Lack of conclusive beneficial effects of strict glycemic control on macrovascular complications has been very frustrating for clinicians involved in care of patients with diabetes mellitus (Dm). Highly publicized controversy surrounding cardiovascular (CV) safety of rosiglitazone resulted in major changes in United States Food and Drug Administration policy in 2008 regarding approval process of new antidiabetic medications, which has resulted in revolutionary data from several large CV outcome trials over the last few years. All drugs in glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonist (GLP-1 RA) and sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 (SGLT-2) inhibitor classes have shown to be CV safe with heterogeneous results on CV efficacy. Given twofold higher CV disease mortality in patients with Dm than without Dm, GLP-1 RAs and SGLT-2-inhibitors are important additions to clinician’s armamentarium and should be second line-therapy particularly in patients with T2Dm and established atherosclerotic CV disease or high risks for CV disease. Abundance of data and heterogeneity in CV outcome trials results can make it difficult for clinicians, particularly primary care physicians, to stay updated with all the recent evidence. The scope of this comprehensive review will focus on all major CV outcome studies evaluating CV safety and efficacy of GLP-1 RAs and SGLT-2 inhibitors.

Adsorption of phosphate on magnetite-enriched particles (mEP) separated from the mill scale

Phosphate is a major pollutant in water, causing serious environmental and health consequences. In present study, the phosphate adsorption on novel magnetite-enriched particles (mEP) was comprehensively investigated. A new method and device were introduced for the separation of mEP from the mill scale at low magnetic intensity. Particles were characterized with different techniques such as XRD, XRF, SEm and EDS. The XRD and XRF analysis of mEP identified the dominant existence of crystalline magnetite. Furthermore, the morphological analysis of mEP confirmed the agglomerate porous morphology of magnetite. Oxygen and iron, the main constituents of magnetite were acknowledged during the elemental analysis using EDS. The phosphate adsorption on mEP is well explained using various isotherm and kinetic models, exhibiting the monolayer adsorption of phosphate on the surface of mEP. The maximum adsorption capacity was determined 6.41 mg/g. Based on particle size (45–75 and 75–150 μm) and empty bed contact time (1 and 2 h), four columns were operated for 54 days. mEP were appeared successful to remove all phosphate concentration from the column influent having 2 mg/L concentration. The operated column reactors were successfully regenerated with alkaline solution. The results indicated potential for practical application of the mEP for phosphate removal.

A black shale sample collected from the Chimiari site(Tarbela) was analyzed for elemental *** coupled plasma-optical emission spectrometry(ICP-OES) was employed to determine major and trace elements in the *** analysis was accomplished for the black shales,which was better than 2.0%.Result shows that the shales are very rich in Ca(25439 μg·g-1),Fe(13933 μg·g-1),Ti(6932 μg·g-1),Al(5993 μg·g-1) and K(2730 μg·g-1).

Temporal pattern mining from user-generated content

Faster internet, IoT, and social media have reformed the conventional web into a collaborative web resulting in enormous user-generated content. Several studies are focused on such content;however, they mainly focus on textual data, thus undermining the importance of metadata. Considering this gap, we provide a temporal pattern mining framework to model and utilize user-generated content's metadata. First, we scrap 2.1 million tweets from Twitter between Nov-2020 to Sep-2021 about 100 hashtag keywords and present these tweets into 100 User-Tweet-Hashtag (UTH) dynamic graphs. Second, we extract and identify four time-series in three timespans (Day, Hour, and minute) from UTH dynamic graphs. Lastly, we model these four time-series with three machine learning algorithms to mine temporal patterns with the accuracy of 95.89%, 93.17%, 90.97%, and 93.73%, respectively. We demonstrate that user-generated content's metadata contains valuable information, which helps to understand the users' collective behavior and can be beneficial for business and research. In this paper, we explore the spanning simplicial complex of wheel graph Wn on vertex set [n]. Combinatorial properties of the spanning simplicial complex of wheel graph are discussed, which are then used to compute the f-vector and Hilbert series of face ring k[Δs(Wn)] for the spanning simplicial complex Δs(Wn). moreover, the associated primes of the facet ideal IF(Δs(Wn)) are also computed.

In this paper, we introduce the concept of the spanning simplicial complex As（G） associated to a simple finite connected graph G. We characterize all spanning trees of the uni-cyclic graph Un,m. In particular, we give a formula for computing the Hilbert series and h-vector of the Stanley-Reisner ring k[△s（Un,m）]. Finally, we prove that the spanning simplicial complex △s（Un,m） is shifted and hence is shellable.

Validation of an Optimized Spectrophotometric method for the Selective Determination of Labetalol Hydrochloride

A simple sensitive and economical method for the determination of labetalol hydrochloride has been proposed, based on the reaction of labetalol with sodium nitroprusside and hydroxylamine hydrochloride in sodium dihydrogen phosphate-sodium hydroxide buffer solution of pH 12. The green-blue color produced due to the formation of a nitroso derivative has been measured at 695 nm. The Beer＇s range was obeyed in the concentration range of 2-51 μg·mL^-1 with molar absorptivity of 0.48 × 10^4 L·mol^-1·cm^-1. Rigorous statistical analyses were performed for the validation of the method. A detailed investigation of the selectivity of the method has been done to find it to be highly selective for the determination of labetalol hydrochloride in the presence of its acidic degradation product and common excipients of formulations. The proposed method was successfully applied to the determination of labetalol hydrochloride in the laboratory prepared dosage forms. Comparison of the means of the proposed procedure with a reference method using point as well as interval hypotheses showed no statistically significant difference. The developed method was extended to investigate its applicability to biological samples.
