Isolation and characterisation of human gingival margin-derived STRo-1/MACS^+ and MACS^-cell populations

Recently,gingival margin-derived stem/progenitor cells isolated via STRo-1/magnetic activated cell sorting（MACS） showed remarkable periodontal regenerative potential in *** a second-stage investigation,the present study＇s aim was to perform in vitro characterisation and comparison of the stem/progenitor cell characteristics of sorted STRo-1-positive（MACS~＋） and STRo-1-negative（MACS^-） cell populations from the human free gingival *** were isolated from the free gingiva using a minimally invasive technique and were magnetically sorted using anti-STRo-1 ***,the MACS~＋ and MACS^- cell fractions were characterized by flow cytometry for expression of CD14,CD34,CD45,CD73,CD90,CD105,CD146/MUC18 and ***-forming unit（CFU） and multilineage differentiation potential were assayed for both cell *** marker expression was examined using real-time polymerase chain reaction（PCR）.MACS~＋ and MACS- cell fractions showed plastic ***~＋ cells,in contrast to MACS- cells,showed all of the predefined mesenchymal stem/progenitor cell characteristics and a significantly higher number of CFUs（P〈0.01）.More than 95%of MACS~＋ cells expressed CD105,CD90 and CD73;lacked the haematopoietic markers CD45,CD34 and CD14,and expressed STRo-1 and CD146/***- cells showed a different surface marker expression profile,with almost no expression of CD14 or STRo-1,and more than 95%of these cells expressed CD73,CD90 and CD146/MUC18,as well as the haematopoietic markers CD34 and CD45 and ***~＋ cells could be differentiated along osteoblastic,adipocytic and chondroblastic *** contrast,MACS- cells demonstrated slight osteogenic *** MACS~＋ cells showed significantly higher expression of collagen I（P〈0.05） and collagen III（P〈0.01）,whereas MACS^- cells demonstrated higher expression of osteonectin（P〈0.05;MannWhitney）.The present study is the first to compare gingival MACS~＋ and MACS- cell populations demo

The vorticity analysis technique was applied to measure the different lithological units,such as schist,metagranite and metavolcano-sedimentary rocks,which are present in the Halaban *** work aims to interpret the relationship between the different lithologies and the tectonic setting,in order to elucidate the nature of kinematic analysis in the Halaban *** kinematic analyses were applied to feldspar porphyroclasts,quartz and hornblende for twenty-six *** kinematic vorticity number(Wm)for deformed rocks in the study area ranged from~0.6 to *** direction of the long axes for finite strain data(X axes)revealed a WNW trend with shallow *** direction of the short axes for finite strain data(Z axes)were represented by vertical with associated horizontal *** results of the kinematic vorticity and strain analyses are characterized by simple shear with different degrees of deformation in the Halaban ***,our finite strain data shows no significant volume change during *** subhorizontal foliation was synchronized with thrusting and ***,throughout the overlying nappes,the same attitudes of tectonic contacts are observable,the nappes in the orogens being formed from simple shear deformation.

Multiobjective Nonlinear Symmetric Duality Involving Generalized Pseudoconvexity

The purpose of this paper is to introduce second order (K, F)-pseudoconvex and second order strongly (K, F)- pseudoconvex functions which are a generalization of cone-pseudoconvex and strongly cone-pseudoconvex functions. A pair of second order symmetric dual multiobjective nonlinear programs is formulated by using the considered functions. Furthermore, the weak, strong and converse duality theorems for this pair are established. Finally, a self duality theorem is given.

Enhanced bone marrow adipogenesis and impaired osteoblastogenesis have been observed in obesity,suggesting that the metabolic microenvironment regulates bone marrow adipocyte and osteoblast progenitor differentiation *** determine the molecular mechanisms,we studied two immortalized murine cell lines of adipocyte or osteoblast progenitors(BMSCs^adipo and BMSC^sosteo,respectively)under basal and adipogenic culture *** baseline,BMSCs^adipo,and BMSCs^osteo exhibit a distinct metabolic program evidenced by the presence of specific global gene expression,cellular bioenergetics,and metabolomic signatures that are dependent on insulin signaling and glycolysis in BMSCs^osteo versus oxidative phosphorylation in BMSCs^*** test the flexibility of the metabolic program,we treated BMSCsadipo with parathyroid hormone,S961(an inhibitor of insulin signaling)and oligomycin(an inhibitor of oxidative phosphorylation).The treatment induced significant changes in cellular bioenergetics that were associated with decreased adipocytic ***,12 weeks of a high-fat diet in mice led to the expansion of adipocyte progenitors,enhanced adipocyte differentiation and insulin signaling in cultured *** data demonstrate that BMSC progenitors possess a distinct metabolic program and are poised to respond to exogenous metabolic cues that regulate their differentiation fate.

Economic Improvement of Power Factor Correction: A Case Study

Power factor (PF) is simply an expression of energy efficiency, which is always expressed in terms of percentage. Technically, PF is a ratio of real power in Kilowatts to the apparent power, which is always expressed in kilovolts amperes. In AC power analysis, power is always expressed in three ways, the real power (P), reactive power (Q), and the apparent power (Sont-family:Verdana;">). The real power is the work useful power, while the reactive power is the wasted power in the 3-phase AC system, and the apparent power is the vectorial sum of the two powers. The increase of reactive power will reduce the presence of real power, thus making the power to be more expensive. In this paper, we will analyze the importance of improving the power factor by applying a bank of capacitors to a case study in Lebanon. Analysis of the economic improvement in the application of power factor correction is carried out. The result shows a reduction of 12 percent in the total cost.

Domination and Eternal Domination of Jahangir Graph

In the eternal dominating set problem, guards form a dominating set on a graph and at each step, a vertex is attacked. We consider the “all guards move” of the eternal dominating set problem. In which one guard has to move to the attacked vertex and all the remaining guards are allowed to move to an adjacent vertex or stay in their current position after each attack. If the new formed set of guards is still a dominating set of the graph then we successfully defended the attack. our goal is to find the minimum number of guards required to eternally protect the graph. We call this number the m-eternal domination number and we denote it by . In this paper we find the eternal domination number of Jahangir graph Js,m for s=2,3 and arbitrary m. We also find the domination number for J3,m .

Effect of reperfusion strategy on QT dispersion in patients with acute myocardial infarction:Impact on in-hospital arrhythmia

BACKGRoUND Myocardial ischemia and ST-elevation myocardial infarction(STEMI)increase QT dispersion(QTD)and corrected QT dispersion(QTcD),and are also associated with ventricular *** To evaluate the effects of reperfusion strategy[primary percutaneous coronary intervention(PPCI)or fibrinolytic therapy]on QTD and QTcD in STEMI patients and assess the impact of the chosen strategy on the occurrence of in-hospital *** This prospective,observational,multicenter study included 240 patients admitted with STEMI who were treated with either PPCI(group I)or fibrinolytic therapy(group II).QTD and QTcD were measured on admission and 24 hr after reperfusion,and patients were observed to detect in-hospital *** There were significant reductions in QTD and QTcD from admission to 24 hr in both group I and group II *** and QTcD were found to be shorter in group I patients at 24 hr than those in group II(53±19 msec vs 60±18 msec,P=0.005 and 60±21 msec vs 69+22 msec,P=0.003,respectively).The occurrence of in-hospital arrhythmia was significantly more frequent in group II than in group I(25 patients,20.8%vs 8 patients,6.7%,P=0.001).Furthermore,QTD and QTcD were higher in patients with in-hospital arrhythmia than those without(P=0.001 and P=0.02,respectively).CoNCLUSIoN In STEMI patients,PPCI and fibrinolytic therapy effectively reduced QTD and QTcD,with a higher observed reduction using *** was associated with a lower incidence of in-hospital arrhythmia than fibrinolytic *** addition,QTD and QTcD were shorter in patients not experiencing in-hospital arrhythmia than those with arrhythmia.

Effects of Genetics and Environment on Fatty Acid Stability in Soybean Seed

Although seed oil production and composition are genetically controlled, changes of oil level and oil composition across genotypes and environments such as drought and temperature were observed. The mechanisms of how genotypes interact with environment, affecting oil production and composition, are still not well understood. The objective of this research was to investigate the effect of drought/water stress and temperature on soybean genotypes. Two soybean genotypes of maturity group (MG) II (PI 597411 B and PI 597408) and two of MG VI (Arksoy and PI 437726) were used. A repeated greenhouse experiment to study the effect of water stress and a repeated growth chamber experiment to study the effect of temperature were conducted. The results showed that both water stress and high temperature altered seed oil composition by increasing oleic acid and decreasing linoleic and linolenic acid concentrations. Severe water stress (soil water potential between -150 to -200 kPa) or high temperature (40/33℃, day/night) resulted in higher palmitic acid and lower stearic acid. Genotypes differed in their responses to water stress or temperature. Analyses of seed carbohydrates (glucose, fructose, sucrose, raffinose, and stachyose) showed a significant decline of glucose, fructose, and sucrose and a significant increase of stachyose concentration by water stress and high temperature. Analyses of natural abundance of δ15N and δ13C isotopes showed changes in sources of nitrogen and carbon fixation, possibly affecting nitrogen and carbon metabolism pathways. The research demonstrated that both water stress and high temperature altered oil production and composition, and this could be partially related to limited availability and movement of carbohydrates from leaves to seed. Further research to investigate the enzymes controlling fatty acids conversion and nitrogen and carbon metabolism is needed.

EFRED: Enhancement of Fair Random Early Detection Algorithm

Quality of Service (QoS) generally refers to measurable like latency and throughput, things that directly affect the user experience. Queuing (the most popular QoS tool) involves choosing the packets to be sent based on something other than arrival time. The Active queue management is important subject to manage this queue to increase the effectiveness of Transmission Control Protocol networks. Active queue management (AQM) is an effective means to enhance congestion control, and to achieve trade-off between link utilization and delay. The de facto standard, Random Early Detection (RED), and many of its variants employ queue length as a congestion indicator to trigger packet dropping. one of these enhancements of RED is FRED or Fair Random Early Detection attempts to deal with a fundamental aspect of RED in that it imposes the same loss rate on all flows, regardless of their bandwidths. FRED also uses per-flow active accounting, and tracks the state of active flows. FRED protects fragile flows by deterministically accepting flows from low bandwidth connections and fixes several shortcomings of RED by computing queue length during both arrival and departure of the packet. Unlike FRED, we propose a new scheme that used hazard rate estimated packet dropping function in FRED. We call this new scheme Enhancement Fair Random Early Detection. The key idea is that, with EFRED Scheme change packet dropping function, to get packet dropping less than RED and other AQM algorithms like ARED, REM, RED, etc. Simulations demonstrate that EFRED achieves a more stable throughput and performs better than current active queue management algorithms due to decrease the packets loss percentage and lowest in queuing delay, end to end delay and delay variation (JITTER).

Aging Effect on Characteristics of oil Impregnated Insulation Paper for Power Transformers

This paper deals with experimental investigations of the electrical and physical properties of oil impregnated insulation paper for power transformers at different temperatures. The ac breakdown voltage, tensile strength and water content of insulation papers impregnated in mineral oil for different time periods were investigated. The effect of insulation paper thickness on the electrical and mechanical properties has also been studied. The results showed that the breakdown voltage and the tensile strength decreased with increasing the time of immersion of insulation paper in oil at room temperature, at 5℃ and at -12℃. Also, the thermal aging effect on the characteristic of insulation paper has been studied. It was found that high temperatures affect the breakdown voltage and the tensile strength to a great extent.
