Objective:To investigate the prevalence of methicillin-resistant staphylococci(MRS)which is a potencial risk factor of transmission between animals and humans in different types of horses(harness racing-horses,breeding mares and riding-horses)and to compare the antimicrobial resistance of the ***:A total of 191 healthy horses,housed at different locations of the Campania Region(Italy),were included in the *** swab samples were collected from each nostril of the *** mecA gene was detected by a nested PCR *** susceptibility was tested for each ***:MRS was isolated from nasal samples of 68/191(35.6%;95%CI:28.9%-42.9%)healthy *** isolates were coagulase-negative with the exception of two coagulase-positive MRS strains,identified as Staphylococcus aureus and Staphylococcus pseudintermedius.2/83(2.4%;95%,CI:0.4%-9.2%).Interestingly,both coagulase-positive MRS isolates were from harness *** horses also presented a significantly higher positivity for MRS(53.3%;95%CI:40.1%-66.1%)than the breeding mares and riding-horses *** susceptibility testing showed difference between isolates due to different origins except for an almost common high resistance to aminopenicillins,such as ampicillin and ***:It can be concluded that harness racing-horses may act as a significant reservoir of MRS as compared to breeding mares and riding-horses.

Rheological characterization of tomato products is important not only for design of unit operations, but also to optimizeprocesses and guarantee high quality of food products. Time dependence is related with structural changes due to shear rate. Thus,rheological characterization as a function of time is extremely important to understand the changes that occurred in food productsduring commercial processes. However, these characterizations are rare in the literature for tomato products. Those rheologicalproperties depend of several parameters, such as agronomic, structural and process parameters. In this study, the effect of shear rateon the viscosity at room temperature （22 ~C） of two kinds of tomato sauce （homemade and commercial） is analyzed; using aBrookfield viscometer model 4535, Lab-Line Instruments. Homemade sauce was prepared with fresh saladette tomatoes from a localmarket. Rheological analysis was performed at shear rates from 0.05 to 10.47 sl; using all the spindles available. Statistical analysiswas made using LSD and Duncan tests with a confidence interval of 95% （p-value of 0.05）. It was demonstrated that homemade andcommercial tomato sauce behaved as a thixotropic fluid, due to the typical decrease on viscosity samples observed when testing timewas increased. When tomato sauce is at rest, it has a gelled tridimensional structure; and, as soon as a shear stress is applied, themovement generates an alignment of tomato constituent chains in flow direction, breaking physic entanglements and thus causing adecrease in viscosity as a function of time. Furthermore, it was discovered that the viscosity of homemade sauce was higher than theviscosity of commercial sauce. The latter may be due to the pre-thermal treatment. During this unit operation, polymeric chains oflycopene most likely break into smaller chains of isoprene, causing the observed decrease in viscosity. An update on microbiological causes of canine otitis externa in Campania Region,Italy

Objective: To update the recent knowledge of the microbiological causes of canine otitis externa in Campania Region(Italy) and the antibiotic susceptibility patterns of the isolated ***: A total of 122 dogs were examined by otoscopy, and auricular swab samples were collected from both ears in 74 dogs presenting clinical bilateral otitis and from single ears in 48 dogs displaying clinical unilateral otitis. Cytological examination,bacteriological analysis and antimicrobial susceptibility tests were ***: Thirty-one out of 122 dogs were positive for yeast species(25.4%, 95% confidence interval(CI): 18.2%–34.2%) with a higher prevalence of Malassezia pachydermatis(21/31 isolates, 67.7%, CI: 48.5%–82.7%), and a total of 91 out of 122 dogs were positive for bacterial species(74.6%; CI: 65.8%–81.8%) with a higher prevalence of Staphylococcus pseudintermedius(45/143 isolates, 31.5%, CI: 24.1%–39.8%). These results are the first description of Streptococcus agalactiae-associated otitis. The yeasts isolated showed high levels of susceptibility to all antifungal agents tested; on the contrary all the isolated bacterial strains were highly resistant to at least four out of ten antimicrobial classes. Both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria showed high resistance to amoxicillin/clavulanate and kanamycin hence they are not recommended as initial empirical therapy for the otitis ***: This update illustrates an increase in antibiotic resistances providing an insight into the current knowledge of the therapeutic procedures followed on canine otitis externa in Italy. It also emphasizes the importance of considering the results of the microbiological and sensitivity tests to decide on an appropriate antibiotic therapy.

BACKGROUnD Dyslipidemias are metabolic abnormalities associated with chronic diseases caused by genetic and environmental *** Mexican population displays regional differences according to ethnicity with an impact on the type of *** To define the main dyslipidemias,the frequency of lipid-related risk alleles,and their association with hyperlipidemic states among different ethnic groups in West *** In a retrospective study,1324 adults were selected to compare dyslipidemias and lipid-related gene ***,clinical,and laboratory data were collected.A subgroup of 196 normal weight subjects without impaired glucose was selected for the association *** was determined by allelic discrimination *** Hypercholesterolemia was the most prevalent dyslipidemia(42.3%).The frequency of the risk alleles associated with hypoalphalipoproteinemia(ABCA1)and hypercholesterolemia(APOE,LDLR)was higher in the native Americans(P=0.047).In contrast,the Mestizos with European ancestry showed a higher frequency of the risk alleles for hypertriglyceridemia(APOE2,MTTP)(P=0.045).In normal weight Mestizo subjects,the APOB TT and LDLR GG genotypes were associated risk factors for hypercholesterolemia(OR=5.33,95%CI:1.537-18.502,P=0.008 and OR=3.90,95%CI:1.042-14.583,P=0.043,respectively),and displayed an increase in low-density lipoprotein cholesterol levels(APOB:β=40.39,95%CI:14.415-66.366,P=0.004;LDLR:β=20.77,95%CI:5.763-35.784,P=0.007).COnCLUSIOn Gene polymorphisms and dyslipidemias showed a differential *** primary health care strategies are required to mitigate their prevalence considering the genetic and environmental features which could have important implications for personalized medicine within the new era of precision medicine.

In today＇s globalized world, regulatory issues are heatedly debated, and experts can be divided into two groups based on their attitudes towards these issues. In the first group, representatives are in favor of stricter regulation, and representatives of the second group are in favor of removing legislative barriers in the markets of financial services. An important objective of the European Commission in recent years is to integrate the individual segments of the financial services into a whole so as to ensure the proper functioning of the whole to satisfy all the member states. The aim of this paper is to show the complexity of the regulatory environment, to point out the large number of institutions that cooperate in the creation of legislative measures, and also to highlight the different approaches to regulation in individual member countries and these issues do not ease the situation.
