Growth Performa.ce a.d Digestibility in Ka.a.i La.bs Receiving Different Levels of Pomegra.a.e Peels

The objective of current study wa. to determine the effect of different ra.ios of pomegra.a.e peel in diets of Ka.a.i la.bs (0%, 1%, 2% or 4% a. control, T1, T2 a.d T3, respectively) on body weight, tota. body ga.n, a.era.e da.ly ga.n, da.ly feed inta.e a.d a.pa.ent digestibility of nutrients. Sixteen Ka.a.i ma.e la.bs weighing 23.29 ± 0.42 kg a.d 4.5-5 months old ra.domly divided into equa.ly four trea.ment groups a.d individua.ly penned for the period of 63 da.s. Results indica.ed tha. fina. body weight wa. significa.tly (P a.bs fed 1% or 2% pomegra.a.e peel (PP) a. compa.ed to la.bs fed 4% PP. The best improvements in tota. feed inta.e, tota. ga.n, a.era.e da.ly ga.n a.d feed conversion ra.io (FCR) in la.bs fed 1% PP. The tota. dry ma.ter (DM), orga.ic ma.ter (OM), crude protein (CP), ether extra.t (EE), a.h, nitrogen free extra.t (NFE) a.d meta.oliza.le energy (ME) inta.e per (body weight0.75) increa.ed (P a.tly in la.bs fed 1% pomegra.a.e peel (PP);however, the crude fiber (CF) inta.e decrea.ed in la.bs fed 1% PP a. compa.ed to other trea.ments. While, the dry ma.ter digestibility (DMD), crude protein digestibility (CPD), crude fiber digestibility (CFD) a.d nitrogen free extra.t digestibility (NFED) were significa.tly (P a.bs fed 1% PP a. compa.ed to T2, T3 a.d control groups. In a.dition, EED increa.ed significa.tly in T3 compa.ed to other trea.ments. In conclusion, it wa. indica.ed tha. a.dition of pomegra.a.e peel in diet a. the ra.e of 1% or 2% ha. significa.t effect on Ka.a.i la.bs performa.ce a.d digestibility.
