Alternative mRNA splicing is a fundamental process to increase the versatility of the *** humans,cardiac mRNA splicing is involved in the pathophysiology of heart *** in the splicing factor RNA binding motif protein 20(RBM20) cause severe forms of *** identify novel cardiomyopathy-associated splicing factors,RNA-seq and tissue-enrichment analyses were performed,which identified up-regulated expression of Sam68-Like mammalian protein 2(SLM2) in the left ventricle of dilated cardiomyopathy(DCM) *** the human heart,SLM2 binds to important transcripts of sarcomere constituents,such as those encoding myosin light chain2(MYL2),troponin 13(TNNI3),troponin T2(TNNT2),tropomyosin 1/2(TPM1/2),and titin(TTN).Mechanistically,SLM2 mediates intron retention,prevents exon exclusion,and thereby mediates alternative splicing of the mRNA regions encoding the variable proline-,glutamate-,valine-,and lysine-rich(PeVK) domain and another part of the I-band region of *** summary,SLM2 is a novel cardiac splicing regulator with essential functions for maintaining cardiomyocyte integrity by binding to and processing the mRNAs of essential cardiac constituents such as titin.

This article aims to understand the training process of history undergraduates,to see if there are decolonial curricular practices to combat racism at the Centro Universitário e Faculdade Projeção(UniProjeção)in the Federal District,to understand how coloniality has corroborated the exclusion of different epistemologies and the erasure of different cultures,and how this exclusionary process of coloniality interferes in the training of history *** order to combat this practice,we are looking for alternatives that can break these suppressions carried out by *** this way,we turn to decolonial ideas that aim to break with the logic of *** can conclude that these practices are poorly developed in the institution,so we proposed active problem-based methodology and music as a didactic *** playful educational tools that strengthen the teaching-learning process,they are active agents in the decolonial work of combating racism,and it is essential to train responsible and ethical teachers in the fight against racism and any form of oppression.

Impact of the microenvironment on the pathogenesis of mucosaassociated lymphoid tissue lymphomas

Pebax/TSIL blend thin film composite membranes for CO_2 separation

In this study a thin film composite(TFC) membrane with a Pebax/Task-specific ionic liquid(TSIL) blend selective layer was prepared. Defect-free Pebax/TSIL layers were coated successfully on a polysulfone ultrafiltration porous support with a polydimethylsiloxane(PDMS) gutter layer. Different parameters in the membrane preparation(e.g. concentration, coating time) were investigated and optimized. The morphology of the membranes was studied by scanning electron microscopy(SeM), while the thermal properties and chemical structures of the membrane materials were investigated by thermo-gravimetric analyzer(TGA), differential scanning calorimetry(DSC) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR). The CO_2 separation performance of the membrane was evaluated using a mixed gas permeation test. experimental results show that the incorporation of TSIL into the Pebax matrix can significantly increase both CO_2 permeance and CO_2/N_2 selectivity. With the presence of water vapor, the membrane exhibits the best CO_2/N_2 selectivity at a relative humidity of around 75%, where a CO_2 permeance of around 500 GPU and a CO_2/N_2 selectivity of 46 were documented. A further increase in the relative humidity resulted in higher CO_2 permeance but decreased CO_2/N_2 selectivity. experiments also show that CO_2 permeance decreases with a CO_2 partial pressure increase, which is considered a characteristic in facilitated transport membranes.

Objective::Prenatal infection with the Zika virus (ZIKV) can lead to congenital Zika syndrome (CZS), characterized by microcephaly and brain injury. However, there are questions regarding the prevalence of microcephaly/CZS after the ZIKV outbreak in defined geographic areas. This study aimed to identify adverse outcomes in live births of fetuses exposed in utero to the ZIKV, compared to unexposed births, as well as maternal sociodemographic, delivery, and birth ***::Here, we conducted a cross-sectional observational study to investigate the characteristics of all live births in the city of Tangará da Serra, Mato Grosso, Brazil, in 2016, after the outbreak of ZIKV infection in late 2015. All live births of children to women residing in the municipality of Tangará da Serra between January 1 and December 31, 2016, were evaluated, and head circumference was measured at birth and after 24 hours. Children born with microcephaly or a maternal history of confirmed or suspected prenatal ZIKV infection were evaluated by a multidisciplinary team. The outcomes of the exposed and non-exposed children were compared. Prevalence ratios and their respective 95% confidence intervals were calculated for sociodemographic, delivery, and live birth ***::Of 1,441 live births, 106 (7.3%) were from mothers with confirmed or highly probable exposure to ZIKV. The prevalence of severe congenital microcephaly (41.7/10,000) in Tangará da Serra in 2016 was ten-fold higher than that in Latin America before ***::This study may serve as a model to investigate possible outbreaks of infections in a defined geographical space in the future.

Using two-colour flow cytometry >200 antibodies submitted to the 8th International Workshop of Human Leukocyte Differentiation Antigens (HLDA8) have been analyzed for their reactivity with resting and activated CD203c+ basophils. Four antibodies either non-reactive or weakly reactive with resting basophils exhibited an increased reactivity with basophils activated by anti-Ige-mediated cross-linking of the high affinity Ige receptor (FcεRI). These include antibod- ies against CD164 (WS-80160, clone N6B6 and WS-80162, clone 67D2), as well as two reagents with previously unknown specificities that were identified as CD13 (WS-80274, clone A8) and CD107a (WS-80280, clone e63-880). The activation patterns followed either the “CD203c-like” or “CD63-like” activation profile. The CD203c profile is characterized by a rapid and significant upregulation (of CD13, CD164, and CD203c), reaching maximum levels after 5- 15 min of stimulation. The phosphoinositide-3-kinase (PI3K)-specific inhibitor wortmannin inhibited the upregulation of these markers whereas 12-O-tetradecanoyl-phorbol-13-acetate (TPA) induced a rapid and FcεRI-independent upregulation within 1-2 min. In the CD63 profile, maximum upregulation (of CD63 and CD107a) was detected only after 20-40 min, and upregulation by TPA reached maximum levels after 60 min. In summary, our data identify CD13, CD107a, and CD164 as novel basophil-activation antigens. Based on time kinetics of upregulation, we hypothesize that molecules of the “CD203c group” and the “CD63 group” are linked to two different mechanisms of basophil activation.

Young Child-Rearing Latina Cancer Survivors Living in the US-Mexico Border Region: A Qualitative Study

Background: Despite increasing cancer incidence among young Latinas (Objective: The purpose of this study was to explore how young, child-rearing Latinas described their challenges, strengths, and social support sources for coping with cancer in the US-Mexico border region. Methods: Nine Latinas that had been diagnosed with cancer, had at least one child 5 to 13 years old, and lived in one of two targeted border counties participated in audio-recorded, semi-structured focus groups (n = 6) or interviews (n = 3) in their preferred language (i.e., English or Spanish). Interview recordings were transcribed and inductively coded using methods based on grounded theory. Results: Three major themes emerged. First, in reporting their physical and emotional struggles with cancer as the most difficult time of their lives, participants described feeling alone as they navigated treatment side effects and continued fear of cancer. Second, they explained figuring out how to live day-by-day, reporting the negative impact of cancer on their families and on their ability to maintain their roles as mothers. Third, they highlighted factors that gave them the strength to fight and carry on, emphasizing their children and their inner strength. Conclusions: Even with a supportive family, young Latina mothers felt alone as they navigated cancer (i.e., treatment, fear, and impact on their families) and as they worked to garner the strength to overcome the stress of cancer. Quality of Semi-Prepared Products from Rainbow Trout Waste(Onchorynchus mykiss)by Using Different Technological Strategics

The consumption of freshwater fish and fish products has gradually grown worldwide over the last decades, generating a proportional waste increase. The objective of the present study was to assess the chemical and bacteriological quality of restructured fish product, meatball-type, prepared with rainbow trout (Onchorynchus mykiss) waste added of 1% transglutaminase (MTG), 4% textured soy protein (TSP) and replacing part of the sodium chloride with potassium chloride (75%/25%) as described below: T1—starch addition (control);T2—MTG addition (1%);T3—soy protein addition (4%);T4—soy protein addition (4%) and MTG addition (1%);T5—soy protein addition (4%), MTG addition (1%) and partial replacement of salt (75% NaCl/25% KCl). Total aerobic mesophilic bacteria (TAMB), 2-thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS), pH determination and quantification of biogenic amines were performed on the day after manufacturing (P0) and after 60 days of storage (P1) at -25℃?± 2℃. The results showed that there was no significant difference (p er storage. T4 presented the lowest total biogenic amine content (256.84 mg/kg) whereas T3 and T5 had the highest value (791.36 and 707.19 mg/kg, respectively) in this parameter. Putrescine was the biogenic amine that presented the highest concentration (504.00 mg/kg) in T3 and cadaverine that presented the smallest concentration (0.36 mg/kg) in T4. The use of technological strategies for developing new products with non-commercial fillets kept the most standards, having changes only in some biogenic amines.
