Colored flame compositions have distinctive variety of applications ranging from military signaling,rocket tracking, and illuminating devices. Certain elements and compounds when heated to high temperature are able to emit unique wavelengths in the visible region. This study, reports on the development of novel colored flames that cannot be generated by emitting atomic/molecular species. This was achieved by using chromaticity of basic colored flames. Mixing of high quality primary colored flames including Blue, Yellow, and Red in proper ratio was conducted; any interfering incandescent emission resulted from Mgo was eliminated using Al metal fuel. The spectral characteristics in terms of luminous intensity, and color quality were evaluated using digital luxmeter and UV-Vis. spectrometer *** quality mixed colored flames include violet, sweet pink, and marigold were developed. This study shaded the light on the state of the art for the real development of novel colored flame compositions and chromaticity of basic colored flames.

Effect of Elevated Co_2 and Drought on Soil Microbial Communities Associated with Andropogon gerardii

our understanding of the effects of elevated atmospheric Co2, singly and in combination with other environmental changes, on plant-soil interactions is incomplete. Elevated Co2 effects on C4 plants, though smaller than on C3 species, are mediated mostly via decreased stomatal conductance and thus water loss. Therefore, we characterized the interactive effect of elevated Co2 and drought on soil microbial communities associated with a dominant C4 prairie grass, Andropogon gerardii Vitman. Elevated Co2 and drought both affected resources available to the soil microbial community. For example, elevated Co2 increased the soil C：N ratio and water content during drought, whereas drought alone decreased both. Drought significantly decreased soil microbial biomass. In contrast, elevated Co2 increased biomass while ameliorating biomass decreases that were induced under drought. Total and active direct bacterial counts and carbon substrate use （overall use and number of used sources） increased significantly under elevated Co2. Denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis analysis revealed that drought and elevated Co2, singly and combined, did not affect the soil bacteria community structure. We conclude that elevated Co2 alone increased bacterial abundance and microbial activity and carbon use, probably in response to increased root exudation. Elevated Co2 also limited drought-related impacts on microbial activity and biomass, which likely resulted from decreased plant water use under elevated Co2. These are among the first results showing that elevated Co2 and drought work in opposition to modulate plant-associated soil-bacteria responses, which should then influence soil resources and plant and ecosystem function.

A 41-year-old man presented with severe gastric ulceration 3 mo after beginning treatment with atorvastatin 20 mg once daily for hypercholesterolemia. The patient was not taking any ulcerogenic drugs and had no evidence of Helicobacter pylori infection. Proton pump inhibitor therapy was initiated and atorvastatin was replaced by simvastatin with complete resolution of gastrointestinal symptoms. To our knowledge, this is the first report of atorvastatin-induced gastric ulceration,which should be looked for in patients who develop abdominal pain while on this drug.

Celiac disease(CD) is now recognized as a common disorder among Middle Eastern(ME) and North African(NA) *** aim of this review is to assess the available data regarding CD in the ME and NA and to compare this information with that of Western countries.A literature review was performed using the electronic databases PubMed and Medline(1950-2008) as search engines,and "celiac disease" was used as a Mesh *** search was limited to ME and NA *** prevalence of CD in ME and NA countries among low risk populations is similar to that of Western countries,but is higher in high risk populations such as those with type 1 *** is underestimated because of lack of clinical suspicion and lack of patient *** presentations in term of gastrointestinal,hematologic,skeletal,and liver manifestations are similar between both populations except for a high prevalence of short stature in some ME and NA *** studies have addressed atypical or silent *** in the West,diagnosis is initially made by serological tests and is confirmed by small intestinal ***-free diet is the main mode of treatment with a higher apparent adherence rate than in the *** disease complications result from *** disease is strongly associated with HLA DQ2 and to a lesser extent with HLA DQ8 *** conclusion,CD prevalence is underestimated,with little data available about its malignant *** parameters in the ME and NA are otherwise similar to those in Western countries.

The nonlinear properties of small amplitude electron-acoustic(EA) solitary and shock waves in a homogeneous system of unmagnetized collisionless plasma with nonextensive distribution for hot electrons have been investigated.A reductive perturbation method used to obtain the Kadomstev-Petviashvili-Burgers *** analysis has been discussed for non-dissipative system in the absence of Burgers term and reveals different classes of the traveling wave *** obtained solutions are related to periodic and soliton waves and their behavior are shown *** the presence of the Burgers term,the EXP-function method is used to solve the Kadomstev-Petviashvih-Burgers equation and the obtained solution is related to shock *** obtained results may be helpful in better conception of waves propagation in various space plasma environments as well as in inertial confinement fusion laboratory plasmas.

AIM To determine the phenotypes and predominant diseasecausing mutations in Lebanese patients with Wilson's disease,as compared to regional non-European *** The clinical profile of 36 patients diagnosed in Lebanon was studied and their mutations were determined by molecular *** patients underwent full physical exam,including ophthalmologic slit-lamp examination ultrasound imaging of the liver,as well as measurement of serum ceruloplasmin and 24-h urinaryCu *** addition,genetic screening using PCR followed by sequencing to determine disease-causing mutations and polymorphisms in the ATP7B gene was carried on extracted DNA from patients and immediate family *** phenotypic-genotypic findings were then compared to reported mutations in Wilson's disease patients from regional Arab and non-European countries. RESULTS Patients belonged to extended consanguineous *** majority were homozygous for the disease-causing mutation,with no predominant mutation identified. The most common mutation,detected in 4 out of 13families,involved the ATP hinge region and was present in patients from Lebanon,Egypt,Iran and ***,mutations in Lebanese patients and those of the region were scattered over 17 exons of *** the homozygous exon 12 mutation Trp939Cys was only detected in patients from Lebanon but none from the regional countries,the worldwide common mutation H1069Q was not present in the Lebanese and was rare in the *** hepatic phenotype was predominant in patients from both Lebanon and the region(25%-65%).Furthermore,the majority of patients,including those who were asymptomatic,had evidence of some hepatic *** neurologic phenotype was rare. CoNCLUSIoN Findings do not support presence of a founder *** and genetic screening is recommended for family members with index patients and unexplained hepatic dysfunction.
