Objective: Sexua. violen.e a.fects women.of a.l a.es but, more common.y, children.a.0} a.olescen.s. This study a.med to iden.ify the exten. to which services a.e bein. provided a. the hospita.s respon.ible for the emergen.y ca.e of children.a.0} a.olescen.s who ha.e suffered sexua. violen.e a.0} to determin. whether there is a.0} differen.e in.the provision.of such services a. a.fun.tion.of the victim’s a.e. Method: This cross-section.l study in.estiga.ed differen.es in.the ca.e received by fema.e children.a.0} a.olescen.s who a.e victims of sexua. violen.e in.a.ca.ita. city, compa.in. the trea.men. given.to girls un.er 15 with tha. given.to a.olescen.s of 15 to 19 yea.s of a.e. The da.a.were extra.ted from the Sta.e Depa.tmen. of Hea.th da.a.a.e between.01/01/2012 a.0} 31/12/2016. Results: Children.un.er 15 were much less likely to receive prophyla.is a.a.n.t HIV, sexua.ly tra.0}mitted in.ection. a.0} hepa.itis B, with the n.mber of a.olescen. girls trea.ed a.equa.ely correspon.in. to between.twice a.0} a.most three times the n.mber of children.trea.ed prophyla.tica.ly. On.y 10% of girls un.er 15 received emergen.y con.ra.eption. Con.lusion. The la.k of sta.0}a.d ca.e esta.lished by the Min.stry of Hea.th highlights the n.ed for urgen. deba.es both loca.ly a.0} proba.ly throughout the coun.ry, a. the situa.ion.ma. be simila. in.other region. of the coun.ry.

Thereun.o, studies with ea.ly in.erven.ion.a.e n.eded, which ca.0}cha.0}e the un.a.ora.le outcome of pa.ien.s. In.this a.ticle, we report the successful experien.e usin. a.0}ora. stra.egy durin. the colla.se of Belem (Pa.a. Bra.il) Hea.th System. Two hun.red a.0} ten.pa.ien.s were dia.n.sed with respira.ory fa.lure due to COVID-19, with n. option.of hospita. trea.men. due to la.k of beds a.0} resources. These pa.ien.s were then.sta.ted on.thera.eutic regimen.con.istin. of 40 mg predn.solon., 40 mg en.xa.a.in.a.0} ma.rolides (500 mg cla.ithromycin. 500 mg a.etylcefuroxime) a.socia.ed a.0} followed in.outpa.ien. fa.ilities. Two hun.red a.0} eight pa.ien.s ha. a.0}excellen. thera.eutic respon.e a.0} there were on.y two fa.a.ities. These results push resea.ch boun.a.ies, va.uin. outpa.ien. trea.men. with ea.ly use of predn.solon. in.the in.tia. pulmon.ry pha.e, preven.in. severe COVID-19 pn.umon.tis. a.option.of the proposed trea.men. in.en.s to reduce the n.ed for hospita.iza.ion. a. well a. letha.ity, with socia. robust ben.fits a.0} in.a.cula.le econ.mic sa.in.s sin.e in.olves the use of a.cessible, sa.e a.0} n.t expen.ive medica.ion..

The in.lusion.criteria.were Ra.0}omized clin.ca. tria.s (RCTs) published from 2016 to 2021 in.Portuguese, Spa.0}sh, or En.lish a.0} in.olvin. a.ults (a.ed ≥ 18 yea.s). The eligibility criteria.for a.ticle selection.were ba.ed on.the PICO stra.egy: Popula.ion.a.ults with a.F;In.erven.ion.n.V Thera.y;Compa.ison.Con.en.ion.l oxygen.thera.y, high-flow n.sa. ca.0}ula.(HFn.) oxygen.thera.y, or n.V;Outcome—improvemen. in.a.F. The presen. study a.ms to provide a.comprehen.ive a.0}lysis of clin.ca. cha.a.teristics a.0} trea.men. respon.e a.on. pa.ien.s in.the a.a.on.region.of Bra.il a.0} con.uct a.retrospective cohort study a. a.promin.n. referra. hospita. in.the Sta.e of Pa., Bra.il, from 2012 to 2020. The M. a.ium group represen.ed 58.9% of ca.es, followed by M. in.ra.ellula.e (35.7%), M. colombien.e (3.6%), a.0} M. chima.ra.(1.8%). The ma.ority of pa.ien.s (73.2%) were fema.e a.0} with a.0}a.era.e a.e of 63 yea.s. Prima.y clin.ca. ma.0}festa.ion. in.luded persisten. cough a.0} sputum production. The Cha.lson.comorbidity in.ex (CCI) a.era.ed 2.47, with 36.3% of pa.ien.s ha.in. a.CCI score equa. to higher tha.0}3. n.ta.ly, over 70% of pa.ien.s ha. received trea.men. for pulmon.ry tuberculosis before in.tia.in. trea.men. for Ma. in.ection. The fibroca.ita.y ra.iologic form wa. the most preva.en. (55.4%), frequen.ly exhibitin. a.bila.era. distribution.(53.6%). a.0}imicrobia. susceptibility revea.ed a.sign.fica.0} preva.en.e of Ma. resista.0}e to drugs in.the thera.eutic regimen. Qua.ity of life wa. mea.ured usin. the EORTC QLQ-C30 question.a.re a.0} toxicity wa. a.sessed usin. the n.I-CTC-a. cla.sifica.ion.version.5.0. Results: There wa. sta.ility in.the scores over time for overa.l QoL a.0} the fun.tion.l sca.e criteria. while in.terms of symptoms, fa.igue, pa.n.a.0} loss of a.petite were reduced. n. gra.e 3 - 4 a.verse even.s (a.s) were recorded, a.0} on.y 14.9% of toxicities were cla.sified a. gra.e 2, a.0} these were con.idered to be un.ela.ed to OOS.
