Background:Intimate partner violence(IPV)is a worldwide issue with a high prevalence rate seen *** and Objectives:To plan and implement preventive measures,it is important to understand the characteristics,background,and medico-legal significance,especially from the perspective of *** and methods:this study is a questionnaire-based retrospective study conducted among perpetrators of IPV who presented to a tertiary care hospital in Sri ***:Out of 325 subjects,97.2%were males and 64.0%were aged 26–45 ***(80.9%)perpetrators were older than the victimized partner,with a mean age gap of 4.3 *** 2.8%had achieved higher education and 78.5%had been married to the victim for more than5 *** and/or other substances were abused by 75.4%and 11.1%of them were diagnosed with a psychiatric *** have been exposed to child abuse(CA)as minors(50.1%),with physical CA being the most common,whereas 42.5%had witnessed IPV during their ***-treatment by the spouse(odds ratio[OR]=24[95%confidence interval(CI):5.6,99.9])and substance use(OR=22[95%CI:5.1,91.5])were significantly associated with perpetrating emotional violence.A victim having an extramarital affair was 5.1 times more likely to be subjected to sexual IPV,whereas previous IPV,parental deprivation,and affairs of perpetrator were proved to be protective *** had negatively affected the economy of 71.3%of *** procedures were expected by 22.4%,whereas 60%wanted to negotiate with their ***:Families having low income and alcohol/substance abuse should be targeted to plan preventive programs at the community *** counseling and follow-up of victims of CA can be used as a primary preventive measure of IPV.

the landscape of human resource management within large enterprises necessitates efficient and unbiased recruitment practices to ensure organisational effectiveness and foster diversity(Ayoko&Fujimoto,2023).Traditional hiring processes often create biases,which cause additional challenges in achieving proper objectives(Bogen,2021).According to Workable(***),the average time to fill a job requisition is 41 days(Howden,2023).this paper proposes a framework for the development and implementation of an Artificially Capable Intelligent(ACI)-powered Human Resource(HR)Assistant for large enterprises(possibly more than 300 employees)to eliminate these unnecessary challenges caused by biases in hiring practices,therefore directly addressing fair and just participation in society and the world of *** framework integrates ACI technologies,particularly candidate identification,to revolutionise HR *** leveraging ACI algorithms,the proposed hyper-realistic assistant aims to revolutionise the recruitment *** will significantly reduce the average time to fill job ***,the ACI-powered system is designed to mitigate biases inherent in traditional hiring practices,thus fostering a fair and inclusive environment for all candidates in the shortest possible time *** paper includes the key components and working processes of the ACI-powered HR Assistant *** a comprehensive theoretical analysis,the paper investigates the system’s working process and how the framework aligns with the goal of promoting a fair and participatory environment in the world of ***,the proposed framework represents a main step towards enhancing organisational effectiveness,fostering diversity,and advancing equitable recruitment practices in the futuristic workplace.

Cancer is one of the deadliest diseases in developing countries. In recent years, natural plant-based compounds have been used in the search for drugs to combat numerous diseases, including cancer. In this study, we evaluate the cytotoxic properties of paanfo tiben 1 and paanfo tiben 2, two traditional herbal formulations from Burkina Faso used in the treatment of cancer in Burkina Faso. To this end, the recipes were infused and freeze-dried. the dry extracts obtained were used to determine total phenolics and flavonoids content, assess antioxidant activity using the DPPH, ABTS and FRAP methods, evaluate anti-inflammatory properties by inhibiting 15-LOX, COX 1 and 2, and assess cytotoxic activity on HeLa cervical cancer and HePG2 liver cancer cell lines using the mTT test. the paanfo tiben 1 recipe showed the highest levels of total phenolics and flavonoids, as well as the best antioxidant activities, with IC50 values of 21.020 ± 0.6 µg/ml and 22.94 ± 0.57 µg/ml for DPPH and ABTS, and 165.15 mm EAA/mg dry extract for FRAP. It also exhibited the best cytotoxic activity with IC50 values of 112.02 ± 0.025 µg/ml on HeLa cells and 80.67 ± 6.08 µg/ml on HepG2 cells. On the other hand, paanfo tiben 2 exhibited the best anti-inflammatory activities through inhibition of 15-LOX and COX 1, with inhibition percentages at 100 µg/ml of 32.523% and 24.717 % respectively. these results could justify the traditional use of these two recipes by traditional health practitioners in the treatment of cancer sufferers in Burkina Faso.

methionine(met) is an essential and first limiting amino acid in the poultry diet that plays a significant role in chicken embryonic development and growth. the present study examined the effect of in ovo injection of DL-met and L-met sources and genotypes on chicken embryonic-intestinal development and health. Fertilized eggs of the two genotypes, TETRA-SL layer hybrid(TSL)—commercial layer hybrid and Hungarian Partridge colored hen breed(HPC)—a native genotype, were randomly distributed into four treatments for each genotype. the treatment groups include the following: 1) control non-injected eggs(NoIn); 2) saline-injected(SaIn); 3) DL-met injected(DLm); and 4) L-met injected(Lm). the in ovo injection was carried out on 17.5 d of embryonic development; after hatching, eight chicks per group were sacrificed, and the jejunum was extracted for analysis. the results showed that both DLm and Lm groups had enhanced intestinal development as evidenced by increased villus width, villus height, and villus area(P mpared to the control. the DLm group had significantly reduced crypt depth, glutathione(GSH) content, glutathione S-transferase 3 alpha(GST3), occludin(OCLN) gene expression and increased villus height to crypt depth ratio in the TSL genotype than the Lm group(P the HPC genotype has overexpressed insulin-like growth factor 1(IGF1) gene, tricellulin(mD2), occludin(OCLN),superoxide dismutase 1(SOD1), and GST3 genes than the TSL genotype(P these findings showed that in ovo injection of met enhanced intestinal development, and function, with genotypes responding differently under normal conditions. Genotypes also influenced the expression of intestinal antioxidants, tight junction, and growth-related genes.

Introduction: Cervical cancer is a public health concern and is mainly caused by Human papillomaviruses (HPV). In many parts of the world, studies are being carried out to understand the different genotypes to better tackle this issue. We conducted a study to determine the prevalence of HPV genotypes in women with chronic hepatitis B or C infection, co-infected or not with HIV, treated at the Hôpital Saint Camille in Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso). methods: this study was conducted from April to July 2023, including 100 women in gastroenterology at Hôpital Saint Camille. A questionnaire on their socio-demographic and life style was administrated;and endocervical samples were collected using sterile swabs and then sent to Centre of Biomolecular Research Pietro Annigoni (CERBA). HPV molecular detection and genotyping were performed by PCR and hybridization using the HPV Direct Flow Chips kit. Data were analysis using chi square test or Fischer’s exact test with a significance threshold for p Results: the prevalence of HPV infection was 28% (28/100) on the sample of women tested. the most frequent genotypes were HPV 52 (8.33%), followed by HPV 18 and 68 (6.25% each) for high-risk HPVs, and HPV 6, 44/55 and 62/81 (8.33% each) for low-risk HPVs. Conclusion: this study, the first of its kind in Burkina Faso on this group of the population, reveals that the most frequent genotypes found in this study are not included in the vaccine available in Burkina Faso (Gardasil®4).

Background: the World Health Organization (WHO) has set a goal to eradicate or at least significantly reduce the prevalence the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), hepatitis B Virus (HBV) and Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) by 2030. the main objective was to provide an evolving overview of the prevalence of HIV, HBV and HCV infection between 2003 and 2022 in Burkina Faso. methods: It was a retrospective cross-sectional study based on data from 2003 to 2022. the data were collected using information available in the databases of the HOSCO and CERBA laboratories and included all individuals who underwent HIV and/or HBV and/or HCV testing. Data analysis was performed using SPSS version 20.0, EpiInfo 7, and R version 4.1.0. Results were considered statistically significant if p Results: the study recorded 7432 samples and the mean age of the subjects was 27.98 ± 8.50 years. During this period, the respective prevalence of HIV, HBV, and HCV were 4.66% (346/7432), 8.77% (582/6636) and 5.54% (322/5816). However, from 2003 to 2022, there was a significant decrease (P y=−1.75x+12.59;y=−0.24x+10.01and y=−0.11x+6.02, with “y” corresponding to prevalence and “x” to the years. Conclusion: Burkina Faso needs to rigorously apply prevention and control strategies recommended by the WHO by 2030.

AIm： To investigate the use of high dose consensusinterferon in combination with ribavirin in former iv drug users infected with hepatitis C. mEthODS： We started, before pegylated （PEG）interferons were available, an open-label study to investigate the efficacy and tolerability of high dose induction therapy with consensus interferon （CIFN） and ribavirin in treatment of naiive patients with chronic hepatitis C. Fifty-eight patients who were former iv drug users, were enrolled receiving 18 μg of CIFN daily for 8 wk, followed by 9 μg daily for up to wk 24 or 48 and 800 mg of ribavirin daily. End point of the study was tolerability and eradication of the virus at wk 48 and sustained virological response at wk 72. RESULTS： more than 62% of patients responded to the treatment with CIFN at wk 24 or 48, respectively, showing a negative qualitative PCR [genotype 1 fourteen patients （56%）, genotype 2 five （50%）, genotype 3 thirteen （87%）, genotype 4 four （50%）]. Forty-eight percent of genotype 1 patients showed sustained virological response （SVR） six months after the treatment. CONCLUSION： CIFN on a daily basis is well tolerated and side effects like leuko- and thrombocytopenia are moderate. End of therapy （EOT） rates are slightly lower than the newer standard therapy with pegylated interferons. CIFN on a daily basis might be a favourable therapy regimen for patients with GTI and high viral load or for non-responders after failure of standard therapy.
