Blaz.ko phases.A correlation between the radial velocities of.dif.erent metallic lines located in the lower atmosphere has been observed as *** the f.rst time,we were able to show that the amplitude of.the radial velocity curves deduced f.om the lines of.hydrogen and that of.f.Ⅱ(λ4923.921?)increases toward the minimum of.the Blaz.ko cycle and decreases toward the maximum of.the same Blaz.ko ***,we f.und that the Van Hoof.ef.ect is also modulated by the Blaz.ko ***,toward the minimum of.the Blaz.ko cycle the Van Hoof.ef.ect is more visible and at the maximum of.the Blaz.ko cycle,this ef.ect is *** also observed the temporal evolution of.the amplitudes of.the radial velocities of.the lower and upper *** observed over a long time,we can interpret it as a f.nction of.the Blaz.ko phases.

The generation of.ultrashort high-power light sources in the mid-inf.ared(mid-IR)to terahertz.THz.range is of.interest f.r applications in a number of.f.elds,f.om f.ndamental research to biology and *** conventional laser technology,photon deceleration in plasma wakes provides an alternative approach to the generation of.ultrashort mid-IR or THz.***,we present a photon deceleration scheme f.r the ef.icient generation of.ultrashort mid-IR or THz.pulses by using an intense driver laser pulse with a relatively short wavelength and a signal laser pulse with a relatively long *** signal pulse trails the driver pulse with an appropriate time delay such that it sits at the f.ont of.the second wake bubble that is driven by the driver *** to its relatively long wavelength,the signal pulse will be subjected to a large gradient of.the ref.active index in the plasma wake ***,the photon deceleration in the plasma wake becomes f.ster and more ef.icient f.r signal pulses with longer *** greatly enhances the capacity and ef.iciency of.photon deceleration in the generation of.ultrashort high-power light sources in the long-wavelength IR and THz.spectral ranges.

This study f.cuses on the ef.ects of.a polytropic f.uid on a charged gravitational source within f.T) gravity, where T is the torsion scalar. We investigate how the electromagnetic f.eld af.ects the f.ow of.energy in spherically symmetric and static celestial objects that contain relativistic f.uids. By using the gravitational decoupling technique, we analyz. the ef.ects of.polytropic f.uid on the dynamics of.the gravitational source, accompanied by the matching of.the interior geometry with an exterior at the hypersurf.ce Σ. f.nally, with the help of.the Tolman ⅡV solution, we observe the conduct of.energy conditions with the existence of.charge using f.T)f.eld equations and got the intended outcomes.
